Description: (Please describe this faction, explaining who they are, what their goals are, any special features etc.)
The Republic is a player focused faction, with the story focused around gaining the membership of worlds through the vote of their people or an official request to join by the government of the planet itself with several tiers to membership available. This allows for player run worlds to remain completely undisturbed and entirely autonomous if they so choose, even when within the New Republic's influence cloud. The Republic does not forcefully claim worlds from people it makes deals with, and does not direct that planet's story outside of what would be considered due to its specific tier of membership. From there, the goal the Republic has initially sought was the defense of the Core and the Colonies specifically, though are ready to expand that focus towards any planets outside of those regions.

Due to this fact, the Republic also welcomes various groups and individuals into its ranks. Individuals such as Vulpesen, who's world signed on to provide a more stable, interplanetary police and security force, or the Individuals who joined the Republic military due to past service in other nations such as the GA, the Rebels, or even the old Galactic Republic. The Republic seeks people who align with their goal of defense and protection for the people under them, looking only to provide a government accountable to the People.

Due to this, the Republic has a few special things about it. The first and most notable is the Senate, which has now been broken into various branches of government, such as the legislative, which is the senate proper and the executive, a branch focused to the Chancellor and his cabinet and more focused on enforcement of the laws passed by the senate, rather than passing those laws. This leaves a checks and balance system that starts in the government, but continues to the military where meritocratic service is upheld to the highest order, looking for devoted and capable characters to rise up in the ranks and become in their own right leaders, avoiding more personal connections leading to places of leadership.

The last bit of consideration for the unique bit of the Republic is the lack of a force order of any kind. The Republic does not retain a Jedi core, or an inquistorial group, or the Sith order. It does not hold barriers between the place of Force Users and Non Force Users in any form, allowing for full integration. This is a constant state of discussion in the republic but the Republic retains a more freedom of religion/force powers look on the topic and has such created a place where force users are citizens who choose their path, be it military, civilian, or political.

The Pitch: The New Republic has gained Major in the past and retained it, only losing it after a recent lull in active directly after an invasion and in preparation for an invasion near the middle of March. This was interrupted and replaced with the invasion by the CIS which the Republic continued to post in, even though our membership was drastically out numbered on a sheer writers number. Even with that said, the Republic made up 1/5 of the Invasion's posts, not counting the Republic's allies in that number, keeping up story wise with a faction multiple times larger than our own faction. In addition to this, the Republic kept up with that same time frame, starting and actively posting to a Dominion on Ebaq and then starting another dominion with confidence of, and proof of, constant posts from our members with minimal pressure from the admins. In addition to these start threads, we intended to finally post up the invasion of the CIC, an invasion delayed by one month due to a promise made to the CIC team, and had another faction thread planned and voted on with heavy support from the faction. All of this brings us to the current state of the Republic, continuing the two doms, even with our forced reduction to Minor and putting our foot forward and posting in those faction threads, even if in their infancy at the moment.

As far as our unique government standing and set up, on an in character stage, we bring with us a level of government and military roleplay based on and influenced by nations in our own real world. Breaking down our government into something that is player focused and controlled while the army is taken a less imperialistic and more humanitarian focus. Our navy meshes Republic staples with future earth tech from things like Halo to provide players with the choice of being more traditional in their republic character or enjoying that touch of realism inspired push by using the future tech theme we have set up.

The New Republic has never been a large faction, having at any given time between 12 and 20 people actively posting to threads. We are not like the heavily connected, and manned factions such as the Sith Empire, the Silver Jedi, or the Confederacy, who have scores more unique writers, making it hard to keep up on a similar level of activity as them. But, we do as we can with the reduced numbers and for our size can actively continue posting and creating a otherwise unique faction as compared to the numerous empires that are out and about at the moment. We provide people with a political roleplay driven by them, and constant votes on anything the faction does, which regrettably does slow down our release of threads but in turn gives more choice and powers to our members rather than the staff.

In addition to this, the members of the Republic continue to support the faction, even with the reduction to minor and want to continue their stories. While this can be done as a minor, it would fit them better to remain major and give them more consistency given our faction's story thus far. Between the devotion of my small but dedicated faction, and the focus towards them leading the faction rather than the Staff making decisions for them, the Republic sees all rights to continue as a Major and become one once more. It has the necessary members, and can pump out a total of 70+ posts in two weeks, more posts than some factions got in a whole month before they became major such as the Core Imperial confederation as the most recent example, and all this done when there was minimal prodding by the faction's leadership.
