DESCRIPTION
A small time outfit, Next Depth Design was a pet project by Hoku Kalani and five other friends who met at the Dac Academy of the Sciences. Feeling that they had the means to ensure the land-dwellers could learn to use and respect the seas of their planets, they put the time in to help develop a codex of ocean science standards, including wave theory for oceans, descriptions of the interconnectedness of energy ocean, the concepts of wave power, and how storms can affect the waves. Centered mostly around Dac itself, but also other worlds with less seas and more storms, and more land, the codex grew. As they gained steam, more peers and even instructors joined the group. From there it really stacked and stacked. Picing up coastal engineers, and evenutally a small team of green energy specialists, the company started its office on Dac and moved aboard the MC80 Changing Tides. To begin it was a few offices of a start up, but as it grew, the contract with the holding company of Changing Tides also grew, to becoming the primary organization aboard the shipping focused MC80.

RATIONALE
Hoku Kalani, along with other like minded friends from the Dac Academy of the Sciences saw a challenge in the galaxy. So much water, water everywhere, and so many of the worlds did not know what to do with it. Teaming up with one of his friend's family's shipping company, Next Depth Designs purchase passage and office space aboard the vessel Changing Tides. From here, they began to peddle their science and wares, starting in consulting and moving into the realm of overall coastal/ocean engineering and filling the final role of energy development. With Hoku being the most social scientist based, a focus in the resilience and disaster mitigation, the other Mon Cal in his company's pod nominated him the leader. Quoted one friend "He could sell a dehumidfier to a dryskin" Which, in Mon Cala parlance was the peak of humor that day.
