NPC Event Posts? (Idea I would love criticism on)

So, I was up late last night and had a glorious idea. I see that a lot of people like to group up for missions, training, etc. And Dominions and the like usually require large groups as well, fighting and battling it out for control. But even with all of these things, everything must be planned out. What if someone were to DM a sudden event that required players to act on it? Maybe I am going crazy, but I think this could be a fantastic idea, and I would love to do it.

If you are lost, here is my idea. I would create an account solely for the purpose of creating an adventure/mission that must be tackled by a certain faction. Perhaps one of my adventures is a Mag-Train on Coruscant is taken over by Cultists of the One Sith. As the DM of the adventure, I wouldn't play a single character. I would play the entire force and DM the mission/adventure for those that were interested. The Mag-Train is taken over, and 3 Jedi players arrive on the scene to take the cultists down and save the hostages. I would DM them through the adventure, battling them and creating mishaps as they go.

Now granted, one could do this just by creating a character, but even as playing as a single character, should my character die during the event, I would need to create a whole new one. By creating an account solely for this purpose, I could introduce "boss" characters during the adventure that the other players would need to defeat. The cultists could be led by a fanatical Ex-Jedi Padawan or something. That character would only be created for the event, and would either be killed or apprehended should the players succeed.

Am I crazy for thinking this? Is this doable? I feel like it would be so much fun and could even encourage players to play together, instead of having to plan out certain adventures/missions.

Would I be breaking any site rules by doing this? Would anyone even like doing this? I think differently then others when it comes to roleplay, as me personally, I don't think of characters and what I would like to do with them. I think of adventures and missions and the trials and tribulations I can put others through. I feel like this might be from my early days as a DnD DM...

Anyway, I'm looking for criticism and thoughts from all please.

Thanks!

This is doable. It's been done before. You are welcome to pursue this at your leisure. You can even make it as crazy as you want providing you don't destroy any celestial bodies or use a Superweapon that might threaten a celestial body. You can even PM the Faction Admins of Major Factions and get their cooperation.

Enjoy! :D

Oh Boy oh boy oh boy oh boy

You don't realize what you have done. I won't be able to spend the next few days without lying awake, thinking of all the different NPC missions and adventures I can cook up.

Actually, both [member='Cryax Bane'] and [member='Chiasa Krivitas'] used to do that. It was fun to read.
