Lori chewed the inside of her cheek as she read a message on her datapad:

Captain Lori of the Jaster's Sparrow,

Whispers of your work helping others so far from the Core has reached us here on Makatak. There are good sides and bad sides when it comes to being away from the center of the Galaxy. On the one hand it keeps war away from us, but on the other, it brings thieves in that escape unpunished.

Recently we have had one of our sacred treasures stolen. If you could come to Makatak, I would be happy to explain more. There would be payment of course.

Kindest regards,
Coqui
Head Council of the Makatak Tribe

A new job. Of course she needed to spend some time with her parents on both sides of the Galaxy, but surely they'd frown on her if she turned down helping people. Right? Right? Of COURSE they would.

Given how much tougher her task on Ahch-To was than she had expected, Lori decided to get herself a bigger crew for this one. Besides Hawk, Arla and Grey, she had also sent word to Daiya, an old crew member that she hadn't seen since they got a big payout. But there'd be others needed too. So she decided to park Jaster's Sparrow over at one of the space stations in the Outer Rim where she could observe some of the people travelling on public transport that were looking for work. The odds of finding the right people were slim and it was hard to know who could be trusted. But she wouldn't know that until she tried.

And she didn't want to go to Makatak alone, in case it was a trap. Lori had her enemies from different sides of the Galaxy. Though most were after her parents than herself. She was just seen as a tool to get to them.

At least she had a few people loyal to her. Hopefully they don't become targets themselves because if it.

Sitting on the ramp of the Jaster's Sparrow cargohold, Lori responded to Coqui, letting him know of her agreement to meet with him. After her message was sent, she began to people watch. The right people were out there somewhere.

For all the training Curtis had acquired, and the experiences he'd been through, he was still a small fish. Small enough that he could sneak away from The Sith Empire with little notice being given to him. One of the few perks of being an acolyte is that you are relatively unknown, by friend and foe alike. This freedom allowed him to travel the galaxy, seeking power and assets to boost his own strength. Maybe he would find more, it had been known to happen, but he never planned for it.

Exiting the shuttle that had ferried him to the space port, he wondered why he was there in the first place. The Outer Rim was dangerous, no matter who controlled it, and for the most part it was a backwater. But these places were always interesting, somewhere a person could hide, or a treasure could be uncovered. The landing pad was crowded, species of all shapes and sizes clustered together like cattle being driven to various exits. Each being had a story, but Curtis wasn't interested in them. To him, they were little people, especially after all those he had met on his journey so far.

With his swordstaff in hand, and armour glimmering from a recent polish, Curtis moved to the edge of the crowds, where he could see the port in its full glory. In this place, he could also be seen very easily, not that he blended in much. By the way he dressed, Curtis stood out like a sore thumb, A sore, spiky thumb at that.

The ramp shook as he departed the "Womp Rat", a transport ship cobbled together by junked ships, and not always the same make and model. To say it was an ugly boat would be cruel and unjust punishment to the ungainly vessels that traveled the stars. The "Womp Rat" looked like it had went through a massive trash compactor that compressed even more miscellaneous junk into its shape.

As Rome departed the ship he paused and looked back, giving a silent prayer of thanks to the Force for watching over him during the trip. Ruefully he shook his head and made a beeline straight for one of the mobile bars lining the walk ways of the ports. He slid into one of the stools lining one of the repulsor bars and swung the pack from his back to lean against his legs.

"An ale."

With his order given he shrugged his shoulders and turned in his seat to watch as the traffic eased by where he was sitting. Silently he toyed with a sword handle that peeked over the top of his pack. The ale arrived from a bored looking man and Rome did a few credits across the bar before talking the glass and returning back to his casual observance of traffic.

His long coat was wrapped up in the pack, today's outfit shades of brown. Tan tunic with dark brown trousers tucked into knee high boots. The hilt peeked over his left boot revealing a knife within. Around his waist rested a rig, a slugthrower sitting grip forward in his right hip. Two ring loops sat empty on his left side where the sword and sheath normally resided. A straight dagger rested at his back with an old fashioned collapsible telescope.

