Night on the city world.

Padawan Vincent Jusik sat in the back corner of an upper scale cantina located on Coruscant's mid levels. He'd traveled back to where he'd first met that original Jedi because he felt he needed a break from the monotonous lessons he'd been learning on Ossus. Vincent knew it was all necessary but that didn't stop them from being any less boring.

The music was loud, the women beautiful, and the drinks were flowing. Though the booze was something Vincent couldn't bring himself to partake of anymore, being a Jedi. His newly made saber sat clipped on his belt, it's constant weight a continuing reminder of his new loyalty. The crystal that'd called to him had shown with a pure yellow. Something he hadn't expected. Most of his fellow students had received blues or greens, the apparent color of Guardians and Counselors.

Yellow was traditionally the color of the arguably the most versatile classification of Jedi. The Sentinel. Vincent had supposed it made sense given his non traditional background and unique perceptions, granted along with a mindset few other Jedi shared. Force knew where this road would take him.

He pondered these things as he continued to sit in his little corner of the establishment.

@[member="Vulpesen"]

Vulpesen smiled as he walked into the bar. Having lived as a street rat on multiple planets, he had learned to thrive off this kind of atmosphere. Using the force to search out the light that lay within the cantina, Vulpesen blended in quite easily, exchanging pleasant words to several of the females around him. Of course, he had a job so any proposals were politely shot down, not that he'd take them on a normal day. Just before getting in range, the jedi made a quick request to the bartender, asking for a glass of Correllian whiskey as he made his way to @[member="Vincent Jusik"].

Sitting down next to the man, Vulpesen placed one hand on the table, using the force to guide a sliding glass into his palm while the other hand was held out to the older jedi. "Seems your a bit new to these places." His voice was easy and friendly, and a mischievous light shined in his eyes. In contrast, the two seemed to have nothing in common, and though the knight could easily pick up on their already obvious differences, he was also wel aware that such pairings sometimes made the best partnerships. "Vulpesen Espadus Torrevaso, Shadow of the jedi order." At the end of the words, a small blue head poked out from the collar of his robes, seeming to examine the padawan. "Oh, and this is Ace."

Vincent shook the smooth talking Knight's hand @[member="Vulpesen"] as he took a seat and ordered his drink.

"It's been a while, been stuck at the temple mostly." Vincent replied with a grin. A shadow? That was a rarity within the order, a classification reserved for those certain few who held the right combination of investigative and combat skills to track darksiders where they hide.

"I'm sure the shadows have been awfully busy lately, given how many Sith must've tried to hide in other systems after their systems collapsed."

The Padawan waved to the small creature that was study in him from Vulpesen's robes.

"Yeah, but we do get breaks some time. Seem's I'm currently off my normal duties to do some training at the temple, both for myself and others. Still, that doesn't mean that I don't get any adventure." Being a part time teacher, most of Vulpesen's duties at the temple had consisted of filling out reports and teaching lightsaber forms until some conflict happened which cleared him to go in for combat. "So, what do you plan on doing in the order?" As proud as he was of his adventures, there was a time and place to discuss them and for now, learning about @[member="Vincent Jusik"] would make him a far easier student to teach. "Surely some career field has caught your interest."

"A few." Vincent replied with a sly grin. He'd actually wondered a bit about @[member="Vulpesen"] own career field for quite a while at this point.

He played with the edge of the table a bit as he continued.

"I've looked heavily into the Investigators, things of that nature. My mother is a detective back on Bespin and I'm pretty damn observant if I don't say so my self. Maybe the shadows. I'm not sure. You folk are so shrouded in mystery it's hard to tell whether I'd want that life. Though I suppose the career will be whatever the force wills it."

"I've met a few investigators. Not a bad group. Just not my taste. As for shadows, our life isn't for everyone and even I sometimes get annoyed by the secrecy." Ace slipped down from his robes and moved to take a sip of his drink, only to be lifted away while Vulpesen's other hand brought the glass to his mouth. After his drink was set back down, he continued talking, ignoring a disgruntled wine from the miniature glowing wolf in his hands. "But you are right. The force will find its own path, and will place you where it wishes." Lifting the drink up, Vulpesen finished the glass and tipped a few drops for Ace who barked happily. "Now unless you had some plan for this place, I suggest we find an area more suitable for two jedi such as ourselves."

