Obtaining a Canon Item

Hello,

So I was wondering what sort of thing is necessary for obtaining a canon item? I was thinking of doing a thread where I and several others go in search of the crash site of Plo Koon's fighter on Cato Neimoidia in the hopes of obtaining his lightsaber.

My question is, is this sort of thing allowed? Do you need to submit the request somewhere (i.e., the factory)?

Thanks

No no request just do it and make a thread/stroyline from it. Also factor in the amount of time between the items last appearance and now. A crash site would most likely have been cleared centuries ago so it wouldn't just be there. However some items in old ruins would most likely. Overall have fun

http://starwarsrp.net/topic/31008-last-known-owners-of-canon-items/ < This list here is all the things that have been found from Canon technology. It is here that you can look to see if it is taken, which it is not, and therefore, you can go to about the general place in which Plo would have died and search. I would say a series of threads for you to do this in order.

1) Find information about the Jedi Master because those records may have been "lost" over the 800+ years since Luke Skywalker was alive. Which was a good 50+ years before Order 66
2) Have a thread where you and maybe a few others talk/Actually get to the place he is at and find the lightsaber.
3) Have a thread where you refurbish the hilt because after 850+ years, it may be a little rusty.

This is all my opinion, so you don't actually have to do this, but I would simply because it is a canon item.

Similarly as those above me stated, you needn't ask or request permission, just look at the above mentioned thread and start your own. While 20 posts may seem like a good number to go for, the more personal it is to a canon character, the more posts I would recommend doing. I'm not saying 20 posts isn't a good number, because that's looking real good right now in the thread that I am involved in with two others to obtain a canonical Sith Holocron (even though I'm aiming closer to the 100 mark. Or as close as it gets before we throw in the towel and go for it), you may just want to gauge it based on how important this would be to A) SWRP, B ) Your character, C) Yourself. The more important it is to any of those three, the more you may want to delve into a thread for development.

Not saying that you should write an amazing Novella like what I just read in the Factory, though.
