Nostalgia and Memory

Despite the short arousal from her long meditation, she had been meditating near uninterrupted for 9 years. Her senses in the force had become more and more attuned, she could now make out the tiniest microbial life when she got into her deepest meditative state, she felt everything, there was not a tree, not a leaf, not a microbe that did not appear to her senses. While it took many hours or even days to reach this state, it was unlike any other experience once it was acheived. The downside was that any other strong force user entering the system would throw her out of the state from just the shock of it, like a bright spotlight being shined right in your face. That is what happened for the second time in a year.

She was immediately brought out of the meditative state, breathing heavily and lying on her back. She had felt the force presence before, many years ago she had felt a very similar presence, except now it was twisted and dark beyond anything she remembered. It was Ra. The young morally confused apprentice that she had known so many years ago was now a much different beast. Her force presence was almost overpowering in dark energies, any semblance of the light that originally sat with that apprentice was now gone. Why was she here? What did she want? These were questions that would soon be answered.

Alyson slowly stood up, before making her way to her armor stand, putting it on piece by piece, before making her way down to the landing pad to meet the new arrival. The servants looked with shock, the Empress rarely left her chambers these days, however her guard were always at the ready, and were already at the pad to meet the new arrival. Alyson moved out to the pad, standing in front of her guard. The wind whisped across the pad, the sun was setting over Graeldor, it was a beautiful sight.

Knowing none of the people on ship could use the Force or even sense she sould, Ra did not hide who or what she was. Within her line of work though, nobody knew she could use it or had any clue she was sith. This was exactly how Ra liked it. An unconventional sith, she was not evil and held that code close to herself, not actually caring the paths others followed. The only time that mattered was if they got in her way of an objective or goal. So far though nothing like that had happened.

She barely remembered some of the people she met within the Dominion. One of them had been royalty and she remembered the friendly spar they had. Of course, Ra had been a neutral person then, not knowing of her true past. Little training within the Force, at least that was what she thought. Then she had taken a trip. There her mind was unlocked and revealed what she really was.

Wanting to expand her trade network had brought her here. Climbing onto her shuttle to take to the surface of the planet, Ra stepped off to be welcomed by one of those people she had once thought of as ally. Alyson, the one she had sparred with and lost to.

"Hello. It's been a while."

Knowing her from many years ago, former allies and that the other woman was ruler here, Ra gave her a bow and a friendly smile. Even with the dark aura emanating from her, Alyson might also pick up on the fact Ra meant to harm to her or her home.

Alyson stood regally at the edge of the pad, her hands behind her back quietly watching as the craft landed. Discipline was important for a ruler, even more important for a Jedi. She was one of the last of the Dominion Jedi. Many turned to the dark side or simply fell off the face of the galaxy, never to be seen again, others still fell into seclusion, much like her, waiting for the time to come out of their hidey holes and do something. It was not her time yet, and chances were it would not be for a very long time. She still did not have the answers she wanted, she still failed to understand why things happened the way they did, why evil won so easily.

As the woman made her way down and bowed Alyson did so in return, it was proper manners to return a greeting, regardless of status. Her force aura became even more clear now that she was so close, her earlier observations were correct, it was a twisted remnant of the neutral apprentice she had once known, however, it was not the worst she had seen, there was no malice, only darkness. Unlike some sith she had no malignant intentions, she was welcome here any time.

"Greetings, Ra was it? Come with me." She said.

Alyson led Ra down through the twisting hallways and corridors of the massive palace, two guards flanked behind the two women. After about 5 minutes, they finally came into the sunlight of the courtyard. It was rather large to be called a courtyard, as it was more of a small to medium sized park, but it was called The Courtyard none the less. The trees were just starting to green themselves after the long winter. WInters were harsh on Merides so it was a welcome return for most of the populace.

In the center of the courtyard was a large fountain, surrounded by various benches and tables. Alyson sat down at one of the small two seater tables, on the table was a checkered pattern used to play various games of strategy. The physical pieces were still on the board for customary reasons. They were small stone figurines of knights, towers, kings and queens, one set was black and the other was white. They were incredibly well made by craftsman. The game was a local custom, most people off planet did not know how to play the game, however the pieces were placed there nonetheless. They looked nice anyhow.

"What did you come to discuss? Most people do not come to this world unless they have a particular reason." She asked once she had taken a seat.

The formalities of greeting done, Alyson invited Ra to follow her. Two guards followed them, but it did not make Ra uncomfortable at all. It was more due to Alyson's rank here and they were her guard. Without ill intention involved, her hostess did not express any fear of her.

She was lead to a large courtyard with a fountain in the middle. It was crisp spring day, but not too chilly. Unaware of the weather here, it seemed Ra had picked a good day to visit. No raid clouds in the sky or snow falling, it was nice here.

Taking a seat opposite Alyson, Ra briefly looked at the game board and at Alyson as she spoke her question. Asking what she had come to talk about since most people didn't visit unless they had a reason to. Not wanting to deny her old friend a reason to suspect anything out of ordinary, Ra answered openly and honestly.

"I have moved on with my life after the Dominion fell and work now as head of a merchant fleet and represent the Free Worlds Coalition. We're always looking to meet new people and open trade routes."