@[member="Vincent Jusik"]

"Not particularly. I just like the music. Women." Vincent said with a sigh.

"Have any ideas?"

Vincent was curious as to why @[member="Vulpesen"] had actually shown up in this particularly cantina on Coruscant and sought him out directly. Their had to be a reason. Some sort of agenda, always was with these sort of secretive Jedi, not that he minded. Vincent watched the small creature the Shadow had brought with him with a bit of curiosity.

"Certainly." Walking out of the establishment, Vulpesen shared a small glance with Ace. In truth, he'd been out on a small mission. "There were a few drug dealer's in the area and though the time wasn't right to strike them a large blow, a bit of help in the investigation would be helpful." Besides, he had been informed that @[member="Vincent Jusik"] was in need of a master and Vulpesen in his usual form had elected to throw him into the fray. After all, one didn't get better by sticking in their comfort zone, and Vincent's reactions would be a good gauge of character. Of course, the padawan would have to know eventually and sooner rather than later. But, sooner didn't mean right now, and thus Vincent was given little more explanation as to their destination.

Vincent followed @[member="Vulpesen"] out of the cantina and out into the bustling crowds along the "sidewalk."

"Where are we going?" Vincent asked as he followed the more senior Jedi through the fray. Something else was certainly going on, that much was obvious. The older Jedi seemed to be scheming.

The jedi smiled and stopped at a nearby building and leaned against the side of it. Passing a glance to Ace, he sent the small wolf a telepathic command, "Check it out." Turning back to the apprentice, Vulpesen kept his voice low. "The afore mentioned drug dealers are hiding out in there, likely discussion shipments. I can sense quite a few people in there but right now, Ace is checkiing the exact numbers."

@[member="Vincent Jusik"]

"Alright." Vincent replie as he crouched and followed @[member="Vulpesen"] toward the dealers hideout. Hopefully they'd be able to discern the specifics of their dealings and put them away. Vincent had a special disdain for those that made a career on the weaknesses of others.

The elder knight sat down and stayed in for a few moents, toying with alone of his twenty daggers as he waited for something. "Funny how they always get those shocked faces." After the stray comment Vulpesen would cock his head to the side, as if hearing a far off noise. "Show time." Getting back up to the feet, Vulpesen grinned and used the force to open a window which he then leaped through, giving @[member="Vincent Jusik"] enough room to enter through as well. "Now then, might I suggest you all place your weapons on the ground. You are under arrest and are to be placed under interrigation by Coruscant security forces adn the jedi order. Any hostile actions will be met wi-" To be honest, he got farther than he thought he would by the time the men started shooting at him.

The building would seem to light up and glow with the blaster fire inside as twenty men shot at the jedi with every weapon they had. Of course, that took a sudden change when a howl sounded off behind them and their attention was split. Now ten of them were searching the area for a man who wasn't there and that gave Vulpesen the chance he needed. "This is the point I need you. Please be swift in your attack as Ace's distraction will only last so long. And please try not to kill them."

Vincent leapt behind a large set of grates before @[member="Vulpesen"] had finished his sentence, igniting his saber as he did. The bright yellow blade shown brilliantly in the dimmed building the dealers had decided was fit to talk business in. As he did he also drew his blaster.

No dead? Ok. Vince could do that.

The Shadow hadnt said anything about maimed though.

Vincent slipped from behind his cover and rushed two of the individuals, removing one's hand and putting a neat hole int the other's leg before they had time to react.

Vulpesen moved quickly to the padawan's side, using his two sabers to deflect bolts back to the limbs of their enemies. He was quick, and direct, something Vulpesen enjoyed. Still, his form would need refining as with every other young jedi. Such a thing would come in time. After a few moments of defending, Vulpesen moved on to press his offensive, confident in @[member="Vincent Jusik"]'s abilities. With him, Ace leaped from place to place striking at joints and ligaments with his sharp teeth and claws, causing several men to collapse as they lost their ability to move their limbs. Two jedi and a squirrel from hell, the criminals didn't seem to have much of a chance.

