New Faces, New Places

Koda couldn't remember the last time she had been to Onderon. It had been quite a few rotations and now she was back. For a reason, she had none other than to continue exploring the galaxy for her brother. It had been many many rotations since she had seen him and she wondered if she ever would again.

Right now, Koda was meditating, reaching her mind out to whoever was force sensitive like her and her brother. However, she was only met with pain as it felt like someone had shot it back towards her. Giving a mix between a grunt and a growl, Koda came out of her trance and rubbed her eyes. Whoever that was did not want to connect with her or they didn't like her intruding message about her brother.

Sighing, Koda heard the soft beeping coming from the control panel in the cockpit of her ship. It was just a small one. It had two sleeping quarters, a refresher and a small kitchen. It was enough for her and if she ever had anyone come with her, there was an extra room for them. Going to the cockpit, Koda jumped into her seat and hit the few buttons, signifying that she was just about to drop from hyperspace. Quickly, she realized that she only had ten minutes, so she ran to her quarters and got dressed in one of her usual outfits. Then she quickly started putting up her hair and then bolted back to the front just in time for her exit from hyperspace.

Soon, the big planet came into view as she emerged from hyperspace. All of a sudden a voice came across her comms asking for a clearance code. Luckily she had them updated so she'd be able to come in without being voided or turned away this time. Once she was cleared, she went to a landing pad and landed. On her way out the door, she placed her blasters in their holsters, put her sabers on her belt and then grabbed her cloak and pulled it over her shoulders. After all, she was still a wanted being. As she walked down the ramp, she pulled the hood over her head and walked out.

All of a sudden, something came over Koda's senses. There was another force sensitive in the area.. but who, she didn't know..

The fierce pain to her temple caused Arial to shoot up from her sleeping roll, her hand already drawing her blaster from it's holster. Her eyes scanned the room for any sign of an attcker, but there was no one else here. She grunted and set the weapon down, as she rubbed her head to sooth the new headache. This wasn't the first time she had felt such a thing before, but it waa becoming increasingly more frequent. The black haired huntress laid there for a moment, as she stared into the cloud of darkness that lofted above her. She wasn't sure how long she laid there until she finally got up, but it didnt matter in the end. When she arrived in the cockpit the power was still dead on her ship. She scowled and kicked the control panel. Seemed she would have to find another replacement part for her ship. Not having anything else to do, she set about getting dressed. She threw on some street cloths, but made sure to be wearing her armored flight suit and two blaster pistols that she had strapped to her waist. As she began to make herself breakfeast, the only comfort she took was that her headache had subsided.

As Koda exited her ship, the ramp closed behind her and she did a mental lock on it so no one would be able to enter her ship and take it. It was something she had fixed herself after someone had taken some stuff off of the ship after she took it from somebody. It was a good ship and it was in prime condition. After all, she had taken it when it was brand new. She just gave it a paint job and altered a few things.

Walking away from her ship, she watched and searched through the crowd, just looking for any familiar faces. But after a while, nothing. Koda was losing hope quickly. Leaning against the wall, she crossed her arms. Then all of a sudden, someone came up and tapped Koda on the shoulder. Looking up, she saw the helmet of a storm trooper. She had never seen them out here before, what were they doing here now?? Koda didn't know, but she saw an outstretched hand and she looked at him.

"I'm not giving you money."

she told him. Koda had to mess with stormtroopers anytime she saw them. The storm trooper just shook his head, keeping his hand held out. Truth was is that she hadnt even given him a chance to even talk.

"No.. I'm not asking for money. I need to see your identification please."

Koda looked to his hand again and smirked.

"Since when do you guys come to this planet? Even though you said please, I'll have to reject that offer."

she responded. He asked one more time and she rejected again. Now he made the call for his buddies. It didn't take long before three more troopers appeared and they cornered her against the wall, practically demanding her identification. When she still didn't budge, the first trooper gave the order to capture her. As they got her hands behind her back, she backflipped and before they locked the cuffs, she broke out of them, grabbed her sabers and sliced their heads off. Two other troopers heard the commotion and immediately yelled for her to stop, but instead of surrender, she ran.

