Not All Bedtime Stories are Fantasy

"What are you wanting to look at today Jayce?"
"It's always history, or history on something. You know that."
"I do! More so asking if there is a particular item young man."
"Um... Lets do ancient languages and texts."
"That is quite different from the normal stuff you look at."
"Trying to see if there is anything I could find about older relics or just discover something else for a change."
"be my guest. Look in rows 15 through 17 and you should find plenty of enough for you to sift through."
"Thank you."
"As always."

I smiled a little as I left the librarian alone. Walking past many of the aisles till I reached the first one that I needed. I began to look through the stacks of tomes, books, even datapads on just information. Reading the labels for what I might need. Most of them were translation books, or books on how you can learn to speak in X language. However, I went past all of them to find more older languages, or languages I had never heard before. My own datapad in my hand I looked up the name of the language to see if it identified it as one that was used, or even somewhat known about.

No, I wanted to look at the oldest of languages that people haven't spoken since the Jedi had formed. I wanted to actually learn something new about languages that even I never knew of heard about. Let alone someone else. I might spend hours here looking at this stuff. Why? It was my day off, and I didn't feel like training as hard as I did yesterday.

Cassius’s day had been quite relaxing, so far. Master Jade had given him the day off from his usual training, so he figured he’d take the time to catch up on some things. After his morning meditations, he’d taken a little flight around some canyons that presented a challenge, pushing his A-wing and himself to the limit. It had been exhilarating, but now he needed to do something to wear off the adrenaline.

That was why Cassius found himself in the library, where he spent a lot of his time off. His discovery of the small temple on Rinn had piqued his historical and archaeological interest, and he found that he could spend hours upon hours with the various holocrons, documents, and datachips that could be found in the library. There was more information in a single section than there ever was in the eroded temple on Rinn.

Cassius preferred to not talk to the librarian at the front – not because he didn’t like them, but because he didn’t want to be noticed. For the young Jedi pilot, this was his quiet, reflective time. He’d find his usual corner with a datapad and a handful of disks and read the day away. Or, better yet, he’d check out the disks and go back to his quarters to read. Today, however, he wouldn’t be alone – he found someone in the aisle, perusing the section on ancient languages.

“Oh, hi,” Cassius said. While he wasn’t expecting anyone else to be here, he wasn’t going to just ignore this person. “I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Cassius – Cassius Droma. One of the newer Padawan here.” People were usually taken aback when he told him he was a Padawan – most of the people his age around here were usually Knights, or at the very least, on the cusp of Knighthood.

I shook my head and let my hand rub the bridge of my nose. I took a step back from the shelves and was placing the datapad on the table without looking. At that moment, it seemed someone else presented themselves to me. I didn't expect it and almost dropped the tablet. Catching it barely with the force before it fell to the ground. Turning to the man, I shook my head with a sigh as I placed the tablet back onto the table.

"Sorry. Normally I am alone when I am here. Cassius? Knight Jayce Amoren."

Wait, did he say he was a padawan? He looked older. He must have just joined the Jedi Order. Likely why he was still a Padawan. Either way, people learn at their own pace. I was a quick study, and hence why I was a bookworm. Either way, I bowed my head to him as a respectful sign of hello.

"Uh... This is my day off so I think it would be okay if we kept it informal... I could care less about ranks and positions."

The man was interesting though. Slightly older than myself, and the growing of a beard showed more to his age as well. My childish look still hung onto me it seemed.

"Is there anything you are looking for? I know the most of the library from memory."

[member="Cassius Droma"],

Cassius did a quick bow of his head as a sign of respect to Jayce – although he appeared younger, he was the superior, after all. He nodded as the Knight said he’d rather not throw around titles and rank. “Fair enough,” Cassius said. He took a quick little look over the younger man, trying to not have the previous bout of clumsiness tarnish his image of him. His outfit was not that of a typical Jedi – however, if there was one thing Cassius had learned in his time at Deneba and on the Providence, it was that the Jedi, and the galaxy in general, were very different than the picture painted by the ancient holograms he trained with prior to his joining the Jedi Order.

