New to all this, but looking to enjoy it!

So I am just now starting out. This will be my first forum RP, so have mercy, but I was planning to do it the only way I know how: Mercenary Work!

I'm planning to make a merc because I don't like being tied down, but I can't decide anything about appearance, between species or even gender. I am trying to decide between a male Zabrak or a female Lethan Twi'lek, or even some other more obscure species. I even have a basic outfit thought out, but I can't find a picture of Zabrak or Twi'lek that isn't holding a lightsaber or doing space magic.

If somebody would like to help me out with some advice or something, it would be appreciated!

But either way, can't wait to get into the RP!

Welcome to Chaos first of all! It might seem daunting considering it's your first forumRP but the folks around here are very helpful when it comes to answering any questions you have. The fact that you already have a general idea of what you want to play is a good start. You don't really have to worry about finding a picture with specific details. Just find a playby (Your own character's appearance) that you're happy with and just write somewhere in your character sheet that they have this or that. Saves you a lot of headache if you don't worry over your pictures having every last detail down to a T. Take me for example, I use the Monitor from Anthem, he's a Sith, but obviously the Monitor doesn't use a lightsaber in Anthem, it's just shown in my equipment list that I have a lightsaber and posts that I have one.

Welcome! Forum Rps can be daunting. However, we have a lot of amazing and helpful people here! Just let us know what you need, or when you have questions, and we will do our best to help. The key to role playing is patience and learning. Take your time, you don't need to be great right away, but each thread, and every post, you will learn more and more. And for everything else, well you have us!

I love stories, world building, character design and the like. So, if you ever just want someone to throw ideas at, see which one is good, or at looking for ways to make an idea work, or even just looking for new ideas, please, send me a private message. First and foremost, allow me to welcome you to this crazy thing known as Star Wars RP: Chaos. Really, it is great to have you here.

Just like everyone has been saying so far, forum based role play can seem pretty daunting and with the massive amounts of activity that Chaos offers, it can seem even more so. But please, do not let that deter you from writing here and making the character the you want to make. There are plenty of opportunities everywhere within our community to jump into. Whether that is jumping into the faction or simply being freelance or even just finding your smaller team of writers to share an adventure with, I'm sure you'll be able to find your way without a snag.
