DESCRIPTION
The Type 1 is an extremely large weapons emplacement built to kill capital ships in a single volley. It uses a small, solid, magnetic round encased in plasma to provide enough firepower to devestate large capital ships. The weapon works best when arrayed in a line to provide a better firing arc. The distincive look of the weapon is often seen on the flanks of Nothmiro Warships.
Strengths:
- Very High Damage: The shots from this weapon are able to dish out heavy damage to any ship unfortunate to get in the way.
- Plasma Rounds: Plasma weapons of this type easily boil away the armour of other starships
- Armoured: Due to the size of this weapon, it became imperative to armour it. It is covered in Turadium plating to protect it further from weapons
- Shields: This weapon, while still powerful, is comparatively weak to heavily shielded enemies, like Mon Calamari cruisers.
- Firing arc: This weapon has an extremely small firing arc, only around 3 degrees in any direction. With this in mind use against most corvettes or strike craft are out of the question.
- Power drain: This weapon can only be used sparingly, and has a a painfuly slow fire rate. It can only be mounted on ships at or over 700 meters in length.