He frowned as he casually shook his head when asked if he was looking for anything specifically, glancing over the shelves surrounding them. “Not really,” he answered, “I’ve mostly been reading up on ancient Jedi history – the beginnings on Tython, the first Sith Wars, the conflicts with the Mandalorians, that kind of thing.” He lightly traced a finger over the datachips. “I had found a couple of passages that were just pictures of old tablets – things that were so obscure they hadn’t been translated yet. Figured I’d drop by here and see if there was anything I could glean from the languages section. If I remember correctly, some other tablets had been transcribed with the same writing… I wanted to see if I could do it myself.”

Looking over to the blond man, he asked, “What have you been looking into?”

Cassius seemed to let his eyes wander over me. I clenched my fist a little. I was younger, and I didn't dress in traditional robes for a reason. Jedi to myself, and my people were revered as angels, or even gods. Back home, if one called you a Jedi, it was a compliment on how that person treated others or acted. Opened the door for an old lady, she might just say, "That's very jedi-like of you." All that we know of our history is that our species seems to be attuned or sensitive to the force because of a Jedi who had brought the code to what some consider primitive humans on our planet.

Being a Jedi, or being called a Jedi was not about what you dressed, but your actions. So it made me almost upset at the idea that Jedi were put into a cookie cutter. This man seemed to be fitting into that role well. However, I was not. Hence my clothing. I calmed my head. Breathing in as he spoke up about wanting to translate about these languages of Tython. The homeworld for the Jedi. Nodding my head, I shook it for a moment to clear my head.

"Yeah uh.... I uh... I think there was a tablet that had the alphabet on the bottom of it. I vaguely remember that much about it. Not what it was called sadly. I would look in the Ancient texts, or in Tython historical finds. Crossing those two might help."

To say I was nervous was an understatement. I fumbled over my words for a moment, and just spit it out as best I could. Realizing that he had also asked me a question, I gave myself a facepalm.

"Sorry, wasn't paying attention to your question. I uh.... I am looking up languages that I could look into. There are many writings that are locked because one doesn't understand the languages, I want to learn more in general about stuff, and learning languages will prevent that lock from being... unlock-able? breakable? Ugh. you get what I mean."

Looking away from the man and at the book case, I just mouthed to myself. "What the hell?" why was a fumbling so bad over my words? I mean, sure I could snap at some twi'lek a week or so ago, but now? Not a damn brave cell in my body. Dipping my head, I sighed.

"I am a little tongue tied at the moment. Normally don't talk to people about my reading and studding habits."

[member="Cassius Droma"],

Cassius tried to suppress the smile that started to take over his face. The man was clearly nervous – he appeared the more studious type, not one who got out much. Honestly, so was Cassius, but he also had to learn how to interact with others, especially those in his squadron. While he most certainly preferred to be alone, he was no stranger to starting up a conversation with someone he didn’t know that well.

“It’s alright,” Cassius said, letting his smile show Jayce that he was an easy-going kind of person. He certainly didn’t want him to feel uncomfortable. “Well, hey, since you’ve been looking into languages, want to see if you can tackle this inscription with me? Doesn’t seem too hard…” Cassius retrieved his datapad from his belt, clicking in the thick button for it to light up with electronic life. “And actually, something you just said gave me an idea…”

He put in the datachip that he’d been looking at previously, and called up a holographic image of the ancient tablet. Placing the datapad on a nearby table, he made the projection life-sized so that they could see the inscription in detail. “This one is from Tython, I think…” Cassius said, tapping in a few commands so that hologram would start slowly spinning. “It seems broken up, line by line… maybe like a poem? Then there’s this, here,” Cassius pointed to the very bottom of the tablet, to a line of text that had over twenty characters all next to each other, “I wasn’t entirely sure what this was until you mentioned knowing of a tablet that had the alphabet at the bottom. I’d had a theory that was perhaps what it was, but I just wasn’t sure. There are no repeating characters in the line… I guess the question is, though, how do we use the bottom line to translate the above lines?”

Cassius allowed my... difference slide by the wayside. Even going so far as to mention that I had given him an idea. Bringing out his datapad, He began to bring up something. Mentioning the tablet I had mentioned about an Alphabet on the bottom of. Nodding my head, I smiled. Bringing up my own datapad and running through the various languages that had been spoken or written on Tython. An easy search to find the list. Key words of "Tython" and "Languages" brought up a list of names that were very familiar. Galactic Basic was the main one currently. Others because of the diversity. However that changed.

Looking up, He wanted to know how we could translate the wording and letters. I shrugged my shoulders and gave the very easiest answer possible.

