No spaghetti in the west

The twin suns of Tatooine were burning down upon the sand and rock of the deserts, heating up the world as per usual, most people coming and going to whatever tasks were needed on the planet, mostly staying around the areas such as Anchorhead. However further out in the dunes of the planet were small towns set up by settlers in the dunes, under attack from both bandits and sand people alike, living there was not for the faint of heart. One such town stood alone in the dunes, not much to look at, and with no name either, the only ways one would know about it is from looking at charts, or from stumbling across it themselves. It had a few basic amenities, a doctor's, a cantina, a bank, and some farmland, and of course, the jail. The sheriff of this town was currently relaxing in his chair in the jail, hands behind his head as he stared out the window at the sands outside; getting ready for another day on the job.

This world was like a magnet for trouble or in some cases interest in finding any number of things.. such as the oasis.... Anaara had searched for it and even from orbit it was hard to find it in an endless desert. So she was on the ground with some of her commando droids.. looking like simple protocol droids and service droids who would handle well her stuff. She could move around and check out the area before the.... she was going through the streets of the port city with its high wals to protect from the sand people... the sound of jawa's scurrying along and around watching the droids before she put her hand sin her pocket.s

Within the port there was an old man, hunched over with age he shuffled along, mumbling to himself about the safety of this place, and how it was getting too comfortable, not like the Oasis Coalition, that part being mumbled about as he passed by [member="Anaara Clandestine"] luckily enough for her, he seemed to be recalling how to get there to himself, along with handy coordinates for the town nearest the oasis where he shall be returning to. He continued hobbling as he vanishes into the desert sands, off on his way back to the town with no name.

She was roaming but then something happened.. they had gotten information... coordinates of where they could go and look and a small outpost town int he dune sea might be strange but it would be a decent place to go and hope they have signs of the oasis itself. SHe was willing to go with them and head to the town grabbing enough equipment and glad that she had the temperature regulated clothing for out here in the desert that would be able to keep sand from getting anywhere. She slid the combat knife and field pistol onto her hip for protection and a small cord for her hair to keep it from blowing itno her face. "Alright lets head out."

Greyd remained reclined on his chair, leaning it back so the front two legs were off the ground, his feet kicked up on his desk. As he was relaxing in the more peaceful part of the day, just between where the thieves went to bed and when the murderers finished plotting, he gazed up at the sky, it was a good job, working as the law in this town, not quite as good as when he got called in to do Ranger work, but a close second on his favourite jobs to be doing. However that was when he noticed two individuals entering the town, one he did not recognise apart from the logo on some of her items, some kind of tech businesswoman, good legal business as he remembered it. The other however he did know by reputation, a crime lord in Hutt Space as well as an oil tycoon. Weird thing to do for someone of his reputation to come up to a sheriff and ask such a question to him. He unholsters his blaster, pointing it lazily at Toa "I see one slime that the galaxy would be glad to see the back of. So how about I be giving you a ten minute head start to mosey along outta here?"

She had a look on her face and had been surprised at how quickly she had managed to get to the town... she had been looking forward to the trip though when they were moving around. She looked at the town itself and it was certainly in the middle of nowhere... her arms crossed for a moment less in annoyance then in comtemplation. She wanted to focus on it, she wanted to figure out where they were going when someone was speaking with a man behind a desk and she raised an eyebrow. Keeping her hands away from her weapon. She watched to see what might happen with this situation and was making note of the older model weapon.

The Empire did not seem very controlling of Tatooine, probably leaving it defenseless to draw the CIS in and then attack on a salient, but there still had to be some law and order to the desert planet. Not like many criminals where able to make it through the Imperial and Confederacy blocked on all the trade routs anyways so cracking down on certain Hutt would not really affect the economy. Walking down the main street accompanied by a squad of sand troopers the Imperial Medic scanned the surroundings, dressed in her officer armor, eyes glancing around at the different people. For the most part no one cared, unlike others and being a Twi'lek Lab was not going to harass any non humans.

in the distance though she could see a grouping of several people, two she recognized, a business partners [member="Anaara Clandestine"], and a seemingly slimy crime lord [member="Vee Toa"] who made strange allegation of owning the planet. "I hope I am not intruding on anything" Lab remarked standing behind the vigilantly looking man ([member="Greyd Oakenbough"]). "Doctor Clandestine nice to see you again... and you mister Toa, what are you dong back in Imperial Space? I have good mind an authority to arrest you on site you know"

Toa chuckled to himself but backed up, he cocked his gun at the Sheriff "I suggest not telling me what to do Sheriff! I could put a bounty on you so high that you couldn't go to a civilized area!"
[member="Greyd Oakenbough"][member="Anaara Clandestine"]

"True, you could go raisin' a bounty." he presses the barrel of the blaster to his head "Or I could pull this handy here motion lock trigger .4 inches back and stop you runnin' that mouth of yours permanently. So I give it to ya again. Leave my town alone. We ain't wanting none of your oil, and I ain't giving you no bounties. So hustle on hustler, my finger is getting real itchy." he looks up at the imperial who had wandered into his town "You imps may hold this planet, but the happenings of this here town lay firmly on me. But I must say when it comes to this here dirtball I won't object to no vigilante justice if you get my meaning." He remains well balanced on his chair in front of the jail, keeping his blaster trained on Toa

Lab gave a [member="Vee Toa"] Firm stare, "Tatooine lies deep in Imperial space and borders the CIS, so yes it is an Imeprial world and our government would never associate with criminal scum like you". "Far from it the Moff would execute you personally as an example to other Hutts to stay off our worlds". Her head then turned to the sherif, why they had one seemed a bit odd but perhaps they needed it, so many people continued to use the desert planet for all their illegal business despite the hardship of just reaching the planet. The dust ball as a front line world between the Empire and Confederacy, littered with knocked out tanks and aircraft craters and even a nuclear like blast area of the sandy dunes from the last attack, such a place would be the last location any one would want to set up.