Green eyes narrowed on an older woman with two young children. Their heads were covered but it was easy to see they were twi'leks. They were panhandling, but the only attention they received was unsavory, the kind that blurred the line between crudely wanton stares and judgemental disgust.

Rome ordered a few sandwiches as he drank his ale. This was just a stop over for him. More a chance to get off the death trap that was the "Womp Rat" in all actuality. He was just floating these days. Moving from one job to the next following the tide of the Force. When the disgruntled man brought him his bag of sandwiches, Rome paid and drained his glass.

Walking by the woman with the children he merely dropped the bag in their midst before turning a corner. Staying out of sight he watched the woman take the bag and give the kids the sandwiches. But her eyes widened and unshed treats threatened to fall at the stack of credits at the bottom. Enough for them to afford a ride to whatever planet they called home with enough extra to take care of them during the journey.

Rome allowed himself a smile before moving to another bar along the flow of traffic and dropping the last few credits he had for another ale.

For this job, Gray had been more uncertain. He had never heard of the Makatak Tribe before, but the name sounded strange. Even so, he had agreed to join it, when payment was mentioned. And he had heard that Daiya might join them too. It had been a long time since they last spoke, probably the same time as Lori.

While she sent her reply to the tribe, Gray had started looking for more People to join for this job. According to Lori, this could be a tough one. So he had gone looking around the street for People that looked trustworthy and willing to help.

While looking, he had spotted a woman With two covered children. They looked very poor. While he continued walking, he tossed a credit chip in their direction, without looking directly at them. That was the only thing he could do to make it not look suspicous. Hopefully, it would keep them alive for some time longer. He wished he could do more.

When he came to a mobile bar, he stopped for a small drink. He threw a chip to the man working the bar, and said he wanted something light. In one sip, he emptied the drink. Then he looked back on the two children, right in time to see a man drop a bag With Food to them. That was certainly something you didn't see every day out here. That man could be what they were looking for.

Gray stood up, and followed the man. He reached him, and tapped on his shoulder. "Hey, I saw what you did back there. You wouldn't be i need of some work, would you?" He said this quietly, so no one else could hear it.

You only reached being his age by either being lucky and having things given to you on a silver platter or learning lessons the hard way. And he wasn't pretty enough to be that lucky. With that thought in his mind he glanced at the distorted reflection in the glass of ale he was handed and again spotted the man with the scar on his face. This time he was closing in, hand reached out for Rome's shoulder.

The mannerisms of the stranger immediately caused his instincts to kick in. Left hand reached across his stomach, fingers lightly tickling the grips of the revolver. Eyes flickered around without moving his head to see if there were any other in the scarface's party. And though his honed instincts roared in his blood, the Force was oddly silent, as if this was merely a misperception of the situation.

Calming his nerves he let his left hand ease away, his thumb hooking into his belt, as he took a swing of the ale and turned when the man tapped him upon the shoulder. Rome arched a brow at the question and took another swig as he contemplated the inquiry. Brushing his chin with his forearm he sighed and leaned back against the bar as he gathered his thoughts.

"Well, good sir. It seems you have found me at an advantageous time for yourself as you are seeking enterprising contemporaries. Although I must warn you that I don't partake in wetwork and I don't take kindly to the mistreatment of women, children, or Jawas. Otherwise you can find me curious about the potential for employment."

He reached into a pocket and pulled out a tin. Raising the lid he removed a hand rolled smoke and struck a match as he placed it between his lips and breathed in.

It's amazing how things change once you have your own ship to move around, finally being able to leave Nar Shaddaa and have the galaxy at your disposal felt good, this kind of freedom was weird yet exciting as for the first time in a long time Ashla was able to do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted and yet she had no idea what she wanted to do, wandering the galaxy without a goal wasn't smart but at least she was free of the smuggler's moon.

