Alvaria, home of it's ruler Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr .

The Sith Lord had many titles. He had inherited the title of leader of the Tsis'Kaar after the death of Darth Ophidia, was the assumed heir of House Marr and served as king of Alvaria. One of the other titles he held was master. He was master to Darth Dekaltis Darth Dekaltis and mentor to Zachariah Conway Zachariah Conway , despite the fact that Zachariah saw the man as his master and he was certain that the lord of Alvaria saw him as an apprentice.

Today, the title of master was the one that was important. Today was a day of assessments, for Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr to see how his student was progressing in his studies of the force and in his studies of the lightsaber. The duo had been in many battles together and had seen much conflict together. They had spent countless hours learning together and Zachariah had also spent hours reading books and learning the old knowledge of the Sith.

It was time to see how much all of that studying paid off.

Zachariah was aware that he was being assessed by his mentor. He hadn't really stressed about it, a lot had changed since he had really began to learn and he was a much different person now. He was more confident in his abilities, more sure of himself. Using the force had become so much more natural to him since Felucia, he wasn't having to force his abilities. They were just coming to him.

Dressed simply, Zachariah walked through the halls of the Alvaria palace towards the room which Malum had assigned for his assessments. He'd remained at the palace following on from the big meeting which had been attended by all of Malum's closest associates. During his walk, he passed the dining hall where the big meeting had occured only days prior.

Making his way into the room, the young boy offered a smile. "My Lord" he spoke, bowing his head in respect. He was ready for whatever Malum had to throw at him, of that he was certain. He would pass the assessments, he would make Malum proud of him and he would prove just how powerful he was truly starting to become in the force. He was going to prove that it was time to take him seriously.

He was certain of it.

Malum smiled underneath the mask, turning his gaze upon the entrance of his apprentice, no one should have favourites, that much he knew very well from every cliche media regarding parenting, and it certainly was not as if Zachariah Conway Zachariah Conway was his favourite by any means.

...On the other hand, he certainly had a special bond with the lad.

Though, did he not have special bonds with all of his apprentices?

Perhaps... some of them were far too special.

He wiped the thoughts from his mind, as that everpresent image of red eyes continued to haunt him still.

"According to some, the proper address would be Your Majesty," Malum tsked, teasingly, according to most on this world, it would be Your Imperial Majesty, but that was something which he would need to still explain to his apprentice, especially important and apt considering his next words, "Though I imagine your grandfather, or at least his executioner, would have my head, if they heard you were calling me that." Malum chuckled.

It was only in the privacy of rooms like this that he could speak so... casually regarding the Sith Emperor, Darth Empyrean Darth Empyrean , that he did so in front of his own grandson, adopted or not, indeed spoke of how close that he had become with the young Conway.

For indeed, where with Darth Dekaltis Darth Dekaltis he was always... amusingly frustrated.

Where with Nouqai Veil Nouqai Veil , he always had to have some measure of concern and worry for the fragile girl.

Where with... Ansisa Ansisa ... so much could be said.

So much had been said.

But what evidence did they require apart from the bond that still kept then together, even as they had been the farthest apart that they had ever been.

With Zachariah... it was hard to describe.

He saw a younger version of himself.

It was not perfect, far from perfect in fact, but the essence, the core, if he squinted, it was there.

Such was why he had so easily taken him under his wing.

Such was why he had trained and taught him to the best of his capability.

Such was why he kept his secret.

Such was why he encouraged, subtly enough, the budding bond between him and his cousin, Revna Revna .

Such was why he trained the boy to rule, as an heir to an Emperor should be trained.

He quirked an eyebrow at the boy... that title felt odd even when he had first met him, after all, Malum was not much older.

It felt odder now, young Zachariah had come far.

Malum widened his stance, fanning and presenting his hands outward,
"Now show me all you have learned in the Force, after that, we shall see if you are ready to usurp your master." Malum smirked in challenge, eyes subtly indicating to the Sith Sword he wielded at his back, a duel would be how they would end the day's events.

He did after all need to check if he kept to his constant drills regarding lightsabre forms after all.

Yes... that was certainly the only reason... yes.
