Adapt or die.
It was a basic law of nature. Everyone was subject to it, regardless of who you were or what you could do. Species needed to adapt to a changing environment, individuals needed to adapt to changes in their life and organisations needed to adapt to a change in their landscape.
Even the great orders of the Jedi and Sith were not above this law. Various times in history, the Orders changed in form and function, oftentimes bringing themselves back from the brink in doing so.
Sometimes the Jedi tied themselves closely with governments, either working for the Senate or flat out ruling worlds as benevolent monarchs. Sometimes they were more detached, acting as wanderers, going where the Force willed and doing their work, then vanishing afterwards. Never staying in one place for too long.
And now in this age, the Jedi would have to adapt once again. With wars of an unprecedented scale wracking the Galaxy in his relatively short life. More avenues would need to be considered. Nothing dark, nothing unethical. But unconventional methods would always be needed when it came to dealing with a rapidly shifting battlefield, all while still somehow holding true to the original ideals of their order.
But those kinds of solutions could not come entirely from the Order itself. The Jedi had assumed they held the total sum of wisdom in the past, that had never ended well. So imagine his surprise when news of a company that seemingly held a great deal of appreciation for his order reached his ears. It was something that he viewed with a healthy amount of scepticism.
He had his reasons to distrust larger corporations. The purpose of a company was to sell a product or service to make money. Profit was the ultimate goal. Money being the root of all evil was one of the reasons why the Jedi was not the biggest fan of capitalism. Going to such lengths to accumulate something that ultimately held no value in of itself seemed so pointless to him.
Its why he preferred to focus on other things. Like bizzare esoterica that only a tiny portion of the population could interact with. It was far more sensible.
He was surprised when his request for a meeting went to the very top. He had expected to be talking to an executive, a PR specialist or if he was fortunate, an engineer who was at least enthusiastic about their work. Instead he got the CEO herself.
In one way, it was a blessing. He could get a proper measure of her through a face to face meeting. Get an idea of what her angle was and how to best manoeuvre it into something advantageous for the Jedi as a whole. Because he would not lie and say the Order could not use another ally, even if they were motivated by profit.
As the doors to the office slid open, he gave a quick nod towards his escort, basic courtesy offered to them as he made his way inside.
"Ms Dara. Thank you for seeing me."
Perceiving the world through the Force was always a curious experience. Many would assume that it was similar to normal sight but with a few extra filters. Like some kind of high tech visor or goggles. But the reality was far more complex than that. Because when Aaran looked at someone, he received a snapshot of their entire existence.
Everything they were, everything they could be. The Force knew all of this, and it was shown before him whenever he looked at someone.
Granted, the mortal mind is incapable of processing or comprehending that much information all at once. So instead he simply got a very good impression of an individual on a fundamental level. And now, with his full focus on her, he was rather curious as to what he'd find with Zoraya Dara
