Not Here for the Podracing (Darth Malificete)

Hakan Venttuss

He Who Blinds the Sun
Nope, Hakan indeed wasn't. He was simply on the desert planet of Tatooine or well, fun. Out of pure curiosity he decided to visit a planet he had heard a lot about and definitely classified as "infamous" and "dangerous" by many people all around the galaxy. So why not have a visit? He could defend himself against whatever criminal decided to cross him. He knew that Tatooine had a lot to do, you could have fun in a pretty much lawless territory. Gamble in a cantina with some unsafe odds. Watch and bet on some Podracing or simply go and pester a few Jawas.

You could find all sorts of strange things on this planet, and that's what Hakan was just discovering as he walked through the Mos Eisley market, and there were loads of things, spare parts for ships, droids. Weapons, that's what was interesting, the "less-than-legal" items on offer on this planet, and he immediately assumed that the blasters he saw on the market stall weren't legal, they looked pretty souped-up.
The young Sith lad stood at a steady 5"11, graced with a rather muscular, tanned body for a 17 year old, an equally tanned face sporting the classic Sith Amber eyes, his head donned with white, almost silver hair, he didn't bother donning a hood as he didn't know anybody around and nobody would recognize him so it was pointless concealing anything.

He wore a standard Sith black cloak, black trousers and white boots, under his hooded cloak, a black Sith robe with a red-brimmed collar. Taking in a drink from the container slung across his shoulder he fought the desert heat.

She had crashed on Tatooine. What a strange accident, she thought. Indeed, typically she didn't end up on such... weird planets like Tatooine is, though she had visited it before.

Her ship stood outside a city area, in the desert. She really hoped nobody will take it away, considering, that most people had better things to do than wander around the deserts. The two suns of Tatooine were a pain for Malificete. Even during the previous times when she had been here, she had hated them and nothing could change her opinion about it. Not even this time.

Wearing the wanderer clothes which consisted of a beige light jacket, brown quite skin-tight trousers and dark, impossible to tell colour boots, she walked around the place. There were, indeed, many illegal things. Sometimes, the Sith Knight thought, that even if the Republic controlled it, it would've been better. And it was only because she loved order, not illegal chaos.

Her staff was in her right hand and each time when her left foot landed on the ground, so did the staff. She used it like an old person would use a walking stick, the only difference being the fact, that the staff was a lot longer than a normal walking stick.

Strangely, Malificete sensed the presence of a Force-sensitive around. It wasn't a strong energy, possibly an Apprentice's, but she knew it was a Darksider's. She had to find the owner of this energy.

Hakan almost laughed at all the sheer tat on sale. Some of the droids sold looked like they couldn't even shut a cargo bay. Well then again this was Tatooine and they didn't have much in the way of an industry, parts just happened to arrive here and move around. Circle of life. This place was so lawless and carefree it was hilarious. You could go to a bar and decapitate three people and only get a few salty looks. But killing was not what he was here for, then again. Why was he here? Oh right. Refueling and maintenance. His crew would handle that he was just going to explore a while.

Hakan saw a few illicit things, disruptors and death sticks being only the tip of the iceberg of things you could purchase on this planet. He could also see what looked like a rocket launcher in the back of a shop. Wonderful, a great addition to any law-despising militia settling on this giant desert. But also you could find some incredibly strange objects here, which Hakan had quite the affection for. Repairing and restoring old technology or repurposing them for something else was a little bit of a childish hobby for him but coming from a shipyard working on technology was something he did all his life.

Yep, death sticks and neurotoxins could also be found here. Just as expected considering that it was their major export. So nothing of interest to him here then considering he needed none of those things.
And weirdly, he could also sense a disturbance in the force, only a very light one due to his abilities however, but he did feel something. He couldn't tell what but he remained on his guard nonetheless. Could be a Jedi, could be a Sith. All remained to be seen, this young lad hadn't even been knighted yet.

Trying to get through the mass was rather tough. Today, it seemed like everybody had wanted to come to this exact location. Probably it was an intergalactic black market day, even though such a thing didn't exist.

The energy which the Darksider radiated got stronger with every step, so Malificete understood she is walking in the right direction. Seeing people buying stuff in the distance, supposedly in the place where the Darksider resided, made her assume the person is buying things or just searching around the market. Many people enjoyed doing that, like she had heard, though she herself preferred surfing around the market when she actually has something to buy.

Soon, the woman was able to see a person, not too old, in front of her, covered with Darkness. He was indeed, a Darksider, and she would've understood it even if she weren't a Force-sensitive. The red eyes this... boy... had revealed his true identity. Yes, corruption was often a curse rather than an advantage.

Finding a reason to start talking with the boy was difficult, so she had to come up with something better. A better decision would've been just walking against him or something similar. Due to not coming across a different idea, that's what she did. Trying to seem as innocent as possible, Malificete just walked past him, but on the way, her shoulder hit the body of him, and she tripped over.

"Ouch..."

Looking around the market a little it appeared as if there was nothing he liked, he might as well just have stayed with the ship and everything would've been less of a hassle, oh well. It didn't hurt to explore the planets once in a while, but maybe Mos Espa had more in the way of entertainment than Mos Eisley. He made a mental note to go and visit next time he came here, if he ever did.

