Aithne Charr
Heir of Fire
Name: Captain Nida Vaal
Loyalties:
Development Threads:
Age: 26
Species: Keshiri
Appearance: Nida is a dark haired, young looking Keshiri soldier who is of the age of 26. Her hair itself is a dark black streaked with silver hairs, almost like obsidian and silver threads intertwined to create her hair. She generally keeps the length of hair tied up but has on occasion let it down in which case the hair flows to her shoulders and along her back. When let down, the hair would commonly be rather straight, showing little to it when it comes to curls.
Nida’s eyes are a violet color, though have a bit more of a light to them that makes them stick out from the color of her skin. The violet hue is normally greeted with an apathetic look most of the time, as her face is rarely one that shows emotion to strangers and during formal functions. This does not mean she is generally in that way of looking, as she tends to show a softer, brighter appearance when she is around other members of the Doomed or at least away from formal settings.
Her body stands at around five foot ten inches, with a lean build to her. Having formerly been a Naval Captain, and commander of Kesh’s defensive fleets, she remains in peak physical condition. Similarly to this former position, she is more accustomed to wearing her old military uniforms, and still retaining her rank on request. This means that when she is not in her ceremonial armor and still on duty, she can be found wearing a military uniform rather than civilian clothing like most other members of the Doomed.
Personality: Outwardly and around others, Nida is the pure example of a Military officer, stoic and strict with keen eyes and a keen mind to match. This remains her outward persona though as over the years her mind has loosened up and she is rather relaxed around those that she trusts. Most notably is that of her king. Around Solan Charr, the woman takes on a role similar to a teacher, scolding him when he acts in ways that would be unbecoming of a king, having swatted his head after doing it by accident when he was laughing along with her. She would soon learn though that that only encouraged the lazy king and she herself found herself smiling and laughing on day along with him.
She loves knowledge and works to achieve perfection or atleast as close as she can come to such in most anything she does, making for her to be considered a bit of a work-a-holic. In truth this is because she sees it as the only way to truly understand those around her and understand the challenges she is given in life, knowing that she can't rely on luck to make up for ignorance.
Force Sensitivity: Apprentice
Weapon of Choice: Nida is a Jack of All trades character, one who has no really weapon of choice as she is proficient with most conventional weaponry, shows aptitude with the force, and formerly was a Captain of Kesh’s Flagship, showing hint of some tactical mind and understanding.
Skills:
Force Push
Tactical Training
Former Spec Ops Training
Wealth: Standard Officer Pay
Combat Function: This character is far more indirect with her fighting. While decent with a blade, she generally shows little interest in getting up close and personal to fight unless it is necessary. Much more interested in thinking out and commanding rather than personally being involved in the fighting. She is very capable with the force though, showing a much greater affinity for it as well as a keen eye with a blaster and more traditional weaponry.
Notable Possessions:
Ceremonial Armor
Ceremonial Blades
Two Curved Lightsabers, both dark blue
History: Nida Vaal was born to a prominent family which had kept their name and traced their ancestry back to the original Vaals, or rather the woman Adari Vaal. Named for the woman who Adari’s son had fallen for, she was put with a heavy weight on her shoulders almost from birth. So much so that even by the age of five, she was expected to be completing tasks years ahead of her in order to keep with her family’s legacy.
It was around the age of ten that she was pushed towards a military career by her household, with an older brother retaining role as future head of the household. This meant she was only needed as a backup and as such would be groomed to be able to prove her worth in other places should she never be needed. This meant at first long lessons on history, battle, tactics, mannerism, how one should act, eat, and even speak.
Years and years piled on as Kesh was taken under the sway of an occult group called the Moross. They would control her home for those two years following her introduction into this life. She had fully believed that her people would simply become a warmachine for them as a child, thinking that her life was going to be one as a warrior and nothing more, but that ended. The Moross disappeared and left behind a Sith as a tyrant, one that would remain for only so long.
It was the age of thirteen when she was introduced to the man whom she would serve under for the coming decade and a half. A quick overthrowing of the sith tyrant who had taken roost was caused by a young man whom didn’t look more than four years older than herself. She couldn’t quite understand how this had come to pass, nor why in the coming weeks her people would start following this man as he proclaimed himself king. He was simply another outsider who would use them for his own selfish gain and then be removed and replaced again.
Upon graduating at the age of seventeen, the woman was put in command of the Skyborn, flagship of the Keshiri Defense Fleet and forced to work directly with the man who ruled, the despot that held his hand over them. And upon their first meeting, she was shocked utterly. The man had come out and greeted her with a handshake, rubbing his eyes with the other as his hair was a messy patch on his head. His entire posture lacked any form and for a few moments she assumed this was some kind of joke as he continued to stand there.
It was this first look that made her appalled and interested in the man whom was her king. Continuously he showed less and less signs of being a man with the intent to rule over others. Outside of formal functions he was a mess, never able to make it to time tables set by himself, more interested in music, the well being of others, and a garden than his own personal wealth. And that was when she began serving directly with him as he used his legionnaires in battles.
She first fought with him during the years among the Shadow Empire, Captain of the Skyborn and Commander of the Shadow Legion. Given these positions to lead and demonstrate her abilities while he fought close and personal. First fighting against a unknown force, one that was simply pirates but then later involved directly in the battle between the Primeevil and the Shadow Empire. Their time there would not last though, taking their leave as the Empire collapsed. Her last mission during that time being to seize control of the Empire’s fleet and transport it to Kesh.
For a few more years things were quiet, commanding the Skyborn and Shadow Legion in constant raids on Slavers and Pirates. Working right beside her king and slowly admiring the man yet still finding his mannerisms completely confusing an foreign. She started correcting him, being called his mother by him even though she was younger and finding herself scolding him when he was too casual about things.
It was during that time that the Vitae became the new focus of her King attention, and as such her own. There she first found what mass death looked like and it was the first time she felt something else. On Melinda she was treated to an empty sensation, a great loss of life in the wake of a catastrophic asteroid strike that had wiped out a great portion of the populace. Her time there spent helping people but exploring this new feeling.
Soon though it was back to war, as the Vitae took up arms against the Hutt Cartel. Several battles followed, several where she was forced to fight on the ground and watch the damage suffered by her leader. She remained fine, healthy and focused, yet she saw what pain and suffering over the loss of a loved one looked like in him. It made her wonder if she would feel that way had her brother ever died.
Then the long years of nothing. Years spent building up her home, welcoming off worlders, refugees, immigrants and foreign companies.
These were not bad things though, it created instead a push towards progress her people had not seen since the days of the Lost Tribe’s rule, and yet this time it was not one of a heavy handed tyrant. This man was a Despot, that was without denial, but she came to find the joy in a life outside of war and military. It was that time that she explored her feeling from Melinda.
The force as she had been taught, was a companion. And she studied the notes given to her greatly. She excelled in her studies of this force, this companion and her work with a blade fell behind the interest in the force itself. She found herself more than interested by it and wanting to know more.
So she continues to study it, working through these problems in front of her while still serving as Captain of the Skyborn, Commander of the Shadow Legion, and now chief protector of Solan Charr.
Intent: To provide another fully realized NPC to go along with The Doomed force order.
