- Variable Length: The hilts and blades are able to with the controls reach different lengths for different uses. From duelphase and broad style for deflection to the hilts being shotos or reaching saber pike length. Even strong enough to function like pole vaults able to support the jedis weight for moving around.

- Enhanced Deflection: The lens and emitter are designed to adjust and allow the blades to switch to a better model for deflection capabilities against blasters and even function against paddle beamers easily enough.
- Crystal Assembly: The enhanced and extended crystal assembly is made that the jedi can place several crystals in it and create useful combinations of his sabers effects.
- Free Hands: The design of the gauntlet allows for Nico to be able to use her hands for different purposes. In most cases using the advanced Toolkit MK II to surprise with its different means to attack.
- Lightshield: As part of the Aegis System a dedicated power cell is set up for the lightshield (using Heavy Praestigiae's Luminous Overlaid Technological Shields) and designed to deflect lightsaber blades as well as most other weapons. Not perfectly but the size of the shield is able to be changed to cover her arm or a portion of her body or even become oversized.
- Enhanced Cutting Power: With the lens and power as well as emitters and crystal combination the cutting power can make materials like vong crab armor, beskar and phrik butter beneath the blade.
- Variable Modes: Able to change for deflection, cutting, duel phase length, even deflecting paddle beams at the cost of being unable to deflect standard blaster bolts. The saber is a technical wonder.
- Functionality: The crystal lens allows it to cut cortosis without deactivating, the ignition pulse allows it to work underwater, adjustment lets it go from a thin and focus blade for dueling or cutting into a broad and flateblade to deflect and defend. The exotic metals used in it allow the saber to literally become impossibly heavy for anyone else trying to touch and hold it except Caltin.
- Exotic Matter: The ethereal nature of the metal makes it near weightless despite being and looking dense within the pocket dimension of dream. In realspace it can be grasped and there is a steady supply able to be used by the jedi. When smelted with other materials it can decrease the weight of the material created by 50 percent. The exotic structure with the solidified force energy being able to skirt gravity as it has mass but does not become weighed down as long as there is force energy within it. When smelted and added to materials that are largely heavy it can reduce the weight depending on how much is use (ie: a few grams compared to ingots.. a couple grams might take off some pounds while an ingot will reduce the weight but also the quality of the metal since it doesn't augment the resistances.
- Physics Meet Metal bat: Being from the dream pocket dimension the metal has unique properties generated and made by Krass. in this case it is psychoreactive and able to be bonded to a single person. That person can then bring it to them like they were holding a massive magnet with the range being hard to determine as they have to be able to sense and feel it.
- Force Nullification: The sabers while a technical achievement also use the force to give them many of their effects. Without it they are heavy and normal metal with an unstable power source that has lost some of its filtering and enhancement.
- Exotic Matter: The tetherite and solarite metals are explosive when they come into contact with anti or dark matter.
- Mirrors Interior: The sophisticated mirrors used to shrink down the internal components are important and damaging them is on of the more dangerous things as it can cause the sabers to explode or cease functioning.
- Protective Qualities: Largely non protective in qualities as it doesn't fully adhere to the rules of physics. The metal looks dense and like it would be highly protective but it isn't.
Designed by Valek before his operation to become Nico and made with the expressed intent of combining a sword and shield for fighting in melee. The former fighter sent the design to his cousin before he disappeared reemerging in the sith briefly. Then again on Nar Shadda in a spice den. He was trying to ease the pain he felt but nothing could help aside from drugs and taking pity upon him. Matsu asked a friend to help.
This led to Valek coming to the jedi temple on Tython just as the archives were being attacked and injured. Quickly he was shuttled away to a medical clinic and given nearly all the surgeries except one that the man requested not be done as of yet. A few weeks later when he was healed, Valek emerged as Nico Ike the cousin of Matsu and Noriko taking up as a padawan within the jedi order and being a little reclusive.
The gauntlets themselves are made as a standard armored gauntlet with armor weave attaching on the underside of the armored plate.There is a finger guard so the blade will not sever them that goes off the knuckles much like on a standard blade. The addition of a bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse with twin rainbow gems allow the single bladed sabers to activate underwater and cycle through the color spectrum.
The shielding part of the gauntlet creates a half meter in diameter energy shield similar to the Deathwatch mini forearm energy shields or the gungan personal energy shield but the most inspiration comes from the Kilian rangers with the major difference being that this isn't just on the off hand. Both gauntlets can create a shield. There are duel diatanium energy cells (2 per gauntlet) are in the back of the gauntlet on "base" near the top of the forearm.
The power source of the saber has been modified heavily and designed within the housing. Four quad chambered diatium power cells are required per gauntlet adding more weight to the weapon but is countered by the lack from saber or shield. The saber and shield cannot be activated at the same time on the same gauntlet. The underside glove is treated with slivers of micronized elecrtum to give it a finish.
With work and effort the gauntlets through fighting and skill from Nico have been upgraded, using more traditional lightsaber gauntlet technology and developing it into a new version of the aegis gauntlet. The first steps were getting more advanced shielding technology as the type they had found proved ineffective compared to most. Instead following the suit of the jedi light shield used for training purposes and incorporating salvaged xythan shielding to use.
The shield strength compared to the old ones has been drastically increased same for the size allowing adjustments to make the shield larger or smaller but not exceeding the 1.5 meter size light shields can make. The protective qualities made to parry and defend against lightsabers and blasters for dueling in practice and normal combat while a second set of shields were salvaged and bought for her own use to give the jedi knight protection.
Crystals were then the next focus as she went around the galaxy with her padawans recovering them to be used and augment the blades properties and design. With the inclusion of a second blade more in line with saber gauntlets it opened up new avenues for the blades feeding off two emitters from one cell more like a crossguard saber and requiring additional energy cells. The added weight offset by using lighter materials.
The combination gauntlet was still being worked on though and each gauntlet received a crystal at the wrist within the modular tubes like the toolkit. An underbarrel focusing crystal for projecting bolts of force energy was on one while a paddle beamer went to the other giving her a way to stun a target in combat if needed. Micronized phrik in the same style as the sasori gloves but without the strength enhancement of crushgaunts to catch blades.
Overall her blades and shield combination was given a large boost to reflect her growing a a jedi that could prove useful. She had some other ideas but the more advanced her thoughts of making the sabers the more she realized she was losing sight of them for what they were. Nico worked with her cousin Matsu to finish tinkering them in the one sasori mine and provide them the last bit of flare so they'd look hers.
Since she married Via the jedi master has spent most of her time adjusting and working to protect the Qarmast clan within a small secret enclave they have created near their home. The aegis blade gauntlets have been upgraded with the latest to reflect that and keep up with Via's armor and weapon designs.
A new power source, new set of lightsaber technologies and improved crystal assemblies that have given the blades a great deal of refined and improved power serve a stronger function while the shield has been improved to be better protection for her. With new setting to adjust the size of it so it can cover her entire body and also double in a fight giving her a saber and shield or even two shields.
