Since dominions as late has been on my mind I've begun to think about how could we make them a little more interesting with some depth. Since a lot of them involve an objective with some kind of resistance, I've noticed very few take it because well npc's don't offer much of a challenge and story.

So I want to share my ideas with you all and hear what you think. I'd like to make npc's challenging to a creative point and have them recurring often to make a story ark. We are all familiar with a tech tree. Those systems you use to level up your character in a game. Well what if we had an npc group that got stronger after every dominion?

As a the story builds we get to choose as a whole in what way would they challenge us next. Then icly we could expand the choice we made.

So I officially announce (the not so good) tech tree...

So I will explain them per row bottom to top.
1. Starships - this would be the first upgrade from the first dominion. After we get them into a retreat they would have to relocate. (Tier 1-6) (A second upgrade that everyone chooses would be picked after the first dom.)

2. Mechanic - this perk would allow the npc group to repair broken mechanical items like doors, turrets and droids.

3. Vehicles - this perk would give them access to vehicles. (I will add numbers to further upgrade it for light to heavy)

4. Vehicle upgrade - this perk would allow them to increase the durability of the vehicle's.

Row two
1. First aid - this would allow the npc's to conduct basic treatments on the field. (Will be tier 1-3)

2. Field medic - this allows them to conduct more advance procedures of the field with better equipment. (Tier 1-5)

Row three

1. Demolitions - this would give them access to granades. (Tier 1-2)

2. Improved demolitions - this would give them access to better explosives like bombs (tier 1-3)

3. Coordinated terrorism - with the love of collateral damage this would allow the npc's to conduct planned acts of terror. Hospitals, space ports anywhere that citizens group in the masses are a target.

Row four

1. Blaster rifles - they will have obtained better weapons (tier 1-3 further upgrade improves the ability to use the weapon)

2. Sniper rifles - this would give them long range capabilities (tier 1-3)

3. Improved damage - increase the damage of the weapons.
Tier 1 = 10%
Tier 2 = 25%
Tier 3 = 50%

4. Heavy weapon's - this gives them access to weapons like miniguns, rocket launchers and light mechine guns
Row five

1. attackers - this gives them the ability to attack better as a group.
2. Unity - becoming more infamous like minded individuals continue to join their cause. This increases the numbers of the npc's (tier 1-3)

3. defensive - this allows them to hold an area better when under attack. (Tier 1-3)

4. Intimidation - there group is now that infamous that citizens fear them and would rather serve them than face their wrath.

Row six

1. Close range accuracy - this improves the accuracy at close quarters (tier 1-2)

2. Mid range accuracy - improves the accuracy at mid range (tier 1-3)

3. Long range accuracy - this improves long range accuracy (tier 1-4)
4. Sneak - with the time and effort put into accuracy and precision they trained to become deadly assassins.

So tell me what you think and suggestions.

I'm not sure we need to implement a system so blatant as this. We could simply add to the capabilities of our NPC's as we write them through story. This does serve as a helpful guide to the elevation of skills and abilities, however.