He felt someone crash into him, he didn't know how someone could do that when he was walking dead ahead and pretty visible or so he thought. The boy stood at about 5"11, rather muscular for his age and sporting the usual amber eyes typical of a Sith, he was young and he was already corrupt by the Dark Side. He wouldn't have it any other way however. The Sith saved his life, after all. Then again the young man was rather handsome for someone who followed such a dark order.

He looked down at the person who fell down, a woman. "My apologies. Are you alright?" He asked as he helped her up gently, giving her the respect a woman deserved. After all he did knock her over.

"Yeah, I am alright. I should've been more careful," Malificete spoke as she raised to her feet with the help of this boy. "Thank you! I am Malificete, by the way." She sounded as friendly as possible, but considering, that her voice was heavily corrupted, it was really difficult to make it sound like that.

She looked into the amber eyes of the boy and smiled. A true Sith, hopefully as corrupted as the woman herself. If it was true, they were supposed to have a quite good relationship. Hopefully. Malificete didn't have many friends. Yes, there were acquaintances, but not real people who she could trust. This time, she wanted to form a better relationship. It was a good day due to the fact, that she didn't have to care about her child this day and she was able to finally have cool adventures like meeting new people, drinking some wine and everything.

Her voice didn't sound too right, somewhat corrupt almost, and as she looked into his eyes. He looked into hers. The very same Sith amber eyes burning in both their sockets, the eyes of hatred and rage, these were truly the eyes of a Sith, mesmerizing almost you could just get lost in them if they didn't belong to such a malicious kind of people.

The young man smiled back at her, somewhat shyly, "It's fine really...I'm Hakan by the way. Nice to meet you." He spoke, his voice that of the teenage boy he was. And indeed it was rather pleasant to meet someone like this here. Well it at least gave him the opportunity to do something even if it was merely just getting to know someone, anything worked at this point. It'd give him people to relax with when he wasn't being taught by his Master.

"I am really-really sorry..." Malificete said. She tried to pretend like she feels really bad about what she has done, but inside, she was thinking: My plan has succeeded... She really wanted to have a friend; a Darkside-friend. "Is there any way I could redeem my terrible carefulness?" She was mostly thinking about paying for some drinks in a cantina or... taking the man to podracing or something similar. It seemed like a best way to get closer to the man so that they could have small chat and feel like real friends.

She stood, shivering a bit and feeling ill because of fearing failure, and looked deep into the eyes of the man. She felt like making eye contact would make the man trust her a bit more. She had never learned anything about psychology, though, so she didn't know if she was right about that. Maybe to some people, it was a sign of loyalty, yet to others, it was something else?

Hakan found it strange that this woman was apologizing so much, maybe it was just who she was, or maybe there was some form of ulterior motive to it, he couldn't quite tell. But he found himself looking into this woman's eyes, as she looked deep into his, even though they both possessed the same Sith amber, he found himself looking back unable to avert his gaze in any way. He figured he should just come up with something because at this point she'd probably insist, plus she didn't seem to have any bad intentions so why not go out and about with her?

"Well...You could buy me back with a couple drinks." He smirked, his tone playful yet reassuring, to get this lady to stop trembling. He didn't quite know why she was so jittery like this, but maybe she was just the kind who hated being an annoyance, even when she wasn't, he'd listen out for her opinion on the matter.

"Alright... Where should we go so I could buy you a drink or two, if needed?" she asked from the man - Hakan - if she remembered his name correctly. "There are some cantinas over here, but... which one would you recommend? Which one would you prefer?" She tried to focus on how much money she had with her. If she remembered correctly, she had enough to buy some expensive wine for both her and the man. And since men weren't of course known for drinking wine much, she assumed he wants some beer, which was not that expensive.

It was really warm on this planet.

Funny enough, Hakan didn't mind a spot of wine. Growing up on Nar Shadaa meant he had hardly any access to good alcohol and the stuff he drank back then was distilled illegally by his friends and was almost undrinkable, but he'd been drinking that since his youth so he had gotten a taste for wine, finding it a luxurious and fragrant drink. Well it was kind of unsurprising to get a knack for flavored drinks when you had been drinking stuff that was essentially ethanol.

"I think I know of a place." He spoke, guiding her to one of the nearby buildings, it was about 4 stories high with a dome at the top, it had typical Tatooine structure on the outside, but a guard at the front of the door symbolized that this was exclusive access only, it'd be better here than dabbling with the usual gutter criminals in the other bog standard cantinas here. The guard saw the fact that they were dressed better than most residents and let them in.

Upon entering they were greeted by a waiter, a well dressed Zabrak man, "Table for two?" he offered instinctually. "Private space." Hakan chose, "Unfortunately we can't--" He retorted before being interrupted by Hakan who took on a peculiar tone. "Private. Space." He repeated, and as he said these words the Zabrak cowered slightly, Hakan used his Sith abilities to scare him into submission. A technique which he loved using. "V-Very well then sir, three levels up." The Zabrak pointed up, Hakan smiled a plastic smile to the waiter before leading his guest up the four sets of stairs which led them to a dome shaped roof, held up by four pillars which allowed a scenic view of the Tatooine desert and the city.
