Both lightsabers are identical in appearance and functionality. Covered in silver casing made of phrik and cortosis, the weapons cannot be damaged by lightsaber blades and provide excellent protection for two synthetic lightsaber crystals hidden inside each hilt. The presence of two focus crystals is justified mainly by the necessity of a bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse, which enables both weapons to safely work underwater, fully functional and without suffering damage. When activated, the lightsabers shine in blood red colour traditionally associated with Sith and release a soft hum. In addition, the twin hilts are slightly curved to fit well into Veles' flippered hands, allowing for precise blade control and greater flexibility. Several ornamental carvings adorn the hilts, but serve no practical purpose other than adding style and revealing their creator an artist that sees his personal weapons as invaluable pieces of art, going so far as to affectionately name both lightsabers.