"It could be as simple as taking our own alphabet and laying it out on top of this one. First letter of the alphabet matches with theirs. They likely didn't have special letters with accents or whatever else since the language is older than the mythed Zhell apparently."

I seemed to grow quickly into the role of running through the information. Sure, that was a very easy answer to think, but when you are going over possible details, or information. Go with what you know, and what is easiest. Only then do you get complicated. If you start over thinking it will be complicated, then you will never even try the easiest solution.

"If that doesn't work, then we could likely take the Tythonan dialect and overlay that instead of Basic. Either could do the trick."

[member="Cassius Droma"],

Cassius’s brow furrowed as he thought about what Jayce suggested. “That could work…” he muttered, almost admonishing himself for not thinking of it sooner. He started to put the pieces together, and soon enough, something actually legible started to form. “Take a look,” Cassius said, turning his datapad around for the Knight to see. It read:

The Force seems stronger in Kaleth
Many secrets have been uncovered
Knowledge is recorded with the gatekeeper
Visit the Chamber of Speech to access the records of the Lords
Beware the corruption of the sacred force

It was followed by the string of letters which aligned with their own Basic alphabet. Cassius read the passage at least twice before speaking up. “Kaleth… is that on Tython?” he asked. It seemed familiar, and would make sense, since the tablet was found on Tython in the first place. Dissecting the passage piece by piece, he began to understand just what the cryptic words meant. “So… this Chamber of Speech… it’s some kind of repository. Maybe a library?” Either way, the prospect was exciting. “Have you ever heard of it?” Cassius asked.

His mind started to think… what if they were the first to discover this passage? What if this Chamber of Speech had been lost to time… and they could be the ones to find it again?

I furrowed my brow when we started to put the pieces together. Cassius was translating it rather fast. Indicating he had done something like this before. Maybe he was as good as he said with knowledge and such. It was when he read out loud what he had, My brow deepened in mystery. Kaleth. Since this was on Tython, it had to now be considered ruins. But Kaleth sounded too familiar to me. I pulled out my datapad. Scrabbling through the notes I had made. And pulled up and entry that was actually from my grandfather before he passed. Saying something along the lines of a Temple ruins on Tython that once belonged to a group older than the Jedi.

"If this Chamber of Speech is on Tython, it also mentions Kaleth. It sounds like the chamber is within the halls of this Kaleth. The Tablet is from Tython. Do you best to search for any ruins on Tython. Or even places that were built over the top of ruins. That should find a few places."

While I asked him to look for that, I went through my own pa's notes. Looking for anything on Kaleth, or this Chamber of Speech. I doubt it would have been here, but maybe he mentioned going to ruins, or going to a place that was built over ruins. That could help in determining where this place was. Could he have visited it, or have any information? Considering my Pa had various times within his stories telling me of going into the depths of temples to learn its secrets or to destroy and ancient evil to prevent anyone from using it against him or the Jedi at that time.

"Here it states that my Grandfather found a factory that was built over the top of old ruins over tython, but he was barred from entering. With so many years of fighting over Tython, we can also look up abandoned factories. That might narrow the search."

[member="Cassius Droma"],

The aspiring archaeologist nodded when Jayce gave him some direction, bringing up a wireframe map of Tython in a separate window on his datapad. He tried to cross-reference anything that would indicate where these ruins at Kaleth were. There were a lot of abandoned facilities and factories due to the fact that Tython was at the center of the galaxy, and also a home to the Jedi. As such, there had been plenty of conflicts and reconstructions since the time that the tablet had been written.

He began to move up and down the shelves of the archives, plugging in and downloading any datachips that might be useful to the search. This was when he got into a type of tunnel vision – so focused, so determined. This was a puzzle, and he needed to solve it.

Jayce mentioned something about his grandfather trying to access ruins a long time ago, but was barred from being able to do so. Cassius started to figure that in, and as he narrowed down the possibilities, he found a fragment of a file in the archives… the location of Kaleth. Now he knew where that was. Then it was a matter of figuring out the best place where the ruins would be…

“Here,” Cassius said, tapping the map on his datapad. “That looks like the best possible location. A building permit for a factory… lines up with some ruins, just like you said. The factory has been abandoned for years… it’s highly likely no one has been there.”

Already, Cassius was thinking of how they could get to Tython – hopefully that U-wing was done with repairs. “I think this warrants further investigation.” This was exciting, to say the least. Nothing they had come across indicated that anyone had made the connections they just made.

