- Difficult to Hit: Due to its small size, shooting or attempting to control. This is also due to its Reflec Armor that makes scanners unable to lock onto it.

- Dumb Droid: These droids are only programmed with the needed material such as which other droid to connect to and follow specific relay beacon that a radio carries.
- Sight to Sight Communications: Due to being a Laser Communications Relay, these droids need to be in the line of sight of another Droid, or a radio with another Laser Communications Beacon.
- Relay Degradation: If a message is relayed between a Radio, Droid, Radio, no information will be loss. However, if a message is relayed between a Radio, Droid, Droid, then a Radio, 10% of the message will be lose and each droid added to chain will add another 10%.
The NN-13 Communications Relay Droid is often needed in the invasion of many planets that rely on Jamming enemy communications. The NN-13 was designed after Jaster Awaud requested the company, a member of the United Trade Conglomerate, to come up with a way to implement a droid that could relay Laser Communications between radio operators. There was an easy already fast way that the company was able to get the droid completed and it was immediately placed in mass production with the UTC financing its build.
These droids are designed to have limited programed information to solve problems. There were specially made to follow the orders of following a designated Radio Beacon that is carried by a Radio Operator, Vehicle, or Ships Droid Operator. They have an unlimited range for communications, but the only limitation is that it must be in sight of the signal being sent out to it and the receiver of the message. If they are not within sight of both, it will connect to a droid in proximity and have that relay droid sent it so the operator or another droid. This will continue until the message is relayed to another operator.
The NN-13 Droid is a closely secured product, being only sold to those who create contracts with the UTC and Natass-Tech. Even tampering with a NN-13 would force a complete deletion of programing and encryption codes. Only connecting to the NN-13 Control Pack would a operator be able to enter the Encryption Code as well as connect the Droid to a Radio Beacon that it would be ordered to follow once activated.
