L Admin
So, upon returning from my LOA and joining the Administrators back again full time, my first advice to Head Administrator [member="Valiens Nantaris"] was to evaluate the RPJs on the team. And one of the biggest things we notice was that we had.... zero representatives from the First Order on Staff.
Now, I don't usually base my Staff choices off what Major Factions are popular at the time, but the fact that a few Staff members solely write for the Galactic Alliance didn't really give the perception that Staff sits unbiased. Not to mention the Faction Owner of the Galactic Alliance - Raziel - is also a Role-play Judge. Of course he's double dipping with permission, we allow experienced Staff members to both run factions and work for Staff at the same time.
As the First Order knows, I joined their Discord server a couple of weeks back specifically looking for a member from their faction to join Staff. Then I chilled for 2 weeks, chatting with them, infiltrating their culture and becoming one with their poodoo memes and off color jokes. Then, last night, I approached their Faction Owner, and offered him the spot of RPJ. He has accepted.
There's a bunch of caveats to the position that the other Administrators wished to address and his position on the team is yes, complicated - but that's what we wanted. To help continue diversifying Staff, adding an uncommon voice to our team from an area of the Galaxy we're not very familiar with, and to help counter any idea that Staff is biased for any one Faction. Because that last part .... that's where we're at these days. I'm hearing those silly Staff Faction rumors again.
I don't actually care, guys.
Valiens nor I do. We just want ya'll to have fun and invade and rebel and go crazy and keep doing what Chaos does best. Keep your faction politics out of your opinion of Staff.
However, despite it all, my search actually found a very competent and capable person of serving the Staff team and the community, and I look forward to seeing both the results of [member="Rolf Amsel"] 's training and the impact his judgement/advice has on Staff and the community.
Welcome to the team, Rolf!