The Togruta landed on a space station in the outer rim, she could use a break and maybe find a job or something if she learn anything on Nar Shaddaa was that without credits you are nothing, now where could she get an interesting job? Well one thing's for sure she won't get it on the landing bay, Ashla walked to one of the many bars in the station and ask for a glass of water, normally she would want something with a little of alcohol but now it was time for job picking and being sobber helps a lot with that.

Instead of asking the bartender for any jobs available as a normal person would do (or at least would do in Nar Shaddaa as the bartenders do know of the many shady jobs in the smuggler's moon), since the place wasn't as crowded as other bar she visited the girl decided to close her eyes and focus on the conversations around her, thanks to their montrals Togrutas have a great sense of hearing and for the most part she didn't hear anything interesting until the word "work" was said.

Now her focus was on the two men talking ( [member="Romulus Revnar"] [member="Gray Venasir"] ) she took a sip of her water and try to act as normal and inconspicuous as she could, aside from that the girl won't do much she has to know what is this job about before making a move an introduce herself

[member="Gray Venasir"] was quick to act and be on the lookout for more crew. Lori smirked a little as she watched him. He acted like an uncle or older brother to her sometimes; protective and quite sure that he could discover a bad person quicker than she could. Well, he did have more experience than she did.

Looking passed him as he already began interacting with a potential recruit, Lori spotted [member="Ashla Saris"] . Togrutans weren't as common as she thought they would be, especially when hearing all the tales of their heroics in the past. But some of those stories were fantasies too. They were a pretty species in her opinion.

Speaking of pretty, Lori spotted some shiny armour glinting in the lights of the station. Was it from a Mandalorian? She got to her feet so that she could get a better look only to be slightly disappointed to find that [member="Curtis Learchin"] 's armour was quite different. But that didn't mean that he couldn't be as useful.

More than likely he'd of noticed her staring at him, so with a slight shrug of her shoulders, she headed in his direction just to be sure. Maybe there was some kind of ice breaker that she could use. Hmmm....

"That's some fancy armour. Are you a tournament fighter or something?"

LOCATION: OUTER RIM, SPACE STATION
EQUIPMENT: IN BIO
CURRENT MOOD: EXCITED

Minna and Lori went way back.

It was a little incredible how way back they went.

Minna's father and Loreena's mother were friends long before the latter was born, and not long after the former. Some time after she had been adopted, she and her father had rescued an unborn Lori, and her brother Caedyn, from a Sith Lord. That was one memory of her childhood she would never forget. She can still feel the emotions, the accomplishment, the pride, of that day.

And they'd hung out since then. As children, as young adults. But never to this degree. Minna had never worked for Lori before. She'd never seen her as a superior. For as long as she could remember, Lori had been a friend. Almost like a little sister. But Minna had heard through the grapevine that the Heiress needed help.

That was cause enough to go on an adventure.

A Saotome Runabout streaked from the heavens above, and landed in an indicated area of the docking bay. It dispensed it's cargo, a heavily armed and armored woman. Durasteel armor and a mess of weapons obscured her form, but her helmet was at her side, head open for the world to see. It revealed a youthful, olive-tinted face, with a long mess of hair and jade hair beads behind her, tied together lazily with a cord.

She'd tracked Lori to this system- even she'd been impressed by how quickly she'd done it- and taken the shuttle from her Dad's ship. She scanned the immediate area, her dark eyes searching for a familiar girl, and spotting the Jaster's Sparrow. Minna's head fell from the ship to a form leaving it, where she saw [member="Loreena Arenais"] speaking with someone.

Better not interrupt her.

Minna picked her way across the busy floor, and under the Jaster's Sparrow, admiring the ship. She let a low whistle escape her lips. It was a beauty.

Maybe after a few more jobs, she'd get one just like it.

