- Long-ranged Quad Superheavy Turbolaser System [64 Attack]
- 4 Heavy Long-raged Binary Fusion Ion Cannons [36 Attack Points]
- 10 Helloid Missile Launchers (replaces 10 usual missile launchers; uses extra space) [200 Attack]
- 8 Electromagnetic Proton Torpedo Batteries [64 Attack] - Electromagnetic proton torpedo batteries have been added to the vessel, using the newly developed electromagnetic torpedo launch system to give the vessel’s load-out some extra oomph. The batteries, arranged on all sides of the vessel, are comprised of 10 launch tubes each. Around 5,000 tons worth of cargo space was used for torpedo storage, with the internal arrangement of storage placing the ammunition containment in positions extremely close to the Obulette’s launch tubes, and dividing the cargo space between each of the 8 has given the torpedoes in the system the ability to be connected to the torpedo batteries, thus letting them be readied to fire rather quickly. Without the storage space, 240 guided proton torpedoes are ready for loading and prompt launch at all times thanks to the batteries being arranged with their own munitions containment system.
- 150 turbolasers [150 Attack]
- 30 medium double turbolasers (from scavenged vessel) [120 Attack, or something]
- 50 Rapidfire Ion Cannons [50 Attack]
- Ra Missile Defense Turrets [Maybe 30 defense; there are enough for the entire vessel]
- Witch Fire CIWS [Uhh… probably, like, 30 to 60 defense?]
- 15 Rapidfire Quad Laser Turrets [15 Defense]
- 24 Rapidfire Point-Defense Turrets [24 Defense]
- 12 Triple Point Defense Lasers [36 Defense]
- 4 Dynamo-class Tractor/Tractor Pressor Beam Projectors (one on every major side of the vessel) [4 Support]
Defenses: Extreme
- Quadruple Layered Mon Calamari shielding w/back-up shield generators
- Double layered Pelagia Star armor

Hyperdrive Class: Very high: 0.5
SPECIAL FEATURES
Standard Systems
- Military-grade Life Support & Environmental Control Systems with a standard redundant back-up
- Military-grade Navigational Systems with a standard redundant back-up
- Military-grade Multispectral Long-range Sensor Array with a standard redundant back-up
- Military-grade Targeting Suite & Automated Fire Coordination system (though gunners can still be used)
- Improved Power Control Systems - the systems allow the ship’s operators to direct energy from one system or subsystem in the ship to another, such as routing engine power to the shields, or deactivating a weapons system until it is needed to achieve the same thing. It is similar in function to the Unbreakable engine system, but is instead focused on the power control and direction systems rather than the propulsion system.
- Proton-8 Reactor - The TDV Obulette has been modified with a Proton-8 reactor, which replaces two other reactors. Capable of powering much larger systems, it is currently equipped without modified power transfer systems to compensate, leading to continued power draw issues. Should the power transfer systems be modified to compensate, the issue will dissipate easily. If this is done, the Proton-8 reactor will give the Obulette as much energy as an Imperial star destroyer, and this could allow heavier turbolasers to be added or for them to be made into dual turbolasers, however for now that is not being done.
Navigation & Propulsion
- Beacon Finder
- Incoming ship detector
- Additional Sublight Engines - Two additional sublight engines have been added to the vessel to allow it to stay remotely mobile with the additions. However, it is still about 30% slower than the usual Scythe-class vessel.
- Sublight Engine Overdrive Module
- Hyperion interdiction module
- QQ-C15 Silkworm Hypertransit Package
Communications
- Long-range Communications Array
- Hyperwave transmitter
- Holonet Transceiver
- Crew Communications System [intercoms, fleet coms]
- Fleet coms include chips that allow communication, identification of crew and their rank, tracking of the crew, and are connected to the ship database to allow easy access to information on it (should you have the right security clearance); can be linked to datapads
- Encrypted networking
- Distress Signal Beacon
- Encrypted HoloNet Transceiver (received from salvaged vessel)
- False ID Telesponder w/several false telesponder profiles - though kind of odd for such a large vessel, you never know when it’ll come in handy.
