- Dark Secret: Mr. DeAquila is owned by the Coruscanti Mafia, also known as “The Family”. The depth of this secret debt is known only to the highest echelons of the powerful Crime Syndicate & DeAquila himself; were this information ever to come to light, it would surely damage his reputation beyond repair.
As the CEO of Moonveil Communications & Holdings, Inc., “Mr. D’Aquila” (as he’s spoken of by those who know him personally) commands respect through unyielding dedication to his business, his Family name, and his reputation. He has stood as the figurehead of Moonveil, Inc. for years - directing the Company with an iron fist. His identity is a secret to most of the Corporation’s employees, simply referred to as “The Boss”.
Mr. D’Aquila has been present since Moonveil’s creation, serving as the Corporation’s highest Administrative authority. Coruscant still serves as the company’s primary offices, though he is rarely seen - instead relying on the Board of Directors, many of whom reside on Coruscant, to manage the company’s daily business. Instead, he now resides primarily on Denon as one of the Direx Board’s executive officers.
Having been the driving force behind Moonveil’s contact with the Galactic Senate & the Corporate Authorities of Denon (CAD), Mr. D’Aquila was instrumental in successfully navigating the minefield of galactic Corporate Politics. Eventually, he was offered an opportunity to join the Direx Board on CAD’s capital-world of Denon, an Ecumenopolis in the Denon System. While considered a “boon” by many, Moonveil’s position is quite distinct - their inclusion in the Direx is considered tenuous at-best as numerous Corporations vy for power and a share of the Market. If Moonveil is unable to hold up their end of the bargain struck with CAD (namely, to vote how they’re directed & maintain total transparency between themselves and the Corpocracy), they can be cast aside immediately and replaced. Essentially, Moonveil’s membership in the Direx “Club” may be rescinded at any moment if profits fall or their interests take precedence over that of the Direx.
