Private Not So Average Sparring Session

The room allocated to them was normal in size for what they were prepared to do, which was to spar. A 5-meter square mat was in the center, and the walls were covered in various training weapons, even holding a small section dedicated to various blaster types to help train soldiers for whatever close-quarters situation they could possibly encounter. One wall had some inserts where powered-down training droids stood, waiting to be used for hand-to-hand combat, martial arts practice, or even lightsaber training.

Maybe they would use some of these weapons, maybe they would not use any.

Taru Cadera stood patiently in one corner with his arms clasped behind his back, wearing some civilian sportswear and entertaining a vicious smirk on his face, his horns only accentuating this further. His brow was damp as a natural aftereffect of the harsh warm-up procedure which he had gotten used to doing before any training to help minimize both mental and physical sluggishness.

He let out a minute chuckle and with a slight Mando'a 'n accent asked (in Galactic Basic) the Jedi standing at the entrance-way, "Have you stretched yet?"

Brayad let out a laugh while walking over to the wall of weapons trying to decide on what to use. In the end he went with a wooden staff/lightsaber.

Brayad went back to the middle of the platform waiting for Taru to pick a weapon, if he would at all, " heh if I were you, I would choose your weapon wisely"

As Brayad took a wooden sword of an approximate length similar to that of a lightsaber, Taru also stepped off the mat and went towards the rack of training weapons, a bit disheartened that his sparring partner did not decide to take the types of weapons which would produce a shock or partial paralysis, but Taru could understand the symbolism behind the wood, especially to a Jedi. Whatever that means.

Reaching over, past the swords, knives, and clubs, he removed a wooden tomahawk from its place and lifted it. It was of solid construction and was heavier than a normal tomahawk, though lighter still than a vibro-axe. He assumed that all of the weapons were also weighted proportionally.

Holding it diagonally from his chest, with his right hand completely wrapped around the bottom of the handle in preparation of a long strike to start their spar. His left hand he had loose and ready near his head for defense. Taru resigned himself to swaying and moving softly in a circle, almost as if he were shaking off his sweat, dancing, and prepping for the fight ahead of him all at the same time.

"You ready to start?"

As Brayad walked to the middle of the mat, Taru decided to reciprocate, albeit in his own way. He began to circle his opponent, glancing at his stance and grips on the sword.

"Bus'aga! (Begin)"

Positioning his ever-moving body with his left foot slightly forwards and both knees bent, Taru abruptly lunged out at his opponent with the bit of the tomahawk, swinging it in a diagonal arc in the direction of the Jedi's head, where according to the trajectory it could hit right to the side of the eye socket. If the swing missed or was blocked, Taru would try to complete the swing with a swinging kick with his left foot as it followed the path of the tomahawk, his entire torso turning also. The power behind both the kick and the swing was quite substantial, but nowhere near full strength. Instead, they were more on par with a trial attack, where Taru was trying to both measure up his opponent and to goad them into making a mistake that, in this case, would only hurt and not kill or maim.

As the match began Taru sprung into action quickly causing Brayad off guard. Taru had swung his axe at Brayads head which he blocked but was interrupted by a kick which Brayad had narrowly avoided. Brayad then too sprung into action, knowing that since Taru missed the attack he would be facing the other way he went for a sweep under the legs to make him fall on his back and would then proceed with a downward slash on his torso that should get the breath knocked out of him.

He should have been ready for the Jedi's quick block with the wooden sword, after all, the sword, or well, lightsaber, was the Jedi's preferred weapon.

Cause everyone knew that...

Either way, the Jedi moved quite fast for a man of his age and build, with Taru almost suspecting the Force was in play. But he could only suspect, not being a part of that stupid thing anyway.

With the target out of the way he prepared himself to land, only to hear the swoosh of a leg going in for a leg-sweep. In the second that he heard that noise, he acted, shifting his weight slightly to roll with the sweep, so that he would end up rolling backwards, with his legs kicking forwards for a chance to kick back and up.

