HISTORICAL INFORMATION
1060 BBY The fleet was first formed in the time of the New Sith War after the Candorian plaque by regrouping the surviving ships of destroyed ordnance fleets. Clan Awaud took direct control by Mandalore Aga Awaud. The doctrine of independence by movement was pragmatically installed to quarantine from the plague. Later it became a tradition.
In 738 BBY this tradition saved the fleet during the attack of the Republic on Mandalore and the destruction of their culture and the installing of the traitor aristrocratic puppets of the New Mandalorians. Being only a support fleet not able to wage war on the traitors and the Republic the Be'chaaj fled to Wild Space.
Then they became truly independent and self-reliant survivalists.
The next centuries the fleet was part mercenary part supply chain for befriended clans.
But as the bitter Mandalorian Civil War raged, the alors of Support Fleet be'chaaj decided to withdraw into Wild Space again. Only the family bonds to Clan Awaud remained.
Now Support Fleet be'chaaj was truly independent. The official name was now seldom used, and the fleet became known as Nomad Fleet.
1st century BBY In the Clone Wars and the Rise of the First Galactic Empire the fleet isolated itself again from the strife. Only the strange disappearance of convoys of the Empire in their territory was its unknown contribution.
5 ABY With the Great Purge of Mandalore the remnants of the Empire earned the undying hatred of the probably last intact fleet of the Mandalorians at that time. Sometimes strike forces of the New Republic arrived at strongholds of the Imperials only to find them devoid of life, plundered and all Imperial personnel executed.
10th century ABY Support Fleet be'chaaj honoured the Millennia old contracts to the Mandalores and granted support and skirmish in the new conflicts. Again, the current alor is too clever to engage with all forces in lost causes. The Nomad Fleet come and go like ghosts in the morning mist, eluding stronger forces. Survival is THE WAY in the minds of the pragmatic Nomads under Alor Jurr Awaud.
