PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Tough pod: When you think tough as nails, this Drop Pod might come to mind, as it is designed to drop into any environment no matter the extremities of it. be it land, sea, space or anywhere in between, the pod will get to its location...except when you're really unlucky.
  • Size fits all: The HASS-1A is designed as a device which can be put in place of escape pods, but could also replace hangar bays for starfighters on certain ships, with it's size roughly that of an escape pod, one HASS drop pod equals one starfighter when used as a replacement for either a starfighter or escape pod. Allowing it to be fit to any sort of ship apart from an...actual starfighter.
  • Boarding Party: Thanks to its tough and durable material, integrated shield system and drill spike with grapping cables, this pod can also be used to actually penetrate enemy warships in space, allowing the drill spike and grappling cables to attach to the target and secure in the pod. This however must be said, is not a safe maneuvre at all.
WEAKNESSES
  • Shield system: The integrated shield system is there mainly for low power weaponry suh as personal fire arms or lasercannons of lower caliber comparable to that of common starfighters, it is however not at all very fitting against larger weaponry such as turbolasers, which would overwhelm it with just one or two shots.
  • No steering: Though the pod has a thurster which can be adjusted for speed, it has no sidethrusters for steering of any kind and thus has to rely solely on the launch procedures and the ship where it comes from to properly find its mark, now ofcourse the grappling cables can be used, but they won't be of any help when the drop pod has already reached terminal velocity right after launch.
  • Highly uncomfortable: No seats, no cushions, no comfort. This is a barebones military piece of equipment which CAN see some use in corporate and civilian areas, but lacks any sort of comfort or physical safety systems. So it is adviced any personel aboard should be armored properly or they'd end up as squished meat upon impact.
DESCRIPTION
Figuring out a way to deliver goods, transport personel or droids with realative ease and from a safe distance in regards to ground-air weaponry, anti-air weaponry, etc. The engineering teams at Nargath Holdings figured that an extremely tough escape pod-esque drop pod could fit the bill. Constructed from highly energy and heat resisting materials such as Ersteel 145 and Quadranium, fitted with a tunqstoid lining for structural integrity and heat resistant carbonite coating for atmospherical entry, these drop pods are crude, tough and effective.

To at the very least add some semblance of rationality, these drop pods have been fitted out with a basic life support system in case of undesired collisions, lading off the mark, etc and also a communications system for that very same reason. However, there were no uses for comforts or any embellishments whatsoever. Aimed to be sold for more hardline tasks, emergency break throughs of blockades, aidpackages on planets where larger ships can't reach, etc.

Ravenfire Ravenfire so let me get this straight, you want me to turn a drop pod with no steering whatsoever to be turned into a ship... meaning a ship that can't steer, generally has no use in regards to being a boarding party when a target's shield is active and basically in that case does nothing a simple, cheap fighter can't do better...yeah no. Obviously missing the point here, the ship to ship thing is a minimal extra, not the main point of it.

I'm requesting a recheck on this or just archive it.

John Locke John Locke the whole thing says it: no steering besides the direction in which they are aimed...that is movement, but in one direction, like a torpedo fired from a tube or a launcher. with boarding you just need to have the enemy ship in the line of fire...this is nitpicking gentlemen, pointless non-sensical nitpicking. it literally says there is no steering. I changed a few words to further reiterate this.
