- NONE
- Very Heavy: Due to the shield generator's weight, it is limited to use in ships meassuring 1000m and upwards, as it would be way too cumbersome for smaller ships to install.
- Poisonous parts: Should the shield generator get damaged in combat, it can't be repaired by organic being without protective gear, as the infinium parts are poisonous due to high mercury content.
With the growing market of shipplacements, Nargath Holdings had decided that their focus on mainly weapons came at the disadvantage of being overly reliant on other companies for their defensive ship placements. As such, engineers were encouraged to start thinking of ways to increase the company's portfolio by also penetrating the market of defensive ship placements. Engineers worked around the clock, eventually deciding on coupling the famous Repulsor Ion Arc Reactor to an electronically charged Infinium 1458 coil for optimal generation of an electromagnetized shield, by using the coil in an infinium 1458 core with an opposite current running through it, the shield generated by this polarization is more powerful and capable than most commonly found shield generators.
To increase the shield placement's overall power, the engineers used not just one, but two RIAR, making it so that not only did the SP-1A shield generator have a back up powersource in case of emergency shielding being necessary, it also made sure that should the generator lose the juice from the primary reactor, they could still throw up a secondary shield with about 50% the power of the primary shield, which would prove crucial in heated combat situations.
Alas, the use of two reactors also caused the generator to be quite large and heavy, making it impossible to be installed in ships under one thousand meters in length.
