New Beginnings

After a week of trekking through the forests, Geloyra finally reached one of the established trading outposts on Endor. She was unsure of where to go, or even begin her search to find the Jedi. First, and foremost, she needed credits and after selling her Father's and Brother's blaster rifles, along with some other personal belongings, she massed enough credits to purchase passage of the planet. Unfortunately, she didn't know what planet she should go to. After making some inquiries, she discovered the planet she needed to go to was Bestine which was a world held by the Galactic Alliance. Not knowing what a Galactic Alliance was, she made further inquiries and received mixed feelings on the subject. However, the one constant word that brought joy to her ears was the word Jedi. After completing an agreement with a ship's captain, she boarded the craft and was transported to Bestine.

Upon arriving, she still didn't know where to go. Did she simply walk up to them and ask to join their ranks? Would they sense her and invite her to their family? For the first time she was overwhelmed and scared with questions she had no answers to. While she walked around, she noticed that she didn't fit in. Her clothes were fashioned from the hides and furs of Endor's animals, and in her mind she thought she probably looked outlandish to these civilized people. Spotting a small kiosk that sold armor, weapons, and clothes for the average citizen; she bought an outfit that left her enough credits to purchase food for at least three days. Three days is all she had before she would starve. Her metabolism worked overtime due to her species, which meant starvation was a sever obstacle she had to maneuver around.

Changing clothes quickly behind a building, she discarded her primitive outfit and set out to search for the Jedi. Lacking any real conversation skills, she again found herself nervous on how to approach people of this stature.

Discouraged, she bought a meal and sat down under a tree to eat it. "How hard could it be to find Jedi," she asked the tree as she leaned back against it.

Bestine was on the edge of Alliance space near the core. It was also the best place for Armis to be. Especially since he really didn't get along with very many Alliance people. He had a bad habit of telling the the truth when nobody really wanted to hear it. It didn't help he was unapologetic about it either.

Armis had been walking through a small garden near small of the smaller shops. A few of them he even stopped and talked to the people that worked there. To the little guys trying to live day by day Armis was just like them. He was humble, down to earth, and he talked to them. He actually tried to get to know them. To learn what was important to him. It was for that reason that has he stopped at the last shop the owner offered him a light snack. A new recipe they were trying out and wanted to know his opinion.

Armis promise to return later and let them know how it was. Armis moved towards a small group of trees incidentally an occupied set of trees. From the other side of one of them Armis heard the question [member="Geloyra Malleus"] add asked out loud.

The rogue padawan chuckled.

"That depends on why you are looking for them."

Armis wore his typical Atrisian robes that while closely resembled Jedi robes were noticeably different. His sword on his hip and a blaster pistol on the other hip. His shoulder length hair pulled back into it's normal pony tail.

Geloyra turned her head in the direction of the voice, seeing a well dressed man standing by her. She chided herself for letting herself to be caught unawares. One of the lessons her Father taught her about hunting was to constantly be aware of your surroundings, because even though you were hunting prey, something far more sinister could be hunting you. She knew her Father would have been displeased to learn how she forgot that important life lesson. But she could almost sense there was no malice or ill intentions from this man, especially since both of his weapons remained rested on his side.

She wasn't sure if she should tell this man why she was seeking out the Jedi, but up to know she had failed to connect with them. Maybe this man could help her. "Ever since I was younger, I had this ability to move small objects with my mind. I could run faster, jump higher, and at times my reflexes seemed to be heightened. My parents told me I possessed something they called the Force, which they never fully explained to me."

Standing up and after brushing the crumbs from her meal from her clothes, she continued. "My Father once served in the Republic army and told my siblings and I many stories about the Jedi. However, when this Force thing began to manifest itself in me and after I asked about meeting the Jedi, he forbade me from seeking them out. I'm not sure if he lost faith in them or simply something happened that spurred a schism in how he viewed them. Now, my family are gone and I'm alone."

"I'm seeking the Jedi because they are the only ones I know that can help me. Can you help me find them, please?"

Armis smiled listening to her extended story while nibbling on his little snack.

"I see."

Armis took a seat at the base of the tree. There was no rush and besides she was rambling. Rambling was not a good thing. He motioned for her to sit as well.

"Jedi are everywhere..................but it takes a quiet mind to notice them." "Your mind is far from quiet." "Close your eyes and take a deep breath."

Armis paused seeming to do the same thing himself. A few minutes later he opened his eyes.

"There are also Jedi in the sense of use of the light side of the Force and then there are Jedi in the sense of they use the light side of the Force and are part of the Jedi Order following the Jedi code." "I fall into the first group." "Some call us Independent Jedi and others call us Rogue Jedi."

Armis paused letting his words sink in.

"Both exist in Alliance space and the best place to find them would be on Sullust." "There is a Temple and Academy there." "I could take you there if you wish but the question is why?" "What is it you hope to find?" "Knowledge, wisdom........................power?"