For a few moments, Curtis was lost in blissful thought as he watched the lights of the port dance. These places had a beauty to them, a simple, basic beauty that reminded him of home in many ways. Of course, there were far fewer lights on Dathomir, but the sense of simplicity was the same. Sometimes he wonder if it was better than his current life, but everything has pros and cons.

He was so caught up in his own thoughts that he didn't notice when [member="Loreena Arenais"] approached him. He quickly regained his focus when she spoke, and was pleasantly surprised to see that she wasn't towering over him as many people did. She was easy on the eyes too. He offered a smile.

"Tournaments aren't really my area, the armour is just a... reminder of home." In this moment Curtis noticed just how much he stood out. Many people wore armour, but his was unique. Tribal. Maybe he should invest in a suit. "What are you doing out here, you seem too pretty for a place so... dirty." He glanced up at the walls of the port, with mould erupting from the edges.

This man sounded like a good recruit. Honorable, good instincts. And not over-eager to join any job. Gray sat down next to him, and ordered a small drink himself. The drinks at this place weren't the best, but they did their job. Besides, one couldn't bear to drink too many of them, which was good if you needed to stay sober for a job like this.

"I can asure you, my friend, that no women or children," he took a small pause. "nor any Jawas, will be hurt on this job. I can't tell you too much right now, but we will be helping People, not massacring them. The amount of opposition we will face is uncertain, but I highly doubt it will consist of women or children. And the planet it is on have no Jawas at all."

"So, you in?" He had told everything he knew he could. Firstly, him or Lori didn't know many details, and secondly, he didn't know how much he was supposed to tell. But it ought to be enough to convince the man. "You'll be payed, off course," he added, just to be sure that the man could be convinced.

While he sat there, his attention was caught by someone else. A Togrute, sitting nearby. Not the most common race to see at a Place like this. By the way she looked, she seemed to be a spacer too. Though looks could decieve. Anyway, she seemed capable. "You'll have to excuse me, sir," he said to [member="Romulus Revnar"] before standing up. "I have to talk With someone. Our ship is over there." He pointed towards the ship, signifying the man to og there if he wanted the job.

Gray sat Down Next to the Togruta, and leant Down on the bar. "It's unusual to see one of Your kind out here," he said to her, still not looking directly at her. "So, I'm guessing you have a reason to be here. So I'll jump right to it. If you're capable, a friend of mine is looking for People for her crew on a job. You seem like you could want to join that. Hopefully, few People will be harmed, and you'll be paid. Interested?"

[member="Curtis Learchin"] | [member="Minna Balin"] | [member="Loreena Arenais"] | [member="Ashla Saris"] | [member="Daiya"] | [member="Caedyn Arenais"]

"Just a reminder of home? Surely it has other uses...like protection? Unless it's one of those decorative sets?" Some rich kids had those. They were too light to protect anything. One swift kick was enough to dent it. But it wasn't so easy to tell whether or not the set that [member="Curtis Learchin"] wore was fake or not.

Lori snickered a little at the compliment. She didn't think that she was too pretty for anywhere. Gosh it wasn't as though she ever had a time where she had to beat the guys off with a stick. No, she was just goofball Lori that couldn't really stay in one spot for long. It wasn't as though she had issues with commiting to anything, it was just that she had too many paths to walk on at once.

"I've got some work coming up that needs more than just the skeleton crew that I have. It'll be dangerous, so I'm looking for people of a certain type that can handle it." The look on her face almost asked the question of 'Can you handle it?'. But she didn't voice it at all.

[member="Minna Balin"] [member="Gray Venasir"] [member="Romulus Revnar"] [member="Ashla Saris"] [member="Daiya"] [member="Hawk Solo"]

Ashla liste carefully as the talk between [member="Gray Venasir"] [member="Romulus Revnar"] develop, while the specifics of the job was kept secret, the fact that no woman, children or Jawas would be harm was a good sign, no reckless gunslinging is one of the things she looks for when jobs are brought up, she has shoot some people before but mostly on self defense and to incapacitate as she tries to not take lives.

