DESCRIPTION

Novean Technologies is an independent R&D company that focuses primarily on civilian and military starship technologies, with less than 3,000 active employees, the organisation is small by their competitor's standards. Corvus Spire, the organisation's director, views this as an advantage, enabling project teams to adopt agile work approaches, allowing expertise to be quickly moved from one project to the next.

The organisation operates on the bleeding edge, providing bespoke solutions to unique problems in both civilian and military environments. Combined with its small size, the organisation is popular amongst the civilian and planetary governments, who make up the bulk of its stakeholders. These contracts are used to further the organisation's ultimate objective to develop and produce experimental technologies, sometimes at the request of military stakeholders.

To avoid red tape and provide security to military contractors, most research takes place aboard a starship concealed in the Golus gas giant.

RATIONALE
Corvus founded the company, after selling his creator's businesses and operations while retaining those that furthered technological advancement, he restructured them into Novean Technologies.

The company operates a decentralized structure, with project leads being given the freedom to manage the day-to-day decisions that affect their project, making the company attractive to scientists and engineers who feel stifled by corporate red tape or planetary laws.

Generally, members of staff are treated well, but a willingness to undertake extreme methodologies where all other options have been exhausted poses a significant risk.