I was starring to put pieced together. Finding a few factories of my own that I continued to look at. I tried to overlap them on the datapad, but I couldn't quite get it there. Stupid datapads and their advanced systems. If I just could find classes on using tech better, then I might be able to do something with my life other than train. I shook my head and looked over to Cassius. I doubt he noticed I stared at him. Noticing that he was in his element. Enthralled in figuring out this location as thought this were a puzzle. I let him do that work. I returned to the tablet. Looking it over again and again.

The Force seemed stronger there. That got me hinking. If it was stronger, wouldn't there be a map of all known spikes of the force, or areas where the force was naturally stronger? I started a search on it in the background of the datapad as I read over the transcript again.

Knowledge is recorded with the Gatekeeper. This sounded much like gatekeeper that would guard a holocron's information. Was this just one library sized holocron, or was it set up like one where we had to solve another puzzle to enter. preparing for this, I ran my second datapad to gather and copy all the information on the history, artifacts, and beings well known for an on tython. Looking to the map of the force being measured and marked down, I was then stopped with Cassius coming over to show me what he had found.

I smiled brightly as I looked over my own.

"It mentioned that the force was stronger in that area. I found this measurement map of spikes in the force, or places where the force was known to be stronger. So if it serves me right..... Yeah. They overlap. This factory is the one we need."

Taking a second to plug in the directions to it, I saw the name of the factory and what it was known for.

"Factory that was used to build weapons, and electrical systems for vehicles. I'll try and see if I can grab a blueprint of the factory so we don't go in blind for some of this. Oh, and do you have a ship that we can use? Cus all I have is a Starfighter. Nothing for extra passengers."

[member="Cassius Droma"],

Cassius nodded as Jayce relayed all of the information he’d found to him. “Yep, that’s it,” he muttered, his certainty solidifying like duracrete. He was already getting up, putting his datapad on his belt. Adventure, excitement – a Jedi craves not these things, so Cassius was in it for the pursuit of knowledge. They could come across absolutely no resistance, or not have any type of peril befall them, and he would be completely okay with that.

“Yeah, there’s a U-wing that I’ve been using,” he said. “Should be done with the repairs…” his voice trailed off as he tried to remember what the little Utai mechanic had told him aboard the Providence. The little guy had wanted to replace the whole engine, but would have to custom order it. Cassius didn’t have the time for that, so they’d just done a small patch job on it in the meantime. Luckily, the ship had three other engines to work with in case that dorsal starboard one gave them anymore trouble.

“Grab the blueprint and let’s go,” he said, calling over his shoulder as he walked out of the library. “I’ll prep the U-wing for flight.”

A few minutes later, Cassius would be in the hangar bay, looking over the shuttle-attack craft and making sure it was mechanically sound before making the journey to Tython.

Cassius was even more sure of his findings once I overlapped the two together. Not physically, but just by using the coordinates that both of the maps had. In all truths, the signature was right next to the factory, not directly below it. So whatever was directly over the top, was either the parking lot, or the literal roads that were paved above it. Cassius had a ship that we could use. An old U-wing by what he was saying. Nodding my head as he was walking away to get prepared, I answered back.

"Give me about a half an hour to finalize this, and grab my gear."

Waiting for about ten minutes for the full download of everything, I then got up from where I was, and went to my room. Damn, I wished that I had my shield, but it was still being worked on a bit. During training the other day, I had scuffed up the corners of it and I didn't know if it was damaged or not. I'd rather be safe than sorry. All I had in terms of weaponry was my sword. Donning my armor, and making sure my gauntlets were snug on my arms, I grabbed my sword and sheathed it on my belt. Grabbing a bag, I filled with with some provisions, two hazmat masks, and other minor items just in case something went wrong. Putting both of my datapads in there as well.

That took about another ten minutes to do, and I made my way out of my room, and down to the bays. Finding the right one took a few minutes cus I didn't know the name of the ship. Finding Cassius finally, I walked over as he seemed to be checking for something on the ship. I had no clue what it was, but I didn't bother since I was no tech savant. Fly a ship? Sure. Fix and maintain one other than the occasional wash? Nope. Might work on that later though.

"Packing lighter than I want to, but I am ready to go."