Tho she didn't thought the man would get close and offer her the job too, it was an unexpected but welcomed surprised, the Togruta smiled and finish her glass of water before answering

"Not losing any time huh?" She quipped "I'm not here for any reason in particular just needed to take a break" Ashla turn to look at Gray "If you don't mind a thief on the group please lead the way"

This adventure sounds like a win-win scenario for her, gets to explore the galaxy a little more, maybe gain some allies for the future and even get pay for it, what could possibly go wrong?

[member="Loreena Arenais"] / [member="Curtis Learchin"] / [member="Minna Balin"]

The armored figure of Minna stepped back from the Jaster's Sparrow, killing her fascination for now. She resolved that when she was allowed on, she would get a better look at it's systems. She wasn't a mechanic, not exactly, but she knew enough to admire a pretty weapons package.

Minna the Fish scanned the area, looking for any members of Lori's crew. He saw her, but he didn't know anyone else who worked for her, and she failed to see any unifying signs. It appeared no one else was around. "She left her ship unlocked and unattended in the Outer Rim?", she thought out loud, her light voice not quite accusatory, but with that perfect mix of condescending and concern. She wasn't extremely stealthy. Any old thief could've snuck on board and taken off without any resistance.

Adamina nodded once, a silent pledge ringing in her head.

"Minna, I'm hiring you for a job," Minna murmured, under her breath. "What are the details, Minna?"

"You are to join Loreena Arenais' crew, and make sure she doesn't get herself marooned on a barren planet somewhere by some criminal scum-suckers." The two voices played themselves out past her lips, and the bounty hunter smiled, playing her own little game.

"And, the pay?"

"Eternal friendship and a pat on the back."

"I accept."

Minna spun around, and leaned on the ship, as if she owned the thing. She was in her element, putting on a show for the spaceport. She looked somehow relaxed, yet prepared. Kind, yet dangerous. A neat pile of contradictions.

Curtis smiled at the notion that the armour was decorative, the only reason it wasn't heavier was because of the lack of resources on Dathomir. That, and the freedom of movement was much greater than any heavy armour. To that end, he used to sword end of his staff to scratch the metal, making a satisfying clacking sound as it left a small scratch but didn't shatter or crack.

She also hadn't brushed off his subtle flirt with an insult or worse, so that was a plus.

He noticed the look she gave him, that look that so many people used when trying to get help. It wasn't that he would ignore or refuse the offer of adventure, but he had to wonder how far it would take him, both physically and mentally.

"Sounds like you need someone who can protect you." He said jokingly, knowing full well that the girl could protect herself. She had to be able to if she was going to wonder the Outer Rim. "I might be interested in joining you. What's your name?"

[member="Loreena Arenais"] / [member="Ashla Saris"] / [member="Gray Venasir"] / [member="Romulus Revnar"] / [member="Minna Balin"]

Of course Lori didn't have her ship unattended. Arla was inside and keeping her eye on things. She had scanned [member="Minna Balin"] when she had happened by. Noting the files that were in the ship's computers on her, there was no reason to act.

She smirked as [member="Curtis Learchin"] joked about her needing protection. If only he knew. Lori tilted her head to the side a bit, keeping an amused expression on her face. "Captain Lori. That's what all my crew know me by. What about you? What's your name?" No doubt he had his own story. But now wasn't exactly the time for her to sit around and hear it. She had a job to do.

[member="Gray Venasir"] [member="Ashla Saris"] [member="Romulus Revnar"]

"Well, as long as you don't still from us, you'll be fine," he replied to [member="Ashla Saris"] when she asked if they didn't mind a thief on the team. "I'm a thief sometimes myself. But I never steal from my allies or those I fly With." This was just normal courtesy, to not steal from allies. Though he knew not everyone followed it.

