Strengths: Norman is a brilliant tactician, and is a great public speaker and leader. He can inspire his troops and raise their morale considerably, as well as outsmart many lesser foes in tactics.

Weaknesses: Norman has an obsession with the eradication of tyranny in any form, and can get caught up in the turmoil of it all and would sacrifice civilians to have the enemy destroyed. His background and quick promotion to General have birthed skepticism against him and his ability to lead, which Norman has no regrets about, but leads other Republic leaders to distrust him and his command.

BIOGRAPHY: Norman was born in the slums of industrial Balmorra in 777 ABY and grew up learning on the streets to survive. His parents were extremely poor and didn't even have enough credits to feed their son, so they were forced to steal to get food and taught their son the same skills they learned so he could survive as well. At the age of 10 was when Norman was forced to work in an industrial factory to earn some sort of income to help his already struggling parents, but it was a hellish experience every day just to do the basic jobs. At the age of 13 Norman joined a local street gang to find brotherhood with other like-minded individuals who all were going through the same hell Norman was. All of the gang members were teens and adults who had it rough on the streets and were forced to a life of crime to carve out a living, and for awhile Norman really did enjoy the company of the gang members. They offered him true brotherhood and acceptance and his life got somewhat better... until he had to prove himself to the gang that he was in it for real, and that's when Norman committed his first homicide. The gang had planned to ambush a small group of industrial workers who opposed the gang's presence in the area and had begun to meddle in the gang's business. So the gang jumped them in broad daylight and killed two of them, the others ran away and one was too horribly beaten to really get away.

The rival gangs erupted into full-out warfare, with Norman being thrust into a violent environment where everything he did he did to survive. The war lasted for five years before Norman and his closest companions managed to escape off the hellish Balmorra and seek aid with remnants of the last great Republic, who Norman saw as the ultimate bringers of peace and prosperity. He joined the small Republic group and rose quickly through the ranks due to his experience in war, and the fact that they were short on personal themselves and had to promote their best. During this time he met Dex Rostu, a fellow who had a very familiar backstory to his own, and they quickly became fast friends. When the time came for the Republic to reform and govern the galaxy, Norman was promoted to General while Dex became the Supreme Commander. Norman had finally found a place for him in the universe, a place where he could use his skill and influence to destroy all traces of tyranny from the galaxy once and for all, and he found his prime enemy to be the newly emerging Sith Empire, bane of the Republic.