[member="Cassius Droma"],

Prior to checking on the U-wing, Cassius had swung by his quarters and picked up a bag that he had started to outfit with gear that would help in his budding archaeological interests. Grappling hooks, a small med kit, sealed compartments for artifacts, more advanced sensors than what was built into his datapad, and other miscellaneous things. It was about the size of a typical backpack, and he’d tried to make it as geared up as possible, but still light and small enough that he could still fight if he needed to.

He’d just determined that the engine was good to go when Jayce strolled up with his belongings, indicating that he was ready to depart. Giving him a casual once-over, his brow furrow and he paused as he saw that the Jedi Knight was carrying a sword instead of a lightsaber. Perhaps it was made of some sort of special material, one that could deflect blaster bolts and other lightsabers. Could it also cut through metal, though?

“No lightsaber?” he asked, trying to sound casual and not judgmental as he rounded the back of the U-wing towards the main door. He stepped up into the main hold, where he’d already secured his bag in one of the seats. From there, it was just a quick step up into the cockpit area. Sitting in the pilot’s seat, he started doing the pre-flight checks.

“You’re welcome to sit in the co-pilot’s seat or the main passenger area,” he said, putting on his radio headphones and flipping their transceiver switch on so air traffic could hear him, “some people find it less bumpy down there, apparently.” He hadn’t been a passenger on a U-wing as much as he had been a pilot. Once or twice, while being transported to survival training, he’d been on one, but prior to working with the Jedi and finding himself using the ship much more often, he had mostly flown a few search-and-rescue missions with it.

Once Jayce was secure and the doors closed, Cassius lifted the ship up into the air, the ventral thrusters and engines whining and roaring in perfect harmony. Once he had enough vertical clearance, he punched the forward thrusters, and they lifted off into the sky. Clearing the atmosphere, Cassius punched in the coordinates for Tython, and soon enough, they snapped into hyperspace.

“You mentioned your grandfather had tried to go where we’re going now,” Cassius said. “Was he an explorer as well?”

[member="Jayce Amoren"]

S O V E R E I G N
Cassius looked me over and I could see his eyes clearly hanging upon my sword at my belt. I chuckled lightly as my feet followed after him and into the ship. Speaking along the way to explain what this weapon is.

"Enhanced by the force. Its a sword that is sharper than anything you can naturally get, and can still act much like a lightsaber. About the only thing this blade can't cut through, is thicker steels. I do carry a lightsaber when necessary, but most of the time I don't. Even then, I carry a shield that goes with this sword."

After following him through the ship, he motioned for me to take a seat as he explained. I just plopped my bag down next to the seat, and sat down. I knew how to fly ships, so while he was already getting the ship ready to take off, I had the ship run simple system's checks. Simple stuff. Like, could the door close? or are the engines working properly? did we have fuel? Small stuff. I would let him deal with putting the destination into the navcomputer.

Once we were finally in space, and we had time to just relax before this was all going to take place, Cassius voiced my previous statement of my grandfather. Nodding my head, I answered him.

"Jedi with the old Galactic Republic before it fell in fact. He was more so an artifact hunter, and curator of anything the Jedi may have deemed worthy to keep for knowledge or training purposes. So if he thought this place was important, then it must have some worth even now."

[member="Cassius Droma"],

“As long as it gets the job done, I guess,” Cassius said, shrugging his shoulders as he boarded the craft. A sword and shield… how… ancient? Cassius couldn’t remember the last time he saw a non-energy based weapon in a fight. There were vibroswords, yes, but they weren’t so prevalent. Still, if it was what the Knight was comfortable using, who was he to judge?

Once they were safely in hyperspace, Cassius had asked about the man’s grandfather. After getting a brief description, Cassius nodded his head and smiled a touch. “Sounds like my kind of guy,” he mused, as they were eagerly going on an artifact hunt at that very moment. Eventually, Cassius saw himself as being in that particular role for the Jedi Order – one who preserved history, kept a collection of important artifacts such as holocrons, data chips, and other objects of historical or informational importance.

“Do you come from a long line of Jedi?” he asked, trying to get to know the man better.

Eventually, it was time for them to come out of hyperspace. Letting Jayce know, Cassius slowly pulled back on the silver handle, and they popped in, just out of orbit of Tython. Setting his approach vector so that they’d hit the lower atmosphere near their target, he steadily brought the ship down, just like any other planetary approach that he’d done.