Vincent continued pressing forward as @[member="Vulpesen"] and his pet leapt into the action. They were doing quite well for their first time as teammates, and had obviously thrown the organized smugglers into disarray. It was sorta empowering.

Vincent sliced another blaster and shoved a criminal into a heavy box with the full weight I his shoulder, knocking the wind out of him and causing him to collapse.

Nearly done.

The jedi grinned and dashed forward, bringing his saber through two other weapons. The criminals were left staring at their smoking barrels as the jedi sent a spinning kick into their chests, sending them to the ground. Still, the men were to be given some credit as their distraction allowed their friend to take a chance shot which put a very nice burn on the side of Vulpesen's left arm. "Son of a-" His turn completed and he lifted up his right hand, calling upon the force to bring up his enemy who was then hurled into a wall where he dropped his gun and stopped moving. He was alive, but there was no way in hell that man was gonna be doing much to damage to the two jedi. By this time, four men had gotten the hint that it was time to surrender and thus, they turned around and ran for their lives, attempting to leave the jedi alone with the prisoners.

He pointed at @[member="Vincent Jusik"]. "You go after the men on the right, I'll take the ones on the left. We cannot let them warn their friends. Ace will be with you in case there's a problem." The jedi had been called for the delicate nature of this operation and though Vulpesen could get men to cover the building, these runners would need personal attention lest they break the months of work put in my Coruscant security. As Ace lept to the padawan's shoulder, Vulpesen called on the security forces to close in on the building while the jedi set to work. He was fairly confident in Vincent's abilities and this proved the perfect test for the kid.

Vincent nodded to @[member="Vulpesen"] 's instructions and took off toward the criminals that'd taken off to their immediate right. The small creature that'd hopped onto his shoulder was a bit of a comfort as he leapt onto the top of a series of boxes to get a vantage point on the scum.

Alright.

Time it.

Vincent dove into the small group of sprinting criminals. He smashed two of them against containers on the opposite side and sliced the leg of another in half. The fourth he shot with a blaster he snatched out of the third's holster.

A couple more pew pews and the problem had been solved non lethally albeit with multiple career ending injures. Vince painted slightly at the exertion, having tapped into the force more than he was used to.

He then went about binding the hands of those who could still use them.

Vulpesen's reactions were fast as well as he reached the men. Both turned to fire at the more experienced jedi but they quickly found their bolts deflected into the alley walls while the shadow closed in between them. "Excuse me gentlemen." His saber deactivated as the criminals fumbled to point their blasters at their unnaturally fast enemy. "Too late." His hilt cracked against the skull of one man while he slammed his boot into the other one's chest, sending him into the wall. It was a very guardian like tactic, but hey, whatever works. Tying the men up, he convinced the more conscious one to help him drag his unconscious buddy back to the building. "Hows it goin?" Ok, so maybe Ace was there for more than security reasons. As he made to to the building, the jedi stopped inside and waited, sharing a telepathic conversation with his wolfish companion.

@[member="Vincent Jusik"]

Vincent watched Ace appeared to be preoccupied with something while he finished up binding the wounded dealers. Odd little motions the creature was making. They'd forgotten to exchange com information.

Time to communicate the old fashion way.

"GOT EM." Vincent shouted to @[member="Vulpesen"]

Vulpesen placed his men with Coruscant security and made his way to @[member="Vincent Jusik"]. He was fast, he had to give him that. "Holind out his hand, he allowed Ace to leap to his arm then up to his shoulder. "Very good. For now, it seems we've done our job. Now, the officials will clean this up and we should get the Intel we need. When they're done, the bosses will have a nasty surprise of jedi bustin' through their doors." Turning around, Vulpesen beckoned the apprentice to follow him as he moved out of the building, towards a set of bins.

Leaping onto the bins, the shadow turned around and relaxed against the wall behind him. "So tell me, what did you do wrong?" The question was said with a direct but casual tone, as if it were a simple thing like, what's your favorite color? Vulpesen knew that such a lesson wouldn't be pleasant, but the life of a jedi was not one of ease and with its many hard decisions, it was imperative that those who followed the path knew the effects of their actions and decisions.