Arial sighed, as she finished her meal and set it aside. She let out a lazy stretch and yawn, before disembarking out of the escape hatch at the back of her ship. After bolting the door shut, she let out a sigh and moved to exit the hanger. She found herself tossed in with the rest of the population of Ondereon, as she was jostled back and forth on her way to the scrap dealer. The day aimed to be like any other, until she overheard the agitated shouting of a few troopers near by her. The crowd seemed to spread out as a woman in robes seemed to be the focus of the troopers. Arial watched with intrest, as she found that she was one of the few that had not moved out of the way of the start of a chase. Something about that woman felt familiar, like...she had seen her before.

Koda kept running as fast as she could. She wasn't going to stop. It seemed these days like everyone had intent on either capturing or killing her. She never knew why; she thought she did, but it turned out to sometimes not be that. It seemed this way anytime she ran into a sith or a bounty hunter of some sorts. All of a sudden, a trooper had gained on her and tackled her. As he tried pulling her hands behind her back, other troopers came from every other direction and corner of the town. Pulling her hands away from him, using a little bit of some force techniques she had taught herself, she was able to wiggle herself out from underneath him just enough to try and escape.

With his helmet being in her arm range, she used his head as leverage to push herself away from him. It wasn't too easy, but she eventually got herself to a point where a foot was free, so she was able to deliver a swift kick to his face. Then getting up, she bursted through the ring of troopers that had been surrounding them and she took off, turning around to block shots back at them or she just dodged them as she went.

The whole crowd had seemed to part ways to avoid getting trampled by the troopers, except for one lady.. that Koda ran right into, taking them both down. She looked behind her to see troopers gaining on them and then she looked back to the girl she took off of her feet.

"I'm so very sorry.. come with me if you want to live."

she said, helping her up real quick and pulling her along. If she hadn't, she would have been trampled by the troopers if Koda had just gotten up and left. This lady looked so familiar, but she had no idea who she was.

The sudden impact of the woman left the bounty hunter dazed for a moment, but she had no time to get her bearings before being yanked back to her feet.
"I'm so very sorry.. come with me if you want to live."
Arial heard the gasps of the crowd and shouting of the guards and decided that whatever trouble this woman was in, she was now dragged into it. She scampered to her feet and followed the strange woman. Something about her struck Arial, but she had no idea what it might be, maybe she had seen a open bounty posted on her? Whatever the reason, it didn't matter, they were being chased. Arial grumbled and swiped a flash grenade from her belt. She set the timer to three seconds and dropped it at her feet.
"Cover your eyes!"
She warned the jedi, right before a blinding flash would rob all who happened upon it of their sight. By the time anyone's eyesight recovered, the two would be gone, as Arial would let the jedi lead her on their way.

Koda knew that her suddenly pulling her into the mess would be confusing, but it was never a great idea to be standing in the impact zone.. She had experienced that zone many times and not just getting knocked over or hit by a runner or someone pulling back to punch her or fight her. Koda had experienced it emotionally from all ways. She got it from her brother and boyfriends. Jedi weren't supposed to date, but truth be told, Obi-wan Kenobi dated briefly even though he didn't outwardly admit it.

Then as they were running, they stopped and the other woman pulled a bomb off of her belt and warned Koda to cover her eyes. Doing so, she heard as the bomb exploded with smoke a few seconds later with a bright blinding light flare that would blind everyone. Realizing what the woman had done, Koda smirked as she picked up a pace once more.

"Good move!"

she exclaimed until she reached a safe place once more..

"Sheesh.. I take one step out in public and bam! They're on me for and identity card.."

she said to no one in particular pacing back in forth while trying to catch her breath.

Having broken away from their pursuers, Arial kept an ear out for the sounds of security forces, or their speeders. She wasn't sure exactly what was going on, but she had no doubt that both her and this woman's she had been pulled along with would have their faces plastered up on a few hundred wanted posters within the hour. Seeing that she was the other woman wasn't adding anything to the conversation, Arial spoke up.
"Could you please tell me what is going on? Why were those people chasing you? And why in the Force did you have to drag me into it?"
She groaned, as she took out her datapad and did a search for her image. Thankfully there was nothing out there yet, but that wasn't going to stay that way for long. A painful thud smashed into her right temple once again, as she held it and winced. "And now I have this fantastic headache. Argh..."