Plugging their map data into the U-wing’s navigational computer, they managed to find where the precise location of the abandoned factory was. There was a small plateau just above the factory that overlooked it, and Cassius set her down there, the ship barely shaking as the landing gear touched the ground below. Turning everything off, Cassius clambered out of his seat and to the main area, where he grabbed his bag.

He paused as he opened the door, the beauty of the planet striking him.

“This is the first time I’ve ever been to Tython,” he finally realized. He’d been so distracted by piloting that he hadn’t noticed that this was his first trip to where the Jedi had been founded.

It did seem like my papa and Cassius would get along well. As a child he always told me bedtime stories of his adventures and when I was older would tell me more... graphic details that he had left out at the time due to my younger age. Thinking of that, I felt my heart ache a little. Smiling to myself as he and I would play "Jedi and Sith" instead of soldiers. With my mother working at the local hospital, and my father being busy with his own work, I never really played with them. My grandfather though? If anyone asked, he was the man who raised me. The man who taught me my alphabet, and numbers. The man who taught me that you shouldn't touch a hot stove.

Now that I look back, He was the one person who taught me the most important lesson. The one that I would always keep close to my heart. While he didn't teach me in person, he taught me over years of raising me, and finally after his death, I learned from the notes he had passed on to me. I shook my head out of my daydream as Cassius asked if I came from a long line of Jedi. I shrugged my shoulders.

"My species almost worships the Jedi. Much like how a human would call a Diathium an Angel, Being called a Jedi was the same effect. A being pure of heart. My family is mostly force sensitive, or force attuned to some extent. My Grandfather was the first to be an official Jedi. The others though did sport Jedi-like qualities. They were Jedi in all but name as far as I know."

It was silent for the rest of the time we were on the ship. If he spoke to me, I didn't answer as I kept thinking back to that night I saw my grandfather for the last time. I mouthed the words he would always tell me over and over. Even now, it brought a bitter-sweet smile to my face. The ship landed and jerked me once more out of my day dreaming. I gathered my bag, and made sure that my sword was loose should I need to draw on it. Unlike a lightsaber that could easily activate, with a sword, you had to have it loose in the sheath to draw it. Walking out beside the man, He mentioned it was his first time being here.

"We are in the same ship Cassius. Lets keep and eye out. Safe than sorry."

Walking down the rest of the ramp, and towards the edge, I reached behind me in my bag. producing binoculars. I knelt down to have my vision stable as I looked across the distance. Trying to determine if it really was abandoned, or that nothing all too dangerous was right out front. At first, I didn't see anything. But in the left side of the lens I saw a flash. A light or a reflection of light? I couldn't tell. Looking over to it, nothing was there now. Reaching out with the force, I could feel the surrounding area, and the amount of the force flowing through and around everything here. it felt amazing.

Yet, I couldn't feel any signatures within the facility from this distance. Still, I was wary of that flash.

"I don't see anything from the get go. Probably the best route is to head from the east. That's the back of the compound. West side has the opening for speeders. Not sure if its locked, or if it has alarm systems. If there is someone still here, then we don't want to ruin any surprise advantage we might have."

Jayce’s family and species history was interesting – his people seemed much more spiritual than those of his homeworld, Rinn. Jedi and the affairs of the larger galaxy weren’t really talked about. It was all about the survival of their communities, battling the harsh cold. He’d lived in a bubble before flying for the Starfighter Corps, and then after that, his world was expanded even more when he left for Commenor. As far as Cassius knew, he was the first person in his entire family line to become a Jedi.

The ride into Tython was smooth, and when they landed and were ready to disembark, Jayce had visually scanned the area with some binoculars. The directions he gave seemed to be solid. Just by looking around, Cassius couldn’t see anything that would give them any trouble. That was all liable to change, though, so Cassius made sure to keep a close eye out for anything suspicious, as well as try to extend his Force senses outward.

“I’ll follow your lead,” Cassius said. “Hopefully we won’t have to dig any. I think I saw some maintenance tunnels in the blueprints that go under the factory, so hopefully one of them will lead to where we want to go.”

As they neared the abandoned factory, Cassius cautiously pulled out his A180 blaster, keeping it pointed forward. He did slow, steady sweeps of the area as he stepped towards the gate. So far, so good. While he didn’t want to seem threatening to anyone who might be watching them, he had also come across too many people in his lifetime that would rather shoot first and ask questions later. He didn’t want to be taken off-guard.