- Friend-Foe Identifier
Tactical Systems
- http://starwarsrp.net/topic/60044-oribeskaryc-little-red-escape-pod/]Ori’beskaryc Escape Pods
- Enhanced Combat Sensors (as part of the Targeting Suite & Automated Fire Coordination system) (received from salvaged vessel; augmented with Mon Calamari targeting sensors)
- Can host BattleNet, and Combat Information Center
- Lock & incoming projectile warning system
- Immediate vicinity warning
- Pelagia Star armor - The Pelagia Star possessed some of the most durable armor available to a starship. Now, mixed with matrix armor and upgraded Mon Calamari shielding, the Obulette is capable of withstanding even more than the Pelagia Star thanks to the double layering required to use all of the vessel’s armor. On top of the double layering, the bridge and key systems have been protected with extra armor, seeing as how the Pelagia Star was about 2,500 meters, and the Obulette is only 1,000. To give a sense of its power, it could probably withstand the full force of more than three of the galaxy’s mightiest star destroyers, thanks to being double layered - it is even triple layered in some places.
- Mon Calamari Shielding: Based on contracted Mon Cal tech, both Alliance specialists as well as the research and development department at SoroSuub have reverse engineered enough of the original schematics to maintain shield efficiency despite the need for sacrifices elsewhere. The Mon Calamari shielding is quadruple layered, with a more standard back-up system using the same Mon Calamari shielding. The main layer is made up of a particle shield and molecular shield that will defend against projectile weaponry as well as energy weaponry. The second layer is made up of an ion shield that helps to protect against ionic weaponry and interference. The third layer is made up of a rad-dampening shield and an atmospheric-friction shield. The fourth layer is made up of a relativistic shield that will protect against the temporal effects of some rarer anomalies.
- Shielding Modifications: Each shield generator has been individually shielded, to protect it from the opposition. Modifications allow the vessel to individually shut down the different shielding types in each layer.
- Battle Analysis Computer & Command Module - A development of the Battle Analysis Computer allows things on the ground and in space to be kept track of, vessels to be analyzed and taken into account with ship profiles, their locations, and the evaluation of their status being kept track of while the ship’s databanks run analysis that allow targeting computers to pinpoint weak points of vessels in their shield and hull signatures, detect holes in a fighter screen, track enemy gun emplacement trajectories, and overall aid in the battle. Other systems allow battles to be managed from space, and for the ship to function as command and control from space, keeping track of friendlies and enemies on the ground, air, and sea alike.
- Communications Traffic Monitoring - The Obulette is capable of monitoring communications traffic from all sides, giving it more capabilities as a command and control vessel.
- Stealth/Counter-Sensor Modifications - Though not the stealthiest vessel, the TDV Obulette has the capacity to appear as though it is a much smaller vessel than it really is, even to the point that its engine output mimics this - it is even capable of not appearing to enemies at all on sensors, allowing it to get extremely close to other ships, when it is in its stealth mode. Vectrals allow improved maneuvering while simultaneously scattering and dampening exhaust emissions to the point that the Obulette appears to be emitting the exhaust of a vessel smaller than a corvette. A bandorium-based counter-sensor package combined with a sensor mask make up the primary stealth capabilities of the Obulette, countering sensors effectively while generating a mask that can help make the vessel appear smaller or, when in stealth mode, prevent sensors from seeing it entirely. A thrust trace damper captures the exhaust before it is scattered and dampened, making a near fool-proof method of hiding exhaust entirely when one wants to do more than make the vessel appear smaller. The gravitic amplitude modulator can serve well against the Yuuzhan Vong, or allow further stealth against enemies.
