defy the tyrannous stars
So some of you knew this has been coming for a while, and I am certain more of you suspected something like this would happen eventually, but sadly I must announce that I will be stepping down as the Galactic Alliance's faction owner and severely limiting my time on Chaos for the foreseeable future. I unexpectedly found new employment in the past month, and the new job is tiring as well as doesn't afford any downtime for computer or even phone usage. Suffice to say, I hadn't anticipated such a massive shift in my availability and priorities so soon after I was elected.
When I was asked if I would be interested in this position I wasn't sure I was capable, but from my perspective in that moment it was a choice between me or a leaderless, directionless major faction, and even though I hadn't spent much time yet on Chaos I knew such an entity was doomed to fail. If its ironic that such a scenario ended up playing out for a few weeks near the end of my leadership, it is doubly so that the person I am choosing to nominate for replacement of my position is the very same writer who appeared out of nowhere to challenge my assumptions and cause me no end of sleepless nights (so thanks for that).
Since the beginning of my tenure as FO and before, [member="Jacen Voidstalker"] has been an integral, active, and enthusiastic member of the Galactic Alliance. As members of the GA, you are all entitled to make your own nominations of course as is your right, but for my part I can think of no one better suited to step into that responsibility. I'm sorry that things worked out this way, guys. I wish I could have given more for longer, and I hope you all understand that I am doing this not because I want to, but because I believe it is what is best for the faction and everyone in it.
Anyway, that was way too many words but I couldn't help it. Most of you should remember how this works. Anyone (so long as they are a GA faction member) is allowed to nominate candidates for my replacement in addition to Jacen, and then eventually we will have a vote thread where the new owner will be decided. The process should take about a week or two. In the meantime, I will be reachable on Discord just as I have been throughout my absence, only I will try and do a better job of responding promptly given the circumstances.
