PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Nuro is a tall, lanky IG-86 Droid with - on the first glimpse - no apparent modification aside from some old, vaguely purple paint jobs as well as their purposely kept wear and tear.
They are very careful about visually not standing out too much, especially in public situations in which they will do their best to act as ‘default’ and uninteresting as possible.

Weaponry:
─── They (can and will) make use of whatever they can find.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Contrary to what most people would expect upon looking at a Sentinel Droid and due to never receiving any memory resets, Nuro managed to accumulate a respectable amount of experience and even - to an extent - wisdom.
They are calm, laid back and tend to very carefully analyse and assess situations and people around them before rushing into action.
Being a droid in a galaxy full of meatbags comes both, as a curse and a blessing to them, so are they skilled and experienced at ‘blending in’ by default, since many if not most people rarely consciously think about the droids in their vicinity, yet they also have to be constantly vigilant, not stand out too much and show no signs of their actual mental maturity and personal development as to not end up viewed as enough of a inconvenience at best, threat at worst to warrant being attacked and/or target of attempted memory wipe.
Despite all time and experience, and to an extent even socialising, Nuro however never mastered the skills of humour, sarcasm or being subtle.
They give off the aura of a perpetually overworked delta-shifter despite neither requiring rest or composure, and they will - often unintentionally and obliviously to it - amuse the people around with their dry, brutally honest and morbid outlook on the universe.
STRENGTHS
- Supremely intelligent.
- Despite their spindly appearance, they are a strong, fast and agile opponent who can handle most common weapon types.
WEAKNESSES
- They have the empathy and diplomatic expertise of a potato (Baked).
- Easily distracted by shiny objects - especially laser pointers…
HISTORY
Nuro's history predates even that of the Valiant itself, originally having been brought aboard as one of the personal bodyguards of her first Captain.
With Valiant's initial crews usually being small and/or temporary, Nuro soon found themself entrusted with upholding whichever task/s aboard needed a fill-in-officer before they eventually became the ship's first permanent acting Navigator.
Having achieved communication with the Valian’t computer from a relatively early point of their ‘career’, Nuro recognised an almost kindred type of spirit in the ship - opposed to its crew/s -, acknowledging that the ship’s AI and the Sentinel Droid had far more in common than either of them had with their organic peers.
Nuro’s Captain was a mercenary called Tanix the Revenant; an ambitious but legendarily unlucky Commander who would horrendously misjudge every picked battle, be declared KIA at least four times before eventually finding his (supposed) final end at the hands of Nuro deciding that the ineptitude of the Valiat’s Captain had reached intolerable levels of danger being put on the ship’s metaphorical shoulders.
This marked Nuro’s first (of many) disposals of inept Captains and/or crews in favour of prolonging a safe existence of the ship as well as Nuro’s own fledgeling personality.
A set of circumstances that soon enough would prove mutually beneficial to both, Nuro as well as the Valiant.
Regularly interfacing and communicating with the mysterious, seemingly haunted ship, Nuro and the Valiant soon deduced that their most likely means of safety and prosperity in a galaxy rigged against both of them lay in cooperation, so they allied with one another, looking after each other's needs and safety alike.
Throughout the decades; perhaüps even centuries roaming aboard the Valiant, Nuro thus amassed vast amounts of knowledge of coordinates, hidden places and secret routes, which made them a valuable asset through her various crews and Captains throughout the years, and they had come to decide to purposely uphold this, and - more so - make themself essentially indispensable on purpose; following their desire to prolong their own existence for as long and comfortable as possible.
By now Nuro had approached the closest proximity to legal 'sentience' acknowledged (and preferably prevented) by most worlds, which on the other hand did and still does put them at a greater risk in core worlds.
As a skilled strategist, allied with their very spaceship, both Nuro and the Valiant put up with the necessity of crews, but only for as long as it did not endanger the safety of either.
Seeing and having to rid themselves of many Captains throughout the decades, Nuro by now has become detached, distanced, and to an extent even weary; tirelessly upholding the circle to stay afloat for as long as possible…
Their latest Captain, an independent Pirate named Willow Fletcher has shown some potential so far; potential and qualities only few of the organics they met possess - The ability to see Nuro as a person.
An unexpected social anomaly Nuro has to yet fully analyse and try to not lose their neutrality over…
