Not Receiving Notifications

I'm aware of all the issues that have generally caused problems with the @Mention feature, so I went and double checked by notification settings and the posts in which I was mentioned at and found that I was still capable of receiving notifications from everyone else and my account was correctly @Mentioned in the post but I was not sent a notification.

Within the spoiler I have attached an image of an example of what I'm getting at. For the entire duration of this conversation I did not receive a single notification from [member="Gir Quee"] after being @Mentioned by him. As far as I am aware, however, I receive them from others (though if I haven't, I probably don't know it.)

I've had this issue as well; someone would @Mention me in a thread but I wouldn't receive the notification. Someone in a Skype group suggested though that this is fixed by using the [<member=>] format instead of the @format.

I tend to either click the @mention link under the person's name, or do the {member="member name"} (replace {...} with [...]. I have found that copy and pasting doesn't work. I'm sure you've tried these. Is Gir Qhee typing it out or some other method?

I think its a bug that won't go away. Probably because of the amount of people here. (Many are subaccounts though, right? That's why I think that)

It's not every time @Tefka . I get the same problem sometimes as well. I'll just be checking old posts in a current thread, and Ill see a new response with me tagged in it, but no new notification.

LEARN THE DIFFERENCE
If you are copying and pasting a previous post's list of names that were mentioned into your own post, then those names are not being @Mentioned. This is actually the most common problem with the @Mention system simply due to people wishing to find an easier way to use it. I am not blaming them for trying.

Here is how a copy and pasted @Mention name looks like when posted:
@Tefka

Compare this to an actually @Mentioned name by hovering over both:
@Tefka
This happens because the copied and pasted @Mentioned name actually copies the formatting of a link. This is the difference between the two in Source view:

@Tefka <---- DOES NOT GIVE ALERTS
@[member="Tefka"] < ---- GIVES ALERTS

However, users can still copy and paste previously mentioned names into their posts and still properly @Mention them. To do so, the names must be posted into the Source of the post. To do this, the "Light switch" button at the left of the formatting buttons needs to be clicked until the Bulletin Board Code of the post can be seen.