Relieved that she had at least gotten to one of her safe houses, Koda was happy to say that she was lucky to have lived another day. Random weirdos were jumping in on her bounty and trying to capture her, just like the idiot planet security that just tried to scan her for an identification. If it wouldn't have been for the flare, Koda may have still been running. She looked over to the woman who started complaining about why Koda dragged her into whatever. She watched as she pulled out a datapad. Koda knew exactly what she was looking for.

"Don't worry. It's me they're looking for. You're not gonna see yourself posted on there unless you make hits on them like I have. That's why they're chasing. I've made small diversions on different planets, got involved in a small battle once and now I've got a bounty on me. As for dragging you into this, if you were watching where you were going and got out of the way, I wouldn't have knocked you over. Plus if I would have just left you there, you would have been trampled by the brainless planet security."

Koda said as she turned around and grabbed two glasses filling them with water. She also grabbed a tube of gel and handed both to her.

"Take some of the gel and rub it on your temples. Only use a small amount for both sides. It's very strong. Also, drink some water. That'd be another reason why you've got a headache. Always stay hydrated."

She responded as Koda even leaned against the wall and started drinking the water herself, feeling the beginnings of a headache.

Arial gave an unamused look to the woman as she wqas lectured. Whatever this woman's bounty was, she obviously hadn't heard of it. She was curious though, she'd have to remember to look the strangers image up later. She looked at the gel and the glasses, then to the woman. She was wary of taking drinks from strangers, but her offer appeared geniune. The pain in her temples flaired again, reminding her once again that it was still quite there. "Sure. Thanks." She muttered, taking the glass and drowning it contents, before applying the gel. She didn't need to be told about the importanace of drinking water, but she apperciated the woman's kindness. "So, who are you exactly? I mean, the regular citizen doesn't have a bounty on their heads."

Koda watched as the woman stared at the glasses in her hands and then the bottle of gel. At that moment, she knew exactly what she was thinking. Koda didn't do drugs or anything of the sort. She was better than that. Besides, she was a Jedi, why would she have a reason for drugs? The main medical substance she had was the gel that was given to her by a doctor that found that she suffered from a slight PTSD with major headaches that could come anytime. Sure, Koda's bounty wasn't the biggest one on the list, but it was still a good price. It had been there for quite some time and no one had jumped on it yet. Apparently she had made quite the impression on a woman called Miss Blonde.

Koda watched as the woman took down the whole glass of water and she went ahead and refilled it again for her. She heard her ask who she was and Koda let out a sigh and realized that if this woman was a bounty hunter, she probably would have taken her by now.

"My name is Koda Berus. I'm a Jedi Padawan. I'm definitely no ordinary citizen. Most are blind to the First Order and follow them as if they are. I on the other hand, like some have been fighting back."

The teen responded. Koda understood the questioning to who she was. Especially when she literally dragged the other woman off of the street, to prevent someone else being hurt because of her. It wasn't not typical for Koda to accidentally hurt someone. It happened pretty much all the time even when she didn't want it to happen.

Arial gave a skeptic nod as she listened to the younger woman.
"Uh huh, Well I'm Arial and I'm just looking for a paycheck."
She muttered, as she fiddled with the parts of her flight suit, wanting to ensure this wasn't some elaborate scam to steal her equipment. "I mean, this whole resistance movement is cute and all, but why are you here? It's very coincidental that you just happen to bump into me as well, but I suppose it was just that. I can't see why a padawan would try and involve me in this, so I won't hold a grudge this time."
Arial groaned, the reality of her situation just clicked. She may just end up on this rock alot longer than she wanted to.
"However, I'm sorta in a rush, so good luck with your rebellion, but I need to get ship parts so I can leave, and I only have so much time before my docking bay is found and detained." She sighed, as she made an effort to leave, but took the time to set down the glass and gel. The girl was nice and all, but Arial simply didn't have time to just chat.

