Faction [NJO] An introduction to the Galaxy || Coruscant Jedi Temple (Any NJO Welcome)

Igrin Fell made his way to the very first place he thought of when it came to training himself in the ways of the force. Coruscant. The home of the Galactic Alliance and more importantly, the primary hub of the Jedi Order.

Igrin had for years practiced in utilizing the force for very basic things. Things like Telekinetically moving things, trying to influence some of his peers with weaker mental states than the average sentient life form. But he always knew that he would never be able to fully unlock his powers without training from a proper master in the force. Although, being 27 years of age he was well aware that the Jedi could quite possibly turn him away from their order as he did have goals and designs of his own on the greater galaxy.

Arriving upon Corellia in his dented Ghtroc 720 freighter, he was greeted by the massive metropolis planet that lived up to its well earned reputation. This was, quite fittingly, the center of the entire galaxy.

He had worked tirelessly just to limp the hunk of junk to Coruscant from Corellia - but he had finally made it. After docking his ship at a local spaceport, and stopping by a few local stalls to grab some sustenance and to sample the local delicacies - Igrin purchased a ride directly to the Jedi Temple where he hoped that his future would potentially start.

As he approached the grand stair case Igrin felt his heart jumping into his throat. He realized that a great portion of his life could potentially be forged inside of the walls of this monastic order. Was he really ready to give up certain things in his life? Was he ready to snuff out the deep burning fires of desire that he had already been suppressing through the cold calculative nature that he had honed? At this very moment, no he was not ready to put out the burning desires that he had and the vision that he had for the galaxy - but he knew that in order to see some of those goals come to fruition, he would first need to be trained - and he was willing to listen to any teachings the Jedi may have to offer him.

You know that feeling you get when someone is watching you?

That strange feeling that there's something big and sinister going on in the galaxy?

When you walk up the stairs to the Jedi Order, that feeling can sometimes creep up on you. It's an odd place for that to happen, but more than one person, including Jedi, have reported the sensation.

Sometimes, it comes and goes. An odd, terrifying feeling that they are being hunted. But it usually goes away, and most people only experience it once.

Others, though, they get it all the time. It's irregular, unpredictable, but it happens.

Few, though, are unfortunate enough to know the truth. They are the unlucky enlightened, for they have seen the hunter. It stalks the stairs to the Jedi Temple, beholding all those who enter its domain, when it deigns to oversee its underlings, all those who live in its kingdom.

Most are beneath its notice. Those it sees are rarely worth its time. Some have been chosen to be enlightened one day, but that day has yet to come. And when it finally chooses to strike, there is no hope. There is nowhere to hide, and nowhere to run on the stairs to the Jedi Temple and this is why it hunts here.

One can only accept the inevitable.

Today, though, Igrin Fell Igrin Fell was unfortunate enough to be chosen. It was his first time here, and It had chosen him. He could not have known it was there. Perhaps that is a mercy, to be struck without the dread of knowing it was coming.

But to know it is there is a curse one must bear forever. And it is his time to know.

It had chosen him.

Before Igrin, there was a blur of motion as a very furry figure on a skimboard rode past him.

"Hey, buddy! Catch!"

A small, dark object was tossed at him, too fast to be made out quickly, but not anywhere hard enough to hurt. Once caught, Igrin would behold a very realistic looking but comical blue slug.

Igrin had felt the creeping feeling of eyes being upon him. He knew that ever so subtle icy chill that runs down your spine when an unseen predator lurks beyond the confines of the naked eye. He had felt it many times in both his trade runs with the guild, but also in the academy where his instructors kept a constant watchful eye on all of the pupils. Although what struck him was that he didn't expect to feel that same sense of dread as he approached the Jedi Temple, this was meant to be a place of peace, and harmony... At least that's what he had heard rumors about.

As he continued to ascend the steps he heard the unmistakable sound of a voice, "Hey, buddy! Catch" before seeing what looked like a small blur tossed in his direction. Almost as if instinctively he raised his hands to catch or block the blue slug-like object before the object stopped in the middle of the air.

Igrin in his state of panic had telekinetically reached out through the force in an instinctual effort to defend himself.

For a moment the object floated in place, rotating slowly around as the force wrapped itself around the toy. And in the single blink of an eye the object fell down from its telekinetic grasp as Igrin looked up, the force withdrawing back into his mind and body.

Igrin now stood looking at the toy raised an eyebrow before looking back up to the Cathar.

"Would you like it back?!" His voice raised as surely the Cathar was riding away on the skimboard.

Gem turned about, riding past him, more slowly this time, such that Igrin Fell Igrin Fell was able to get a better look at her. She was a young girl wearing pathwork jacket, curly hair, blue-gray fur, and a white snout. She also had a Lightsaber secured to her belt - clearly a Padawan. She rode her Skimboard around the new arrival as she spoke.

"Hey, you're pretty good! Don't worry, it's just a toy," Gem held up another one of them and squeezed it. The slug made a wheezing squeaky noise, "Consider it a gift, I've got like five more on me. I haven't seen you before. Did you come in from some deep cover mission, deep in the Outer Rim, and now the mission's done and you've got to return to the Temple, and re-learn how to be a Jedi and leave your fake identity behind...But have you become the mask after all this time?"