"Well, we'd better get to the ship. I'm sure Lori has found someone to to crew as well, so we should have enough. Oh, Lori's the captain, by the way." But to him, she was more like a little sister. They had been on many travles together now, and he almost never used her title as captain. Nor her full name. He knew the Power, and curse, a name could have, so he always reffered to her as Lori.

When he reached the ship, Gray saw [member="Minna Balin"] leaning on it. He had never seen her before. But it looked liek she liked the Jaster's Sparrow quite well, by the way she leant on it. "Hey, what are you doing?" he said loud when he got closer. "This ship is of limits. Who are you?" Thinking it best to infomr Lori of this, he picked up his communicater. "Um, Lori, there's a woman here With the ship. You know anything about that? And I'm not talking about Arla this time." At the start when Arla had joined the crew, he used to tease her in ways like this. Pretend that she wasn't supposed to be there, and say to Lori that a stranger was on the ship. That teasing had ended quite fast, when he saw that Arla didn't get very annoyed With it.

[member="Loreena Arenais"] | [member="Curtis Learchin"] | [member="Romulus Revnar"]

Minna's attention had drifted in the time she waited, quickly forgetting her little game. Her attentions landed on [member="Loreena Arenais"] as she spoke with a man in impressive armor. Of course, not as impressive as hers. That many spikes had to be ornamental, after all.

But then, movement toward her caused her to turn her head, seeing the approaching form of [member="Gray Venasir"]. He didn't seem too happy. Minna turned her body, until her shoulder rested easily on the ship. She sized him up, eyes narrowing dangerously for a moment. She tried to read his movements, but couldn't quite divine the man's purpose. Her hands balled into fists subconsciously, her muscles set to spring into action.

But then he spoke, and the dangerous moment passed. Minna grinned out the corner of her mouth, trying her darnedest not to laugh in his face. That wouldn't be good for a possible future acquaintance. But at the same time, she just couldn't take his very serious accusation seriously.

She let him finish. He deserved that much. But then, she full-on smiled, as if sharing a joke with herself. "Let me get this straight," she said, sardonically. "First, you tell me off, and then ask the Cap' whether I'm supposed to be here or not? That's the order you want to go with?"

The shorter human stifled a chuckle, and pushed off the Sparrow, crossing her arms to show off her wrist weaponry. "I'm here to help. Minna the Fish, bounty hunter extraordinaire, at your service." She extended her hand, as if to shake. Once to Gray, and then to Ashla, if she had followed the man.

- [member="Curtis Learchin"] - [member="Ashla Saris"] - [member="Romulus Revnar"] -

Curtis smiled, for the girl before him seemed much more formal than her age should've allowed. Most people her age were off doing normal things, but not her, and not him either. A link between them, if a shallow one. Not enough to form an unbreakable bond.

"Curtis Learchin, at your service." He said, bowing in an overly exaggerated manner before offering his hand. "I think I'll join this crew of yours, if you're looking for help." He wasn't usually in the business of offering his aid, but it gave him a chance to move away from the Sith Empire for a bit. And besides, [member="Loreena Arenais"] had made a good first impression.

[member="Gray Venasir"] / [member="Minna Balin"] / [member="Ashla Saris"] / [member="Romulus Revnar"]

Lori gave off a little chuckle as [member="Curtis Learchin"] introduced himself in such an exaggerated manner. She then took his hand and gave it a firm, yet soft shake. "Good to meet you, and welcome aboard."

The message from [member="Gray Venasir"] on her commlink came shortly thereafter. A woman was at the Jaster's Sparrow? ~On my way.~ Lori gestured to Curtis. "Looks like we're on the move. Follow me." She weaved through the crowd, heading directly towards her ship. Of course she knew exactly where it was parked.

That was when she spotted [member="Minna Balin"] . Lori grinned and hurried her pace until she was almost running, then she pounced on her, nearly tackling her in a hug. "MINNA!! Ohmy gosh, how are you?! When did you get here?! Why are you here?! I'm going on an adventure! Do you wanna come?!" It had felt like FOREVER since she had seen her last.