- Partially Hardened Against EMPs and Ionic Weaponry - If you can’t fight, make sure that you can run away. That’s one of the best ways to survive in space. Unless physically destroyed, parts of the Obulette, such as controls, display panels, you know, the things you need to control the also hardened navigation computer, hyperdrive, propulsion system, and life support, are capable of resisting EMPs and ionic weaponry. This allows the vessel to make a quick escape should the rest of it be disabled. Unfortunately, nearly nothing else except for the only hardened weapons system (which is directly below) will work - maybe one of the more basic communications systems - as they aren’t hardened, but at least you’re alive right? Well, only maybe. If someone attempts to disable the ship, it is best to get away as fast as possible if you can’t fight.
- Electromagnetic Torpedo Launch System
- Ionization Matrix
- Cap Drain Module x 16 for vessel
- Cap Drain Module x 26 for Silkworm Hypertransit Package
Crew Amenities & Necessities
- Infirmary
- Military-Grade Plumbing and Water & Waste Recycling
- Internal Hull Panels - Essentially computers on the wall, these screens can be used to find information, help direct people through a vessel, and more.
- Holographic displays and monitors
- Holographic tactical display - All crew members make use of helms that possess a heads-up display. The HUD, combined with the holographic tactical display, produces a crew that is more capable of navigation, analyzing situations, tactical analysis, and it also allows them to view outside of the ship because the helmet mounted display is linked to numerous systems, including the individually shielded cameras (and their redundant back-ups) that let them do this.
- Luxury Entertainment Systems
- Meditation Chambers
Misc Systems
- Structural integrity shielding
- Nine extendable docking tubes
- Internal bulkheads can be separated and even jettisoned from the rest of the vessel; shielding can also be used during separation. This system includes reinforced and shielded blast doors, airway cutoff systems, non-lethal gas dispersal, fire containment/extinguishment system, and even an internal turret network
- Containment unit for torpedoes and missiles - The containment unit for munitions in the storage bays is capable of preventing an explosion there from destroying the rest of the ship.
- High security Detention Cells
- Redundant socketguard protected systems
- Redundant de-ionizers
- Saotome Repair System
- Saotome Recovery Upgrade
- Damorian Solar Collectors
Strengths:
- Standard Systems Upgraded - The life support, navigation systems, sensor array, and targeting array have all been replaced with upgraded equipment, all of which have redundant back-ups.
- Dependable: Based on several previous design iterations, the Scythe is built on a battle tested and combat proven frame. The prevalence of these cruisers throughout the Defense Fleet has led to a manufacturing process with a minimum of defects.
- Multi-Role: Whether it’s deep space combat patrol, serving as part of a task force, or transporting personnel for humanitarian aid, the Scythe-class is a mainstay of the Defense Fleet for a reason. Like its larger cousin, the Trimiran Star Defender, the Scythe heavy cruiser has proven itself as the Alliance's ship of choice for its class.
- Mon Calamari Shielding: Based on contracted Mon Cal tech, both Alliance specialists as well as the research and development department at SoroSuub have reverse engineered enough of the original schematics to maintain shield efficiency despite the need for sacrifices elsewhere. The Mon Calamari shielding is triple layered, with a more standard back-up system using the same Mon Calamari shielding. The shielding is made up of particle shield and molecular shield that will defend against projectile weaponry as well as energy weaponry. It includes an ion shield that helps to protect against ionic weaponry and interference. Finally, there is a rad-dampening shield, an atmospheric-friction shield, and a relativistic shield that will protect against the temporal effects of some rarer anomalies.
- Pelagia Star armor - The Pelagia Star possessed some of the most durable armor available to a starship.
- Boosters - A five minute boost of speed can be used by making use of a fuel injector to allow the Obulette to move into position with vessels of a similar size. This allows the Obulette to become faster than the usual Scythe-class vessel temporarily.