Rolling and lifting his tomahawk up in preparation of either continuing his attack or to defend from an attack, Taru snarled near-silently and tried to hook the blade with the beard of the axe, and with it pull the sword away from his face. His left hand shot out and grabbed for Brayad's leg, in an attempt to bring the swordsman to his knees and thus keep him at a disadvantage.

Just like that Brayad had been taken down to his knees due to Tarus quick thinking. With Brayad on his knees he didn't know what to do, until he thought of a trusty ally, the force, Brayad raised his palm to Taru about to use his only means of escape.

If Taru decided to dodge it then Brayad would use it as an opening as a means of escape, he would do so by sweeping his feet to which ever side he decided to dodge to hoping to trip him up, if it succeed then he would force pull Taru to him and attempt to go for a non-lethal slash on the waist and then force pushing him back waiting for a next move.

HIs hook snatching the blade and pushing it to the side, he had reached and grabbed the jedi's leg, giving it a strong pull and taking him down to his knees. The wooden sword out of the way, along with Taru's axe, this had opened up an opportunity for the Jedi to shove his hand forwards and use one of his mystical powers.

Taru could feel the air get shoved around him, but it did not affect him.

The Force never did. For Taru was Force Dead, and naturally so—not cured.

He stood there, also on his knees, as the Jedi then tried to do another side sweep, but with Taru already prepared it was useless movement. As the Jedi tried again to use the Force on Taru, he retorted: "Your tricks don't work on me, Jedi."

Brayad had responded "Yeah, but this does" and in an instant Brayad pulled his left hand back as far as he can and aimed to punch Taru in the face, if he dodged it then he would be able to stand up and back away from Taru waiting for the next move. If he hit (same thing as if he dodged)

This Jedi was a cocky one, trying to punch Taru in the face. Taru instead let the blow come, and once it came within range for him to take the hit onto the axe.

Then after that was concluded, with Taru not following up and giving the di'kut the well deserved roundhouse kick, he stood up and asked: "Brayad, Im really not helping you train now am I. Do you want me to switch to a training blade too? There are a couple of knives and a greatsword-styled training weapon that I've been itching to play with..."

Please tell me if the artwork is not loading/working properly, this is my first go at making and using such so I would like to know if things actually work or not...

"Oh no, not at all, this is training enough to be honest, this is my first time back from being cryo frozen, this is a blast, but, if you want to make it harder for me go right ahead and use something that your better at"

Laughing at the idea that they were training to a level equal to that of which Taru had been trained under his entire life, he shrugged nonchalantly and stated: "Im actually not better with either of those, but i just want to have some fun" He winked with a wicked gleam in his eyes.

Striding over to where the training greatsword stood against the wall, he picked it up in one action, not even prepping himself as a human would. Taru's strength & muscle mass was superior to the average human's, and he enjoyed flaunting this, like he did now.

He gave the sword a light swing to the left, cleaving an imaginary target through its midsection as if the blade was weightless. It was not that light, or even that heavy to Taru, but he still enjoyed the swing. If he were to swing at Brayad and hit, then it would definitely leave at least a bruise.

"You ready to go again?"

"You bet I'm ready" Instantly Brayad went into action and cocked his wooden sword holding arm back and took a swing attempting to hit at Tarus left side (right side for me).

If it worked he would follow up with a kick to the chest knocking Taru over and waiting for Taru's next move

If it failed he would go on the defensive side and wait for Taru's counter attack

Taru barely had time to get the big sword up before Brayad took a swing at him, which Taru parried inefficiently. It pushed him to the side and just out of reach for Brayad's foot which followed. Even then, his breath left his body at the abrupt switch in weight distribution as he pushed himself to keep the sword at the ready and himself in a standing position, for Taru was unused to wielding such an unwieldy weapon.

Laughing in frustration that he was not able to control the weapon to his liking, Taru loosened his arms slightly and readjusted his grip slightly on the hilt. With his fingers snug and his weapon drooping, Taru lunged forwards with one leg and then sidestepped with his other to generate the spin necessary to swing the sword with as much devastating power as physically possible by a Zabrak, maybe even enough to fracture bone if so applied due to its nonlethal properties.
