Description

Centuries ago, Arakyd Industries contributed numerous droids and technologies to the war efforts of the original Confederacy. Amongst these was the Chameleon Droid: an automaton that wielded holograms as a means of achieving camoflauge. Now, in the modern era, Arakyd Industries has re-imagined and miniaturized the traits which brought the Chameleon Droid infamy, creating a new tool for personal usage. Known as the "Nighthawk" Module, this piece of technology consists of a small holoprojector, processing unit, and scanner all encased in a light shell of Durasteel. Upon being mounted to the wearer, "invisibility" is achieved by the Module's active scanning of the surrounding environment. This data is then utilized by the processing unit to project a hologram in front of the wearer, which is an exact replica of the environment directly behind them. It is to be noted that, due to the gyro-balance circuitry incorporated into the processing unit, movement on the part of the wearer will not adversely affect the projection in the slightest.

However, while the Nighthawk Module grants camoflauge to the naked eye, there are many limitations to its scope. First and foremost, much akin to the Chameleon Droids of the past, the module only projects a hologram of what is immediately behind the wearer. This means that the wearer is "invisible" only to the eyes of those looking directly forward, but not to those looking from behind or the sides. While this shortcoming can be overcome by wearing multiple modules, with each addressing one of the four cardinal directions, the sheer expense of doing so limits this method to the wealthier individuals of the Galaxy. In addition, the Nighthawk Module does not allow the wearer to evade any other means of perception. Various scanners and the Force can detect a user of the module just fine.

Despite these limitations, the Nighthawk Module is poised to grant its wearers a tactical edge on the field of battle. Whether it be aiding in a daring escape or hiding an ambush from sight, the Nighthawk is always ready to give a customer the drop on their enemies. Satisfaction, as always, is guaranteed!

As this provides a form of "cloaking" in the visual sense, please lower the production to limited, alternatively you may include a 10 post development thread to keep minor.