- More Changes? - The Obulette’s new systems have been arranged in such a way that has afforded the vessel some limited modularity. The armor could be temporarily removed, and the Obulette taken to the shipyards to receive a Matrix armor laced with Impervium, for example, and then the Pelagia Star armor itself could be laced with Impervium, giving the ship more durability than ever. The internal hull panels could be replaced easily if they are damaged, and the shields could be retrofitted with the latest model.
- Nine extendable docking tubes
Weaknesses:
- Jack of All Trades: The Scythe's flexibility is also its downfall. Unlike the original Scythe, the Obulette excels in defenses, but is essentially just a Scythe upgraded all around. It doesn’t really excel in speed, In being able to fill a variety of roles, the heavy cruiser truly excels in none. Its defenses are strong, but not that strong, it boasts an average loadout, and can only house three squadrons of starfighters at any given time. In ship to ship engagements, it can be easy for an opponent to take advantage of their vessel's own natural strengths to, if not destroy, fend off our evade the Scythe completely.
- Historic Design: The Scythe has been combat tested by the GADF, but that also means its been combat tested by her enemies. Having seen similar models up close before, a foe can be more likely capable of pinpointing weak points and how to strike to inflict the most damage. Despite being modified, most seasoned enemies will be able to quickly figure out what the Obulette is capable of as they have a spot to start their analysis from.
- Maneuverability: The Scythe heavy cruiser isn't a particularly fast ship for her size, and what speed its design can muster is straight line speed. The profile of the Scythe's prow makes it ponderous to turn, and difficult to execute precision maneuvers. The Obulette is even slower and less maneuverable, despite sublight engine additions, thanks to the heavy weight of the additions. It is about 30% slower than the usual Scythe-class vessel.
- Power Draw - The Obulette uses a few heavy weapons that require smart use of the power systems on the vessel, otherwise the captain will find their vessel a sitting duck. What do you think a long-ranged superheavy quadruple turbolaser system will do if it’s firing at full strength at the same time as other heavy weapons systems (like turbolasers; point-defense is probably gonna be fine)? Probably drain the power system. It might even result in an overload. Basically, don’t fire everything at once, watch heat, and figure out the vessel’s ins and outs. Veteran captains will probably have the best time with this. Newer captains might end up blowing out a system or two (or all of them if they’re morons, or just really bad at understanding starships).
- Rapidfire - The rapidfire systems probably should be allowed to cool responsibly if used in rapidfire mode. Rapidfire mode is best saved for more important circumstances, and should probably be left up to the automated systems so that they can selectively make use of it. Again, please rapidfire responsibly… OR YOU WILL DIE! Okay, you might not die, but it won’t be great.
- Frontal Focus - The heaviest weapons on the Obulette, are focused on firing from the front. That makes the rear and sides a weaker point that that area, and other capital ships are going to take advantage of this by attempting to move out of the line of fire of the vessel’s dangerous front.
- Charging - The heaviest turbolaser takes time to fire. The superheavy emplacement will take a few moments (at least 30 seconds) to charge, and take a few more minutes to cool down sufficiently. If fired independently, the superheavy turboplasers don’t require much time at all to fire. Because other turboplaser systems and the other heavy weapons system can’t be fired while this is charging or firing, these few moments open the ship up to being more easily targeted as the enemy receives a temporary reprieve from the majority of the Obulette’s firepower, while additionally allowing the enemy time to recover shield-wise should the Obulette’s fire have faltered or their other weapons systems have been damaged.
- Expensive - The Obulette’s construction cannot be easily replicated in modifications. It would be cheaper to create a new vessel class of the Scythe-class vessels and manufacture it than to modify another one. Each of the modifications play an important role, and some may be harder to acquire than others, while some new systems - like internal security - cost over 5 million credits, while the stealth system cost over 10 million credits.
- Visible - The Obulette does not have extremely special stealth systems. They are decent, yes, but the ship itself is still able to be seen by the naked eye. This means that no matter how stealthy the Obulette can become, that someone could simply look out of a window and realize that their sensors are lying to them.