"I am not sure who appointed you to your post 'Sheriff' ([member="Greyd Oakenbough"]) but as long as there is hostility between the Empire and the Confederacy this planet will remain under close Imperial watch". "Though you can dispense vigilantly justice where ever you see fit and I'll turn a blind eye". "Perhaps when the war is over this place can be a bit more peaceful but until then get used to my presence on ground okay", her tone was much more casual with the sheriff but still held an air of authority.

He smirked to himself as Vee left, flicking his pistol between his hands casually, feeling a lot more comfortable and patient with one threat out of the way. This little town was very nervous around others, especially those with criminal backgrounds, and Vee had more of a criminal foreground. Next the imperial approached him seeming to question his post. "The good people of this town appointed me it. As you imperials never stray too far out of Anchorhead these small frontier towns have been suffering with Sand Raiders and what have you. Since there's no resources for you spacefaring lot to exploit, we don't deal with many of your kind. So we set up our own law departments, keep the town safe when we can't afford a wall because all our resources have been plundered by various spacebound suppressors. Like your lot and him." he gestured to the way that Vee had gone, spinning his gun on his finger as he lays it on the table, breaking it open "Blasted thing is a dud. Last time I let the department buy from unknown sources. Just glad the bluff worked with slimeball. So anyway what does an imp like you want with a town miles away from anything and anywhere, somewhere between this dune and the next?"

Anaara looked at the mana nd was listenign tot he one who was.... different... then he was gone after being threatened with a look on her face. She was surprised to see Lab there but was also happy to see it. The twi'lek was a great person to have around with them while she stepped in next to her and looked at the woman. "Hey hey hey now, you are both pretty alright. We'll just see what we can do and besides we don't want to fight.... I came out here to try and find the oasis." She said it whle looking at Lab and raising an eyebrow while looking around and there were no soldiers here so she held out a hand towards her looking towards the sheriff. "ANd thank you."

"Well it is hard to do any of that when we are at war, but i understand, to bad i am just a medical officer with no real pull among the government just using my off time to try and help out where I can in a Xena-phobic regime and all". she replied to the man in a rather sarcastic tone. It was very easy to just blame the Imperial for everything and not note their own problems. "Look I know things have been bad, and in all honesty the only reason the empire was here is to secure it's borders not exploit the planet". "I am not sure about the other politics but I know for a fact that the Moffs a happy to let Tatooine run it'self, though I would like there to be some Imperial presence, but my view's are not adhered to much". With that out of the way and [member="Vee Toa"] hightailing it off world Lab turned attention to the other 'human' present."Now Dr [member="Anaara Clandestine"] what is this Oasis you talk of? another project for Sasori? colour me interested in this little expedition of yours".

Greyd chuckles, kicking his feet off the table his chair's front two legs slam onto the floor as he uses the momentum to stand up with "I like you, Twi'lek, you hold yourself unlike the last inquisition we got round these parts." as he looks up to the horizon he sighs "Good riddance to bad customers. Slimy toad." he grins, glad to have the crime lord off his patch for now. He swipes the blaster pieces into a drawer in the table.

As Anaara spoke up again, Greyd looks over to her; seemed she was after the oasis, for what reason he did not know, however it couldn't be used for ill, so perhaps it was more so she would know it existed. He chuckles at the reaction of Lab "The oasis is just that. An oasis, point of water and greenery in the middle of Ranger territory. We Sheriffs formed the Oasis Coalition in fact, sharing jurisdiction of our territories so that the towns that border the oasis can be better kept safe against Raider invasions and the like." he grabs his hat from a hook, putting it on as he grabbed an old slug thrower that was slung up next to it, checking it over. It was obvious this weapon was on its last legs, everything about it looked a few weeks away from giving it. He slung it over his back as he called into the jail "Reuce, take over jail watch." he looks back to Anaara "Come along then, I can take you to the oasis, ain't too far from here by speeder, and if we leave now then there shouldn't be many Sand People patrols nearby."

[member="Labkahip Mordulla"] [member="Greyd Oakenbough"]

She looked at Lab and was going to answer when the man spoke and she gave a nod of her head. "Well that and it was one of the places rumored to have survived what happened to the planet. Thousands of years of conflict and squabbling and this little place has survived. If we are able to study how it survived it could be a key to trying to help the planet or clues to what to look for on other worlds." She had ideas for the project but they would have a number of things as well like if they could she'd want to set up a small station to monitor it. With Lab here it could prove to be a romantic spot when the business woman was motioning and they could follow on speeder bikes. Hers was at least here and had survived whatever teleportation technology had been used to bring her from Mos Eisley to here.

Prepare for your... examination.
"Again I am not really military, the empire is more just short on hands, and I do this in my own time, though hopefully that Vee fellow does no show up anytime soon, what we don't need now it a Hutt starting a war in the middle of a current one". If that happened no one would win and Lab knew for a fact Vee would only make things worse and exploit the planet for more then just resources, but enough of that Dr [member="Anaara Clandestine"]'s reasons for being here where much more interesting. "You talk of an area that survived the massive wars that left Tatooine the place it is now, interesting, that is a project I would love to be involved in", there was also the possibility of using it for a small get away when off duty. "Well as always DR Clandestine you have my authority to do as you please, though I wish to accompany you are to avoid any mishaps like last time, though I do not see your gun ho pilot around". Either way it would be fun to see this paradise on the scorched world as well as spend some quality time.
