Night Lift on Nar Shaddaa (Sam Jhovna)

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

After spending the last two days on Nar Shaddaa repairing his ship Kamikaze, Hawk was ready for some downtime. He decided to go to a local bar called The Sarlacc Pit. Most of the locals called it the Pit. Hawk had been there a few times when he had been a smuggler. The place had good ale and cheap food.

Hawk changed from his grease overhauls to nice pair of blue jeans, green shirt, and black leather jacket. In the jacket is where he hide his saber. In a place like this he didn't want to call attention to being a Jedi.

By the time, Hawk arrived the Pit was rocking. Hawk grab a table near the dance floor. Since joining the Silver Jedi, he found himself enjoying dancing and have fun. The Jedi Order had been too stuffy for his taste.

"Hey handsome. You with somebody?"

A familiar figure waltzed up the table and placed her hands on her hips. Beaming a bright smile and tempting a wild wink. She had already noticed he'd come alone.

"Hehe. Mind if I join you for a drink?"

Unlike last time, Sam was dressed for a mission. A brown and red EVA bodyglove, magboots, and powered gloves too. All she was missing was the helm and the spacepack. If she had been dancing already tonight, it was in zero G.

Hawk flashes her a lopsided smile. He could never forget her. "Hi Sam. Been awhile." He motions for her to take seat. "Please join me. I've been hoping to run into you again since I left the Order." It had been hard. He lost some friends when he made the decision to follow his master.

A waitress droid rolled over to the couple. "I've have an ale." He would have order two ale but wasn't sure if Sam was allow to have it. He knew the Jedi Order was more restrict now with the new grandmaster.

"Just a Habeck tonic. I'm working today. Thanks."

It was a fancy way to order a bottled water.

"...Thanks Hawk. I hadn't heard. About your leaving, I mean. What prompted the change?"

She took a seat and looked around. Hadn't expected to meet a familiar face out this far. Especially not a charmer like Hawk Solo.

Water. So he was right. Poor Sam was on duty. No fun for her tonight. "My Master left order. She wasn't happy with the changes the GrandMaster was making. It was hard decision to leave. I didn't like the restriction they were placing on me. I couldn't give up my daughter after just finding out about her. It is an attachment. I just couldn't do it. Family is important to me." He knew that the Order came first. "There has to be some sort of balance."

The droid came back with their drink order. "Place it on my tab. Solo, Hawk." He place his thumb on the pad. The droid rolls off.
Hawk wraps his hand around the mug of Ale. "I told Iella in the beginning I wasn't cut to be a monk."

Sam smiled and brightened at the thought of his daughter.

"Oh. You mean about Carn's new edicts. Hehe. Yeah, well. We all know he won't, can't, enforce them. It's just a bluff from a traditionalist living in the past. But I understand your concerns. All of the Silver Jedi's concerns really. I think you made the right choice."

She noticed he picked up the bill. That was amazing. She would be sure to return the favor one day. Just a little secret she held to herself.

"How is she, by the way? Your daughter."

[member="Hawk Solo"]

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

"I don't know Sam. I think he can enforce it. He could make going into Knighthood harder. He could sanction people. Kick them out of the Order."

He takes a sip of his ale. "She is doing well. I get to see her quite a lot." He pauses for second. "May I ask you question? Why do you stay? You fit in well with us."

Sam shrugged. It was an interesting thought,

"Kiskla stays. So I stay. Someday Carn will die or leave office and then everything will be new again. I don't believe he'll enforce anything and if he does there won't be any Jedi left for him to command. So he'll resign, somebody else will step up, and we'll do this whole thing again tomorrow. Just sounds like a modern democracy to me. Hehe."

Being a Padawan had it's blessings. Nobody cared what you did. Where you went or with whom. Council members had standards and politics to consider. Sam had nothing but a lust for adventure.

"And that's great your daughter is well. Say hi for me. She sounds so cute."

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

Hawk nods. "True. Leadership can change but in the meantime, you aren't allow to live your life.. What if for example..you meet a handsome man, fall in love and want to get married. According to the rules you can't. You not even allow to dance. I know you love to dance." He couldn't help feeling passionate about he was saying.

"Sorry, if I am preaching to you. I just to hate to see a free spirit like you caged in by rules."

Sam raised a hand to stop him. It was cute, but a woman can make her own decisions. The white knight thing only works when a girl needs saving. Sam didn't need saving.

"Haha. Then I'll stop you right there. I know you mean well but seriously... There is no cage. My Master gives me as much space as I want and the Council never even stops by to chat. I couldn't be further from Carn's mysterious rules if I wanted to be. Hehe."

