The small holographic chamber on board Borealis Terminal would provide the senator with a moment of reprieve from the daily hassle of coordinating the vast sums of currency and trade flowing through federation aligned planets. However sturdy the Federation might seem to outsiders, internally the collapse of the Imperial Economy and the recent altercations with the Galactic Alliance over skako's supposed independence struck a critical blow to varying investments which considerably unnerved the Central Board and its Director Gat Tambor. In order to regain their reputation and influence, Laborr had been booted by the skakoan leadership after some pressure by the federation in order to repair relations with the Alliance and its valuable economy.

That was some months ago, with Laborr staying out of the limelight in the senate but still keeping up with the bills being presented to the floor. This afforded him the opportunity to look for investments and trade agreements that could be struck with emerging powers. One such power was the New First Order and after a careful review of their leadership provided by his contact, there was something to be gained.

As such the Senator for the Trade Federation sent an encrypted message to the Supreme Leader of the New First Order; telling him to come to Borealis Terminal for a meeting in regards to financing his emerging empire.

Trajann had been looking out for opportunities among industry and business since the founding of the First Order. It was vital to gain the relationship of at least a few of the greater corporations to supply and maintain trade and the flow of goods into First Order space as the Alliance would not hesitate to bar it once it recognised the emerging power as a threat. Luckily while being all big and powerful, they were also absolutely corrupt and basically ineffective to deal with quickly evolving situations thanks to their foolery called democracy.

The Supreme Leader was not known to hesitate and seal deals himself, so it was not a surprise that after he frequented the Corporate Sector down the Hydian Way, that he would also make his way to meet with the Trade Federation. Travelling on a fast ship, not especially designated, he would make his appearance at the massive space station dock soon after contacts were established.

After going through the screen and scan procedures, the ship would dock and with an escort of two Praetorian Knights and a squad of Praetorian Guardsmen, the black uniformed Supreme Leader of the First Order would make his way through the corridors of the stations and on personnel trams, guided by a protocol droid and a Trade Federation official to lead them to their invitor - Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr .

He did not feel uncomfortable or threatened at all as he went through the interior of the massive artificial habitat. In fact, Trajann was looking forward to these meetings. While not pleasant to some, to fiddle with greedy business people, the Duke philosophy was aimed at a greater good and he could understand that money or profit rather was a way to it. Usually self-serving beings, they also had to engage with other entities to make their living and cooperation was vital to most of the Galaxy at this point. It was a necessary step before there could be restored what was lost. And cast down what should not have lasted.

There was quite an eerie silence that occurred as the Supreme Leader stepped through the solid blast doors into the holographic chamber of the Terminal Station after some initial hissing of the locks. In stark contrast to the Supreme Leader of the New First Order who had enough sense to bring an immense protection detail, The Senator sat alone in the room at the head of the round table which might unsettle some people, wondering what kind of treacherous thoughts occurred behind the stoic mask of the skakoan. Laborr wanted to project himself as an untouchable, easily in reach to be killed but the consequences would not be worth the risk of such an action. It was a power move designed to sway the balance of the meeting in the Federation's favor.

The Protocol Droid and the Official that had guided them inside the vast station, withdrew upon a single hand motion of the Senator, vanishing as quickly as they had come into one of the many secret passages littered around the station in case of emergencies. Glancing towards Vemec's direction for a moment as the silence was broken.

"I see you have arrived in one piece..Supreme Leader Vemec. I will skip the normal formalities that one might expect when dignities meet face to face." He explained; wanting to portray that he wanted to get straight to business and nothing more.

"The Federation has been monitoring your movements for a time, and we would like to extend a line of credit...." the sentence ended unfinished to judge the response.

With a minor gesture the protective detail stopped upon entering and would wait outside, brightening up the corridor with their shining red armours. Trajann stepped into the room alone and offered a nod to the Trade Federation Senator as he made his way to the conference table and sat down himself. His eyes remained on the representative, his expression unmoved as the senator begun. He listened.

"With what in mind? We have a high interest to forge long-lasting and mutually beneficial business relationships, not single deals. Your production capacities and availability throughout the Galaxy especially in former Empire space is a huge asset and with the latters fall, needs to be diversified to remain profitable."

The Serennian knew that the First Order was not even close to fill the empty space the Empire left, nor did it wish to do so in the same manner. But neither of them could right now afford to let pass on opportunity. The Trade Federation suffered the loss of a huge partner and the First Order was ready for immense investments and funding.

"We are ready to invest and to offer location as well as tariff reductions for possible long term contracts in development, research, arms and construction."

There was a single glance to the holographic projection behind them, then settled on the Supreme Leader Trajann Vemec who was quick to send the protection detail away in order to stay on the same level playing field during the following negotiation. There was a quiet understanding between them that they were both beings of immense power and influence, which made the deal that much more interesting than simply swindling another planetary government out of their hard earned credits.

It seemed the First Order had done their homework when it came to the Trade Federation, knowing that they were suffering a series of setbacks since the Empire's unfortunate collapse. But also understanding that the Order could never fill the void alone until they had taken much more territory. After all the Federation was an Industrial Powerhouse and needed various facilities in order to trade.

"You are well versed on how businesses' operate far more than the Moff Council of the Empire ever did. The Federation is more than equipped to handle the needs of your growing faction; and is interested in forming adequate partnerships as well." Was the response given, sending a compliment never hurt when it came to forging relations and would make the person more willing to compromise on certain issues.

"Tariff reductions are certainly a noble thing to offer, but we are a galactic enterprise and need much more in order to safeguard this investment. So I will propose something else which you might find agreeable. The Federation would get the first pick of the industry on a newly conquered world should you expand beyond your current borders." Laborr explained with a few hand motions in order to make the point clear, and sending a counterproposal.

Of course. They wanted more, but that was expected and definitely within the margins. A newly conquered world for their industry seemed fairly reasonable as long as the terms were right and the production was benefitting the First Order directly, it was a deal he wouldn't deny.

"Usually Moffs were more occupied with accumulating power and simple wealth, short term, not expanding too much on the ideals of long-term investments and partnerships, so I am not surprised. Furthermore, most of them experienced proper education."

"The suggestion is sound. A world conquered or acquired by us and its industry will go to yours truly. With full freedom to build and expand while workforce will be primarily used from the First Order, free labor, not droid or slaves. Employment is as important to us as expansion."

There was no doubt that the Imperial Moff Council had been preoccupied with acquiring power and wealth from their controlled regions even at the expense of the New Imperial Order/Empire. Although the real power behind the Imperial Regime was the Trade Federation and Director Gat Tambor who controlled a sizeable portion of industrial worlds. The First Order under Trajann Vemec in this regard was much more aware that needing a solid economic foundation was necessary before expansion could occur, and thus found the proposed counteroffer agreeable.

"Certainly there will be employment opportunities for your subjects should they actually be motivated to work. Of course we will be expecting compensation for any loss of quota fulfillment." Was the response given to the Supreme Leader, fully wanting to hire the citizens of the order should they actually be willing to work. But if such a thing did not occur then currency would have to be provided.
