TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Oppressive firepower: While it doesn't boast more lasercanons or turbolasers compared to other cruisers in its class, the Tyrant-Class' main focus is its massive array of missile pods and tubes, having such a large number that it is comparable in number to that of a battlecruiser or a very offensive minded star destroyer.
  • Perfect in its role: Meant as a blockade ship or planetary control (Oppression) cruiser, this vessel is perfectly suited for holding a planet hostage, especially with the right specific payload prepared. A handful of these ships could essentially suppress any planetside rebellion by simply unleashing its payload.
  • Battlefield Suppression: The battlefield is no different for the Tyrant-class than holding a planet hostage. It's excellent firepower and wide range of missiles can effectively be perfectly suited for suppressive fire on any enemy fleets, making this vessel a staple in any properly ordained and organized fleet.
  • Wide range for weaponry: Thanks to the missile launcher ring placed on the central spine, this ship does compensate for its low maneuvrability by being able to fire off its multitude of missiles in a range of nearly 360 degrees, making it so that advancing on this ship's position must be done with a lot of care and courage.
  • Heavily shielded: Because of the use of both the Primera and Secunda shielding systems, this ship is virtually untouchable as long as both systems are operational and fresh, though they can still be overloaded and shut down internally.
  • Point Defense: With the addition of the Mono type point defense system, this ship has an excellent defense in comparison to lot of its contemporary competitors, making sure that it is a much longer lasting vessel and a fine addition to any fleet seeking to do long operations.
WEAKNESSES
  • Full Automation: While this ship has many advantages with the full automation, any issue with the ship's AI or internal processors may cause it to shut down, which if the crew is only the bare minimum, would drastically lower if not fully remove any operational capacity.
  • Atmospheric Traversing: Due to its heavy payload at all times and the fact it does not boast a large contingent of engines compared to other vessels within the N&Z line up, the Tyrant class even in its newest version seems to have some issues when it maintains itself in atmospheric rather than spatial conditions. It will be slower and more cumbersome within planetary atmospheres that are denser than 0.5g.
  • No HIMS system: Not having an HIMS onboard of this ship, makes it vulnerable to both man-made and natural gravity wells.
  • Structural weak points: Due to the massive missile launcher ring on the central spine of the ship, the midsection is structurally more vulnerable than more conservative ship designs and could be considered a prime target when the shields are down.
DESCRIPTION

The Tyrant IV-class was a natural and progressive update made to the existing Tyrant III-class , utilizing the company's advanced TIBER II platform in order to further improve the ship's defenses and make it more up to date with the current technologic progression. Utilizing the SSP Sixtus shield system, the vessel's defensive capacities have caught up to its competitors and the use of both the SLAB and AIMS have granted the Tyrant the necessary variability in combat situations it sorely needed. With this new update, the vessel has been renamed to a Suppression Cruiser in its role description and has become longer, but less bulkier and more compact around the central superstructure.

Relying on an increased variety of missile options, outfitted with two HKAC cannons, this vessel has further improved its specifications in terms of oppressive firepower and battlefield suppression. With this latest update, the Tyrant has gotten the official title of being the N&Z's most successful and most widely recognized ship.
