No Time to be Weak (Dara Gola)

Darth Rave, originally known as Sophie Gustav, sat in her quarters silent and intent. She sat at her desk in her chair with her great sithspawn pet Sebastian sitting nearby. His snoring was loud but didn't disrupt her thoughts. She already did what needed to be done. She made all the preparations she needed. All that was left was to await the one to carry out the final task. Her apprentice and lover and personal assassin, [member="Dara Gola"] , had been summoned to meet with her not ten minutes ago. The entire hour before had been spent in private. She made sure not to be disturbed by anyone or anything, having Sebastian as her guard outside the door the entire time. The entire time before she'd needed things ready. She needed things perfect. Yet even with everything set she still had an anxious look to her. She sat looking out the window to Courascant while fiddling with a holo-recorder in her hands, her finger trailing over it so often she could make out every detail by mind now. All she needed to do was wait.

Dara knocked softly as she entered. She had been summoned by her master [member="Darth Raven"]. She didn't know what would be required of her but it didn't matter, she would succeed. She was wearing her usual form fitting black pants and vest as well as her soft soled boots. Her lightsaber hung from her belt. She stepped into the room quietly and stood off to one side, " Master." She said with a bow. She knew that didn't need to be as subservient as she was, but to her it just felt right. She would bow much longer was nessessary, she felt that she owed Sophie more than she could ever repay, and she tried her hardest to repay the debt.

Sebastian had stirred upon the arrival of [member="Dara Gola"] . He seemed ready to bark or snarl at her but a quick patted on the head by Raven had calmed the sithspawn. With a grunt he lied back down, allowing the twi'lek to approach her master. Even as she had bowed to her Sophie did not look to her, still looking out to the sight of Courascant with the holo-recorder in hand. "Are you ready for your first real assignment, my dear?" she asked, still not looking to her. "I had wanted to wait until you'd been knighted but....I feel the target of this assignment needs to be dealt with post-haste. You'll be going to Alderaan, and you're to eliminate a small family. A husband and wife, possibly a grandfather. If he's still alive by now." She then held the recorder out and added "But before you kill them, you're to give them this."

Dara glanced down at the sithspawn and managed to remain neutral, it was her masters per and she would allow it to growl at her. She listened to her master describe what she was going to be tasked with. She was being given her first official assignment from her master and she couldn't help but grin. She had waited a while for the chance to prove just how effective of an assassin she could be. She took the recorder out and nodded. " as you command my master". She took the small device and placed it into one of he pockets of her belt. " is there a specific order that would like me to execute them in?"

[member="Darth Raven"]

Given the choice of who would die first Darth Raven barley shrugged while saying "Whichever one gives you the most trouble. Now go. And when you return.... Just return." she said, as if stopping herself from giving something away or hinting at something [member="Dara Gola"] should have known. It was unclear on that but what was clear was Raven was done explaining. She had the orders, the means of travel thanks to her status, and her own skills to help see it through. Now it was just a matter of waiting, as everything was.

Dara bowed again and smiled, " As you command my master." She said with a hint of joy in her voice. she was ready to destroy the enemies of [member="Darth Raven"] and she relished the thought of how she would do it. She turned and made her way towards the spaceport, everyone that saw her coming moved to let her pass. Being the apprentice to a Sith gave her the status to move with little hindrance. She approached her ship and waved away the techs that were prepping it for take off. She climbed into the cockpit and waited while the tech pulled the small ladder away.

She engaged the engines and adjusted the power supply to the anti gravity engines. Once the ship was above the spaceport, she pushed the power to the main engines ot full and she shot forward into the sky. she loaded the coordinates into her computer and set off on her task

When [member="Dara Gola"] would arrive on Alderaan the name she would look for was "Lacraan." A rather big and rich family but nothing that stood out of the ordinary about them. If anything they seemed plain, the grandfather of the household being a grizzled old Mandalorian fossil and the wife of the couple a retired singer. It would seem an odd target but Dara would easily find them. It was just a matter of sneaking into their hoes at the right moment, having them all neutralized and together, and then playing the message from Darth Raven for them. How would she do it, that was something even Raven herself wondered.

Dara approached the house and smiled, she could feel through the force that the house had three life signs inside. She knew that it would be easy to go inside and butcher them while they cowered in fear. She couldn't do something that easily though. She needed to show them a recording first because her master wanted her to. So she would keep them alive long enough to see the message and then kill them.

Entering the house wasn't hard, they were careful, but she was an assassin. She found the the woman on the ground floor. It only took a few seconds for her to incapacitate the woman. Dara took a small set of flexcuffs out of her belt. After binding the woman, she threw the unconscious woman over her shoulder. She knew that by having this woman as a hostage, the other men wouldn't give her any trouble.