Just looking for a paycheck? Huh.. she already had a feeling of how this woman was going to play this, but she didn't think it would actually happen. Koda listened as the woman ranted on while playing with her suit. Cute? Resistance was cute? That was one thing that nearly made her send an icicle towards her heart, but she held back as she just narrowed her eyes at the woman and let her finish speaking all the while gritting her teeth.

"Ok. First of all, this "resistance" isn't made to be cute. I'm on my own. I live here. I don't have anybody. My brother left and nearly killed me when I was barely old enough to understand anything. My parents died before I could be on my own. My whole family gave up on me and my master died a few years later. This is my life. I don't have any other choice. You would have never been involved if you would have just moved out of the way instead of standing in the middle of the walkway with a distant look on your face."

Koda responded with a bit of emotion in her voice. There was no way someone was going to get in her way and then start insulting the way she lived.

"Unless you've got a good amount of money, you aren't getting those ship parts. The dealers around here would rather take your life than a lower price and negotiation. However. I've got extra parts, I can help you with whatever you need unless you don't want someone like me helping you."

She understood that the woman was in a rush and she had started out nice to the woman now known as Arial. One thing said about her lifestyle though and Koda would defend it.

Arial stopped as the girl began to berate her. It took a great deal of discipline not to snap back, as the bounty hunter held her tongue. She knew damn well what it was like to have nothing. Hell, she had nothing for the ten years she worked as a slave. She glanced down at her credit purse, and the woman was correct, she didn't have enough to afford everything she needed. The resistance was absurd to her, but they definetly were not the bad guys here.
"Yea, you have a point." Arial said through gritted teeth. "I don't have an issue with you, or your cause. Its only because right now, you're preventing me from doing my job." Arial sighed and turned back to the woman. "What exactly do you need? In exchange for the parts, what do you want?"

Koda's respect went a long way for some people. It was hard to keep it for the few seconds though when a stranger completely made the wrong type of comments about the 18 year old's life. Koda had been living on her own since she was a very very young age. Technically she was at an age she should have never been left at. Her parents were killed in front of her, her brother went to the darkside and nearly killed her at her pleas for him to not leave. He nearly killed their master and then was never to be found again. Then nine years ago her master was killed in front of her.

Koda watched the woman as she soon realized she had a point. The dealers here were moody and they wanted their money the way they wanted it. There was no denying it. If you told them different, they'd end your life then and there. Koda looked to Arial as she asked what Koda wanted for the parts. With crossed arms, she looked at Arial solemnly.

"I want nothing. Take this as a gesture from someone who wanted to help someone else."

she responded. Technically that is all she wanted to do after running into her. She never wanted this to happen. Koda never wanted to drag anyone into anything like this.

Arial blinked at the woman, a expression of disbelief was clear to see. "So, you're jusy giving the parts to me? Free of charge?" She cocked her head to the side. "Really? Just a show of good faith? You don't want to requeat my servicea for a later date or have someone tagged for your resistance? Just...free with no strings attached?" Arial shrugged. "Well, thanks. I apperciate it but....are you sure there isnt anything I can do to even out the cost?" She asked, she was genuine, she owed this woman a favor. Least she could do was offer her services for free.

Koda turned and looked at Arial as she spoke. She almost sounded defeated when Koda responded saying that she wanted nothing for helping her. There was nothing she really needed or wanted.. though it did get lonely sometimes. Koda had a new master now, but a friend always helped things go better.

"Fine.. As you know, I'm a Jedi Padawan. I just got a new master but I could use a friend every once in a while. No one wants to be near me anymore except my new master these days."

It didn't exactly hit her until now, but she just realized that this woman seemed to be force sensitive. The headaches.. all of it. Were they meant to meet? Koda was unsure but this could have possibly been why she didn't move out of Koda's way and her instant reaction to help Arial. It seemed like she knew her and even met her at a time.. but when??

Arial blinked at the womans atrange request. She wanted a friend? That was all? Arial pondered it for a moment. It wasnt a bad deal, honestly, being someones friend in exchange for some much needed ship parts? She smiled. "Sure, that doesn't sound too difficult." She beamed at the padawan. "I'll promise not to turn you in too, well, I mean so long as its not too high up on the board." She chuckled, before grabbing her forehead once more. "Ugh, I...don't think your gel worked. Damn thing is back." She groaned.