She leaned in and smiled,

"I'm fine Hawk. Really. It's okay. I feel great and couldn't be more empowered."

"Ok I'll stop but if you ever change your mind don't hesitate to contact me." He took another drink of his ale. "On to lighter subjects...how your love life? Anyone special?" He wanted to know if he had any competition for her attention. He was still nursing a major crush on her.

A Bith band started to play a familar tune. Hawk didn't know that had live music tonight. He prefer live music to juke box in the corner. There was something about hearing music from a band rather than a recording.

She smiled and blushed. A lighter subject. So cheeky. She loved it.

"Love life? Ha. ...Erm no. There are plenty of Jedi boys running around and fluttering for my attention. But they have nothing to offer other than a religion I already practice. Hehe."

She eyed the band. Live music was life-saving.

"I need a home. Family and possessions. A place to settle down and grow some roots. I want a normal life desperately but am torn between the Force and my desires. Love is just... Confusing, right now. There is so much of the galaxy calling my name. I just don't have the time anymore. I think I married my job."

Sam smirked and leaned back in her chair,

"Besides. Nobody else ever wants to dance. All I ever hear is: sparring, sparring, sparring. It's just not the same. Hehe."

[member="Hawk Solo"]

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

Hawk laughs. "Those boys are fools. I would rather dance than spar sometimes. Well...my sparing is like dancing." Hawk stands and offers Sam his hand. "Let's dance. We can give them something to talk about." A few people had notice what Sam was wear. It wasn't typical club clothing.

"Just don't step on my toes with those magboots"

He was a natural. She would be happy to assist. Sober and all.

"I would be happy too. I'll try not to Force it."

She smirked. Being a Jedi had it's advantages. She could control her body now to a miraculous degree. She could dance in clogs made of iron.

Sam stood and followed Hawk to the dance floor. On this far away moon, she didn't care what anyone thought about her. This was for fun.

"So. What brings you out here? Don't tell me you came to Nal Hutta for a little mood music?"

She could dance and talk at the same time. Confident he could too.

Hawk lead her to the dance floor. He held her confidently in his arms as they begin to dance around the floor together. "No. I came here to get my ship hyperdrive overhauled. It was overdue. I can't do it all by myself so I have friend who does amazing stuff with a hydrospanner."

"You look like your for action. What is your story?" He wishes that she was wearing some of her short mini dress instead of this outfit.

Jsc

"Hunting a jeweler actually. It's a long story but he got spaced in the end. Guess the gangsters didn't appreciate the fake crystal he was selling. Anyways, long story. It was a work day. Suit came in handy."

She shrugged. It was bad luck to talk business on the dance floor. That's how accidents happened. Best to change the subject.

"Oh. I forgot to ask about your love life? Found anybody yet amongst the Silver Clans?"

It was a musing question but open.

[member="Hawk Solo"]

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

He nods as he listens to her day. The jeweler got spaced. He hoped it wasn't anyone he knew. He smiles lopsided at her question about his love life.

"No. Not yet. I'm still living the life of a monk." He says with wink. "Seriously I've been too busy. I'm going through my trials and spending time with Maddie. It hard finding a woman who understand my commitment to my daughter and the force."

In a galaxy with trillions of people, Sam knew the feeling. Never before in history were there more able bodied people to romance. The fish in the sea were endless. And that could be overwhelming at times.

Sam didn't reply but rather danced for just a little bit longer. Then she wiped her brow and motioned back to the table,

"Woo. Haha. Guess it's catching up to me."

Burning the candle at both ends did that to ya.

"Well. I should probably go and let you get back to your overhaul. But it's been fun catching up Hawk. I hope everything works out for you in the future. Stop by the Temple anytime. It's been fun. Yeah?"

There was something changing about Sam. Slowly but surely. She was becoming more of a soldier and less like a party girl everyday.

The blond waited for [member="Hawk Solo"] to say good bye.

[member="Sam Jhovna"]

"Yeah, it was nice seeing you again." He really wished that she would stay. In the short time that they hang out, he could see the difference in her. He hoped that she didn't lose the party girl side totally. Like he told her there has to be balance in life... Just like the force.

He gives her hug and kisses her cheek. "Remember if you ever need someone to dance with give me call."

She smiled,

"Will do. Say hi to your daughter for me. ...Ciao."

With a wave she moved to the leave the fun location behind. There was a big galaxy out there and it was already calling her name. Maybe she really was married to her job. Only time would tell.
