Merlon Assail is a Coruscanti human male, heavily scarred around the right eye, cheekbone, and temple. He generally appears in the uniform of an NIO naval officer.
BIOGRAPHY:
Captain Merlon Assail was born and raised on Coruscant. His lower-middle-class family died, of course, during the One Sith invasion. By that point Merlon was a seasoned officer of the Republic. He spent the next several years in rearguard action after rearguard action, failure after failure - some of his own making, many at the hands of his superiors. When the Republic finally evaporated, Merlon was the captain of a light cruiser in poor repair. He disbanded his crew on worlds that seemed safe, sold the damaged vessel outright as if it was his own, and disappeared.
He found work for the next couple of years as a tactics instructor at the Levantine Astronautical Academy, and served in the Levantine Frontier Corps for a time, pushing the boundaries of known space. But there was a restlessness in his heart, an urge to accomplish - to finally win, to build something more permanent and worthwhile than he'd experienced with the Republic.
In time he signed on with the New Imperial Order. As an experienced and weathered commander, he was assigned to the Praefect-class Star Destroyer Scorn.
