Strengths:
- Sloped Defence: Unlike the CR90 and similar ships of this size the NH10 put an emphasis on sloped armor and rounded edges to give it a slight edge in deflecting incoming shots. Both energy and ballistic and with good shielding can stand up in combat a little longer.
- Above Average Attack: The use of heavy turbo laser batteries and single laser cannons makes the NH10 a good all rounder that can attack capital ships and deal some damage while able t help screen against fighters.
- Ray, Duh: A large Radar dish and targeting software give the NH10 a suburb view of the battlefield giving it a small edge over other ships that lack such equipment.
- Little Speedy: The added use of weapons makes the NH10 no so much a blockade runner and thus is not as fast as its more nimble counterparts.
- No you bring the fighters: Needing room for the large power generator and weapon systems the NH10 does not carry any fighters into battle.
Upon finishing two of it's planned star fighters HSCS moved onto diversifying it's space combat craft, taking one step up into the corvette range. The first desgin was to a a front line combat craft that could stand up with other capital ship, but they came across problems with previous designs, most being the usually flat forward facing bridge that had many bling spots around the ship.
The solution was to make a sloped bridge with protruding ends with windows that allowed crew members a visual look over the majority of the ship. In addition the NH10 was designed to use higher powered turbo lasers but also have the ability to ward off enemy fighters with laser cannons.
Operational Use
The NH10 can operate by itself in most regards 2 or 3 grouped together being quite the versatile force to deal with. Though at it's core the corvette is still a support ship, able to provided extra fire power to a capital ship and screen against fighters. In addition it's fire power can come as a surprise to those not used to fighting such a craft, able to easily take out other corvettes and even frigates if it lands enough hits.
Defenses
The NH10 sacrifices a speed for better armor and better weapons, as such can be a nasty surprise to captains that treat such a ship like a CR90 or similar corvettes. This ship can tank a few shots more then other corvettes able to get away from a sticky situation without much damage but also screen against incoming fire. Still this craft is no Mon Cal cruiser and is still vulnerable to bombers, and bigger more well armed ships and captains should not overestimate it's defense.
