Occupation of Bespin

As it currently stands, Bespin is unclaimed. I suggest we start by taking it under our control, and using the Cortosis, Tibanna gas and shipyards there to start ourselves off

I'm afraid Bespin is already spoken for.
I am in communication with the leadership of the SPQI, and after getting themselves established on Hoth, their first target of conquest is apparently going to be Bespin. I had originally wanted to start the Line out along the Ison Corridor, sweeping from Varonat to Ison, but I promised that I wouldn't get in the SPQI's way if I could help it.

My plan instead is to start us off small with a presence on Manpha. Once we were well established there, we could build up infrastructure and a fleet to take Rutan, then Tantra, Svivren, and so on and so forth. We're literally forming a chain of worlds, one to the next across the Galactic disc toward Osseinium.
Bespin, frankly, is in the wrong direction.

I agree with Triter. As much as Bespin would be a boon to our cause, it's a bit of a hotspot due to its resources; we'd probably clash with other factions before we're ready if we went there first.

Manpha, while primarily swamplands, is located on the Corellian Trade Spine; it also only has one spaceport in SW canon. Resources can still be obtained, we'll have plenty of room for building, and other factions aren't likely going to make a bid for such a backwater world.

Exactly my thought. We can't officially claim the planet until we apply for major faction status anyway. However, Manpha only has a single spaceport; if we occupy that, we can effectively deny the planet to other factions until it's too late.
And we're pirates. If we need resource more quickly than we can develop them there, we can always steal them.

Yes please no clashing with SPQI. I have ties there too supplying then with troops. ;)

Also if need be I cans whip up a planet or two for us. I actually really love doing that. I find it fun so far. And as long as we do a take over I think it would be good (and not do it too many times.) granted for making said planet I would like a bit of goodie goodness for Justice Shipping.

Also for soldiers.... We will need them. I can supply them. How does eh 15% off sound? ;) plus I can custom sub them. As long as I am not the only one doing dev threads for the troops I am cool with it.

Note : also securing a deal for all purpose droids. They will be good for combat, accounting, repair.... Everything. While they will not be sellable because they are being made by a third party they will be hirable as part of the Justice army. Also working on clones. Probably going to sell those as soldiers if the person I am Deving them with in my faction gets onboard.

Just food for thought. :)

[member="James Justice"] Fancy seeing you here. And I agree with no clashing with the SPQI; not because I have any ties with them, but because they're cool. Butting heads would be a shame.

[member="Vincente Aulisi"] [member="Triter Zone"] As for troops, at least where the Marine Corps is involved, I'm certain we can all sit down and work something out both IC and OOC-wise. I have my own development threads in progress for recruits, but we are pirates - it won't be any fun if they aren't a bunch of ragtag scoundrels, droids, and God knows what else.

Well, before ANY of that, we'll need to get the faction's structure and finances in order; I'm thinking we should run a public thread where all the characters involved so far meet on Manpha and start the faction proper. We'll need an adventure to get them all cooperating, too, and Triter can share his ambition with them.
Any ideas for a scenario?

Tell you fellows what I'll start whipping up a sub for space Marines just for this group trained and supplied by justice shipping. How's that sound?

[member="Triter Zone"] Of course, of course - it's more of a personal arc than anything with its own direction, with a lot of time between now and its completion. But I figured I might as well tie the remnants to the bigger, collective cause.

As for get them all cooperating... I could just scoot around the whole chronological process that's occurring with my character right now (I'll be vague to avoid any contradictions, so don't worry) and skip to a later part of his story where he's just generally lost and without purpose. It's pre-planned development, so it shouldn't be forced at all, and it would give my rather independent character a reason to sit down and relate to Triter's ideals.

So I'm hoping it can be something that can have the necessary downtime, in between whatever action-filled bits that come to mind, for that kind of development to happen.

[member="James Justice"] [member="Vincente Aulisi"] Likewise, I'm fine with that so long as Triter gives you the OK. But before you submit, could run it by me? ICly, Talatheen will be in charge of the Marine Corps, so I just want to know what to expect, and perhaps suggest minor adjustments without infringing on your original vision.

Sounds awesome. Does anyone have weapon contracts that must be filled regarding arming these Marines? Otherwise I'll arm them with the weapons of my primary supplier.

Sounds good to me. I am open to ideas. We can use my planet Soceras, if you want. Crime city Dal'bor on it James is working on becoming it's kingpin if you need a scene to place it on. :)

Milo's actually a pretty talented designer; he developed a high-performance starfighter used by the old Ossein Pirates: the Scrimshaw.
I'm going to be designing some weapons for our soldiers to use; don't have anyone to build them for me, though. Know anyone who might do that?
