Survival on the world known as Dathomir is never assured; especially if one is a member of the Nightbrother caste. Daily life is the definition of grueling and many consider the harsh conditions to be amongst the most challenging in the Galaxy. It was in light of this reality that Stargo Forge Works conceived and developed its first project: a fighting knife inspired by the plight of the Nightbrothers. Although staffed by a noticeably small circle, the budding corporation was able to produce a moderate number of these armaments. Of course, due to the small sum available, the price of the Nightbrother Fighting Knife is noticeably higher than that of comparable items.
In terms of aesthetics, the armament appears as a "bowie knife" of above average length. Its hilt is composed of Veshok Wood, a durable hardwood native to Mandalore. Furthermore, the hilt is wrapped in a fine layer of black leather; both for aesthetic effect and to make wielding the weapon comfortable. Each Nightbrother Fighting Knife is stamped with "SFW" at the base of the blade and comes standard with a leather scabbard.
In terms of overall capabilities, the Nightbrother Fighting Knife began as little more than Zersium. Through applying the most basic of alchemical processes and treating the product with a "Sith Whetstone", the resulting armament gained a small sum of Alchemy's common traits. First and foremost amongst these is its impressive durability, which is just a cut above that of durasteel. However, the most striking part of its durability is the guarantee that its cutting edge will never dull. On another note, the alchemical processes granted the Nightbrother Fighting Knife with imperviousness to the blades of lightsabers.
However, while its features are impressive, the armament is not without its drawbacks.
To begin, the reversal of the Knife's magnetic polarity was omitted from the alchemical process. In light of this, the weapon does not have any pronounced, defensive capabilities when facing blasters or lasers. Furthermore, while its durability has been augmented through alchemy, it is not of the same "nigh invincible" caste as masterwork products. Due to this, Nightbrother Fighting Knives can be melted, shattered, or otherwise destroyed on the field of battle. Lastly, despite being hardened against the blades of lightsabers, the Nightbrother Fighting Knives are...knives. While longer than average and suitable for combat, the typical lightsaber's reach far extends that of the Knife. As such, caution is advised when using the Knife against a duelist of any sufficient skill.
Drawbacks aside, the Nightbrother Fighting Knife is an excellent armament that would suit a wide variety of individuals.
