OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Nuclear-propelled Kinetic Kill Vehicles are missiles whose functioning is at once complicated and brutally simple - a run-of-the-mill propulsion system brings it near its target and a guidance system ensures it is facing the right direction. Upon activation, a nuclear device activates, releasing a burst of radiation which bounces against a specialised casing until it hits a liner.
This liner is propelled forward at immense velocities and forced into the shape of an aerodynamic slug in the process.
Needless to say, being on the receiving end is generally a life-ending experience. While typically used against the vital systems of vehicles, Globex has been known to equip Stryders, Probots, or infantry with small variants suitable for assassinations - even the C1 variant is generally able to punch through nearly a metre of biocrete on the way to its target, though this can admittedly push the slim projectile off course.
- Intent: Missiles which launch a hyper-accelerated metal slug instead of exploding.

- Primary Source: Inspiration
- Manufacturer: The Globex Corporation
- Affiliation: The Globex Corporation
- Market Status: Open-Market
- Model: Nuclear-propelled Kinetic Kill Vehicle | NpKKV
- Modularity: Moderate, primarily size.
- The liner can be swapped out by materials which are less able to retain their slim form on contact; while this lowers penetration, it also ensures that the bulk of the projectile's kinetic force will be released into the target, thus decreasing overpenetration.
- Production: Mass-Produced
- Material: Hexaplast Chassis, Reflective Casing, Fissile Materials, Liner.
- Classification: Explosively Formed Penetrator
- Size: Average*
- Variable; yield proportional to size.
- Weight: Average*
- Variable; yield proportional to size.
- Explosive Type: Kinetic
- Delivery Method: Self-Propelled
- Effective Range: Long Range
- Area Of Effect: Pinpoint
- Damage Output: Very High
- These missiles come in five standard variants / sizes, namely NpKKV-C1 through NpKKV-C5. The C1 is small enough to be launched from an underslung rocket launcher compatible with a standard blaster rifle whereas the S5 is comparable in size to an assault concussion missile.
- Nuclear Suckerpunch: NpKKV slugs deliver massive amounts of kinetic energy with pinpoint precision. It is not unusual for them to punch straight through heavy armour and even deflector shields, the latter being achieved by overwhelming local shield emitters.
- Overpenetration: NpKKV slugs have a tendency to overpeneterate their targets; there is a significant risk of collateral damage.
