NPCs and How We Play Them

So, I wanted to see how other play their NPCs, and give my own take on it. First let me explain that Romeo was influenced by Jacen Solo, and Revan, along with the Reborn's Desann.
Regardless of this, the FO knows I take great advantage of the NPC Unit Creation. I feel we should make this part of the board more important, cause it is important, with this you can make such a great unit, that when you RP them no one can gripe about it as they were approved, and etc etc. So with this said, let me give an example.

When I play NPCs I usually just write it along with Romeo's actions, and part of the post, but when I do units, I tend to space out the two in the post, and give a little detail as to what they are, how many there are, what they are using etc etc.

Then I RP them like I would with Romeo. I like the idea, these are breathing, living people in our fiction. Thus, I think it appropriate to be aloud to RP them like you would your character.

How do you feel about that? How do you usually RP them?

It depends on the NPC.

If its a large group (in the dozens or above) I'll probably just write their part of the post (separate from my PC) from an objective emotionless standpoint, or from my PC's third person perspective if applicable (for instance, if they are personally commanding them, or one among them).

If there is only a few, I'll probably switch between third perspectives as an NPC becomes more pertinent to what I'm currently doing, and have their part of the post completely separate from my own.

If its a single NPC, and they pertain heavily to the plot, I'll write them either exactly I would my PC, but separate from any PC posting, or have my PC focus very strongly on this particular NPC to the point its almost a secondary character.

If its a single NPC, and they don't pertain considerably to the plot (you know the ones, the ones you kill for fun because you're angsty and powerful sith), then I write them right inside my PC posts.
