  • Manufacturer:
    • Shadow Mind
  • Affiliation:
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: Oblivion Mantle Mk. I
  • Modularity: Limited (Integrated into specific Kainite stealth vessels; requires specialized installation and calibration)
  • Production: Semi-Unique (Produced in limited numbers, reserved for the most elite Kainite Operatives, Shikkari assassin cells)
  • Material:
    • Nykkalt Conductive Mesh: Enhances stealth by diffusing electronic emissions.
    • Obsidian Voidshards: Dark side-infused crystalline formations that suppress energy signals and mask presence in the Force.
    • Stygian-Triprismatic Polymer Lattice: Provides structural reinforcement and resistance against detection-based disruptions by absorbing, scattering, and refracting sensor signals, further enhancing stealth capabilities and structural integrity against electronic warfare.
    • Reflec and Nightshadow Polymer Coating: Primarily absorb and scatter electromagnetic signals, reducing sensor visibility and making it harder for enemies to get clear readings.

  • False Sensor Echoes: The system injects misleading data into enemy sensors, making the ship appear larger, smaller, or in multiple locations simultaneously. This confounds targeting solutions, forcing enemy operators to guess or spread fire ineffectively.
  • Signature Diffusion Matrix: Reduces or alters the ship's energy signature to mimic background radiation, making it blend with nebulae, solar flares, or celestial phenomena. This allows stealth vessels to remain hidden even amidst open space, deceiving passive detection systems.
  • Dynamic Phase Marking: Can randomly adjust the ship's transponder ID, creating sensor confusion and making pursuit nearly impossible. Enemies attempting to track or maintain missile locks may suddenly lose their targeting data as the ship's electronic identity shifts unexpectedly.
  • Multi-Layered Cloaking Synergy: Dramatically enhances the effectiveness of Nykkalt plating, Voidshards, and standard cloaking devices by scattering, diffusing, and actively negating gravimetric anomalies, making passive tracking extremely difficult even when primary cloaking systems are compromised or offline.
  • Hyperwave Dissipation System: Absorbs and distorts hyperwave signals, making the ship's hyperspace trajectory unreadable. Consequently, enemies cannot anticipate arrival vectors or intercept Sith vessels during hyperspace travel.

  • Tracking Nightmare: Confuses enemy targeting systems by overloading sensor feeds with false echoes and misleading energy distortions.
  • Hyperspace Masking: Prevents detection before, during, and after hyperspace jumps, making the ship appear to disappear mid-jump.
  • Cloaking Amplification: Dramatically enhances standard cloaking fields by scattering, diffusing, and actively disrupting sensor signals, making passive detection extremely difficult even when active cloaking is compromised or offline.
  • Adaptive Signal Camouflage: Can imitate friendly signals or appear as non-threat anomalies, allowing Sith vessels to slip past enemy patrols undetected.

  • Energy Intensive: Drains power rapidly when fully engaged, requiring the ship to divert energy from shields or weapons.
  • Not a True Cloaking Device: While highly effective at deception, this is not an invisibility field and cannot prevent visual detection at close range.
  • Pattern Recognition Weakness: Advanced AI-enhanced sensor arrays can begin to recognize anomalies if the ship follows predictable movement patterns.
  • Limited Duration: If used continuously, the Mantle Field can overheat and cause feedback distortions, forcing the ship to disengage and cool down.

Developed in the darkened research sanctums of Malsheem by the Shadow Mind, the Oblivion Mantle Field is the ultimate stealth deception system created for Kainite Sith stealth ships. Unlike standard cloaking devices that rely on light-bending and sensor nullification, the Mantle Field takes a more insidious approach, actively manipulating enemy sensor data to create phantom signals, energy distortions, and unpredictable false readings.

By integrating Obsidian Voidshards, Nykkalt mesh, and a Stygian-Triprismatic Polymer Lattice, the system can suppress real energy signatures while simultaneously feeding enemy sensors misleading data. This ensures that ships using the Mantle Field appear as ghost echoes, distorted anomalies, or even as non-threatening civilian craft depending on the desired deception.

However, the Mantle Field is not infallible. It cannot erase visual presence at close range, and high-energy use makes prolonged operation unsustainable in extended engagements. Furthermore, highly advanced AI-driven tracking systems may begin to recognize discrepancies over time, necessitating the use of randomized flight patterns and additional cloaking measures. Despite these limitations, the Oblivion Mantle Field is a key asset in Sith infiltration, allowing Shikkari assassin cells and Kainite warships to move unseen, strike in the shadows, and vanish before the enemy even realizes they were there.
