NFU

Is there a way of saying a nfu is established enough, to vote yea or nay in a master vote?
As it is a faction question on the individual writer, and if NFU has proven there worth, should they not get voice in said vote?

I would say that no, they shouldn't get a voice in a master vote. I'm not saying this to be mean, but from a purely pragmatic point of view they simply cannot understand everything that a Jedi/Sith undergoes in relation to the Force. They have no experience with wielding the Force as a tool for good or ill and as such don't have the necessary insight to make an informed decision on whenther or not a Knight should be promoted to Master. Same reason I would give if one wished to sit on a Jedi Council. Just my opinion on the matter, sorry if I came off as a little harsh.

A NFU by definition does not have the insight and understanding to make that judgement IC.

OOC you can certainly forward a person's name to an RPJ if your faction has no masters however.

Being a master means you have the privilege of voting for others wishing to join the club. An NFU does not have ranks in this way so is excluded from it.

[member="Valiens Nantaris"] i know it just seems a little unfair on the nfu, and being able to might make them more popular, it is just an idea.

[member="Valiens Nantaris"] could always make a veteran one, and an elite on so it could be, and that would have to be voted on.
so master and nfu elites could vote on the rank increase

Though this is just an idea, to try and improve nfu standing.

but that would mean more rank titles they have to scroll through and there is a whole thread talking about how much the admins dislike that.

also well why would they care? Honestly a non force user why would they care if they have a say in a force user getting a new shiny banner in their records?

Again, it isn't a matter of the 'rank' of the NFU, it is that they cannot understand the mental, physical, and emotional impact of utilizing the Force in any manner. That is why they should not have an IC say. They simply have no basis on which to make a truly informed decision on the matter. OOC as Valiens pointed out if the group doesn't have any masters who are able to vote on the progression of a character, then you are more than welcome to send in the persons name to an RPJ for consideration. IC though it would make no sense for an NFU to have a say in promotion. All they have to go off of would be the actions they have seen the person take, they cant understand the strain that comes along with being a Force user. It's pretty simple and a matter of practicality IC.

And I addressed both in my post above, restating Valiens' stance about OOC.

Many of us came from a place which had NFU as well as FU ranks, but it was absurd and silly.

Further, giving a 'veteran' NFU tag, whose sole purpose is to vote on FUs seems odd. Why would an OOC title (which is what 'veteran' is) have any impact on someone's say on Force Users?

So no, this is not going to happen. It doesn't make sense.