She found both men together, they were drinking something sweet and alcoholic. He dropped the woman at her feet and threw a pair of cuffs at each man. " If you cooperate, I promise you no harm. I am here to deliver a message to you and nothing more." She pulled out her blaster and aimed it at the woman.

" You.. don't hurt her." the younger man said as he took the cuffs and put them on his hands. The older man didn't say a word and just sat there in silence, unmoving.

" You have until I count to five to put them on, then the woman dies." Dara said as she counted slowly in her head. The moment she reached five she pulled the trigger. The woman jerked slightly as the blaster bolt slammed into her head. " You had your chance." She turned the blaster on the old man and shot him in the leg. He cried in pain and Dara turned to the younger man and did the same thing. " All you had to do was comply and I would have let you live. You have sealed your fate. " With that she took out the small recorder and placed it on the ground and hit the play button.

Once the hologram appeared it was of Darth Raven herself. She was standing in a more proper manner as she looked blankly out towards where the two men were sitting. The reaction from the men, however, was more of shock at the sight of her than anything else, even with the younger man gasping "Sophie?"

It was then that Darth Raven began with "Hello, Mother. Father. Grandpa. Whichever of you may still be alive. I know it's been a while since you've heard from me. In fact I'm sure you thought all this time I was dead. The Jedi failed to save me and the Sith killed me, as I'm sure the story is. But they were wrong. I wasn't killed but liberated by them. I saw where my true potential lied. You always said I was born to do great things....and you were right. But I couldn't do that with the Jedi. With the I was nothing more than that weak little girl in curls who had overambitious dreams of being like her grandmother. Now I have more than I could ever want. The twi'lek is my apprentice, Dara. She's been loyal to me for weeks now. A small demonstration of the sort of power I now have with the Sith. But I need more, and to do so means making sure I have nothing to hold me back. Nothing to keep me weak." She was silent for a moment, letting it sink in for them, before finishing with "I love you all. And I will always love you. I want you to know that." She was silent again before turning and saying to Dara, or as least looking her way "Do it." before the image faded.

Dara listened and wanted to be horrified with the fact that she had been sent to kill her master's family, but she had crossed the line of compassion a long time ago. She wasn't capable of disobeying [member="Darth Raven"]. She had thrown in with Sophie fully and to disobey her now would be a death sentence. She sighed and looked down at the two men that were staring in shock at the recording. She felt nothing as she put one blaster bolt into the head of each man. She wasn't sure that she needed to do anything else so she holstered her pistol and walked back to the window she pulled the datapad off of the window sill. She wasn't worried about leaving behind evidence, but she didn't want ot leave a trail to be followed.

It wasn't long before she was back on her way to her master. She pulled the small lever as she ship blasted into hyperspace on it's way back to Corousant.

When [member="Dara Gola"] would return she would find Raven sitting in the same spot as before. Sebastian was outside the room this time but it almost seemed as if Raven had not moved from her seat the entire time she was gone. Whether or not that was the case was uncertain to anyone, but feeling her apprentice's signature had confirmed enough for her that the deed had been done. She waited until Dara came to her, saying "You've done well, Dara. You've helped your master a great deal."

Dara walked into her master room and she smiled as she heard the praise that [member="Darth Raven"] spoke and she bowed as she finally go to where she was sitting. " Thank you master. I... wasn't expecting that mission." She wasn't worried about any backlash, she was the apprentice to a powerful sith. It was her job to obey orders. She had been given a mission she wasn't expecting, it was a prideful moment that she had been given the task of freeing her master from the weakness of family, one that she was willing to do to ensure that her master could remain focused on the power she craved.

"I didn't want you to hesitate." Raven clarified. "As long as you made it quick." She was quiet again before saying "You may leave now. I'll reward you later." She waited until [member="Dara Gola"] was gone before finally breaking the tear in her eye. It rolled down her cheek as she kept looking out to the sun setting scene of Courascant. It had to be done. She kept saying that in her mind. It had to be done...

Dara didn't know how to respond to what [member="Darth Raven"] said, the emotion was visible in her voice, "Thank you, master" was all that she said. She could tell that Sophie was in turmoil over the mission and she could tell it was a painful moment for her. Dara was conflicted on what she should do. On one hand she had been dismissed by her master, and her obedience was absolute, but Sophie was also her her lover, and she wanted to be there for her, to hold her and comfort her through this moment. She stood there for just long enough for her mind to work this out. Once she realized that her obedience overruled her love and she finally walked out of the room.
