The Faction Owner vote has ended and I’ve now officially taken over as FO of the One Sith. As [member="Reverance"] said in his most recent announcement, he and [member="Vrag"] will stay on to show us the ropes.
I have been a moderator in the faction for a while and I've seen the inner workings of the leadership. I was also being prepared to step in as a Faction Administrator as one of the former ones was about to step down. While the role of Faction Owner is different, I would like to think I've been a part of a gradual process that has allowed me to get into the mindset of leadership; what matters they get involved in and how they go about doing it. I will of course bring my own perspective to the table, but luckily the tasks and responsibilities are not all new.
I will declare our general intentions in a bit, but before all that I wish to introduce you to your new leadership team! [member="Isamu Baelor"] and [member="Darth Ophidia"] are being brought on as new admins. Like me, Isamu was being eased into the role of Faction Administrator, a role I believe he is well suited for. Ophidia has experience with a leadership position in our sub-faction, the Sith Assassins. [member="Darth Azurea"] who also has experience with leadership in other factions will become our new moderator and take over the Master/apprentice request and trainer/trainee registry. These are all reasonable and level-headed people who I am sure will do great.
Our first task will be to replace most of our resource threads so that we can continuously update them. Expect to see that going on in the coming week. We have also gotten a few requests from people who wish to be tagged when dominions go up. These things can move by pretty fast in our faction, and it’s easy to lose track if you don’t pay attention. To combat this we will soon put up a registry. People who wish to be tagged when new dominions and faction threads go up will be added to this list.
The first big discussion will likely be in regards to the Will of the Emperor system. We've identified problems with this. I believe it’s at the point where it either needs to be reworked or scrapped. We are coming up with possible solutions now, but this is something we want your input on. Once we have something solid we'll extend the discussion to the rest of the faction.
Our job as leadership is not to win invasions for you or tell you what stories to write. Instead we hope to maintain a friendly and including writing environment for all our members. One Sith is a member-driven faction, and we’re always happy to see initiative and new stories driven on by the members. We are not gonna tell you what to do, but we want to help you do it. We will try to establish clear boundaries and keep the faction moving in the right direction. We are always open for feedback, so if you see something you think should be improved upon feel free to drop a comment in the admin suggestion box or send us a PM.
