Wild Space.

It wasn't a region she'd sparsely explored, nor was it a region she'd considered negligible, but it was certainly not her first choice for a meeting. Yet, regardless of personal opinion, when she'd been asked to reach out and probe for support for the Confederacy she was quick to turn her attention to one particular individual.

She'd never met him, she'd hardly even spoken to him, but the man's name was more than familiar to her. Arken Lussk was his name and the face behind the company she'd taken a liking to. Even before her indoctrination into the Confederacy as a member of it's Dark Acolytes and Mercenary Corps. she had been eyeing the provisions and technology of Aegis Systems.

And so, with what liberty she had been granted, when asked to provide resources to the Confederacy through contract to a reasonable company? She was apt to turn her attention to Arken Lussk and his company filled with technology her father and uncle would have drooled over in their time as gun runners for the Republic. But that wasn't something that would curb her discomfort within Wild Space.

The most disturbing part, as she'd quickly noted upon their drop from hyperspace, was the prolonged silence from Skiss as they traveled through hyperspace to the location where she'd agreed to meet her contact. Grabbing the throttle and adjusting the balance controls, the young mercenary guided the Vekarr's Pride towards the looming ship and into it's docking bay. A simple start to a difficult endeavor.

Disembarking from the freighter and descending the docking ramp, the woman couldn't help but ask herself just who she was going to be meeting.

After all a name was hardly much to go by.

Wild Space

The Soma had prowled through this space ever since its birth. They were the common hunting grounds of pirates or other venturing forth to prey on the weaker spacers. Be that as it may, Arken highly doubted any of them wanted to tussle with anything of his. Dropping head first into a system and sensor pinging a star destroyer seemed to deter most threats, which was exactly what the man wanted. His guests needed safety and surety of this meeting going over smoothly.

He never made a promise he couldn't guarantee.

"A vessel is approaching. IFF tag reads as Confederacy, and I'm only picking up a few lifeforms aboard." A synthesized voice crackled over the intercom, before an avatar materialized before him on the bridge. Short, childlike, and undeniably cute. Rosy cheeks and bright eyes. Arken hadn't the slightest clue where Jenna picked up her avatar's looks, but he rather enjoyed it. Mischievous and intelligent, just the way he liked it.

"Let them board. Get an escort down there to bring them to me," the man commanded, rising from his seat to make for the meeting area.

It had taken less than a few moments into her descent down the docking ramp for her to notice that she was being watched. A glance to her right and left revealed personnel but it was the group directly in front of her that caught her attention. An escort, a notion that would have been otherwise unwelcome until she noticed that they weren't packing. Or so she believed as she shouldered her verpine and disruptor to make the trek simpler.

As she made her way through the ship, following the escort with an effort to avert their attention by playing passive, she couldn't help but question her donning of her custom armor. There was prospective reinforcement and then there was vanity, and, as she flicked her arms about and took recollection of her gear, she took effort to recall what purpose it could serve in her meeting with the company CEO. If that was what he considered himself.

Upon reaching the meeting room, a walk she would have preferred to take more directly, she immediately took note of the escorts departure. Eyeing the room up and down, left and right, her eyes fell on the figure she could only assume she was meeting and silently stood in anticipation.

She would not enter uninvited, she was here for business but she wasn't going to handle it aggressively.

This wasn't a war zone. And this was his ship.

It was only natural to keep an eye on those who walked into your home. Causing a ruckus or petty thievery was something Arken wouldn't tolerate whatsoever. That, and the show of some meager force was always an added bonus to let his guests know that he was in complete control of the situation and its circumstances.

The young man made for the meeting room quickly, summoning his best friend and companion to join him. Victor caught him in the corridor as he strode to the meeting room.

"Master, stand fast." The droid quipped.

Arken eyed the bot and complied. The battle droid moved in front of him and deftly grabbed at his shirt. Metal fingers adjusted his tie, straightened the creases in his dress shirt, and otherwise took care of all of his imperfections. As always.

He snorted and gave the bot a loving pat. "Thanks, let's go."

Victor's photoreceptors flashed in response and off they went. The journey was uneventful and free of idle chatter as they came to the doors of the meeting room. The buzzer flashed as he waved his keycard in front of it and in he strode. It was wide and spacious, with white walls and numerous holographic displays littering the fore of the room. A long, wooden table sat at the middle with enough comfortable chairs for an entire diplomatic delegation.

Arken took the seat at the head of his table, clearing his throat absentmindedly.

"Victor," he chortled, "Let our guest in."

The droid moved to escort Miss Vekkar in.

She'd never been one for meetings, deals or discussions. All her life she'd lead her path with her father and uncle handling the more business savvy parts of the trade. But that time had passed with the disappearance of the two men along with their expertise in any part of the Vekarr's negotiation competence.

Only as she began to make her way, guided, into the meeting room did she fully realize the pressure that was on her shoulders. She first glanced across the room towards where her host was standing. Then to the escort that had all but coaxed her into the room and then to the table with it's neatly arranged chairs.

To say they were something she couldn't imagine the owner of a technology production company owning, she would have been making a judgement she expected none of her peers to make of her. So, rather than dwelling on the questions, she made her way towards an open chair and arranged it so she could sit with her equipment close by and in view.

Folding her arms over her chest, tilting her head back slightly into the chair, the young agent waited. He knew what he wanted, she knew what she needed to ask for but it was only a matter of time before the first spoke up.

She wasn't inclined to be that person. Better to let him suggest before she underwent the obligatory dissection of details.

Curious and bright eyes watched as the young agent surveyed the room in all of its splendor. Honestly, it really wasn't that much to look at. Just the standard business pleasantries with a wide-arc viewport to offer a stunning view of absolutely nothing. The void of space had a tendency of having that effect, but Arken liked the metaphor of having the stars at his back, so he made sure the architects had included his aesthetic effect - much against their wishes.

Arken raised himself in the chair just a tad, just enough to eye the weapons and gadgetry that Miss Vekarr had brought. He smiled, knowing all too well that some of it bore the emblazoned logos of both Aegis Systems and its sister company, Jaeger Solutions.

"I take it you're a fan of our work, Miss Vekkar?" The young man offered a childlike grin. "I hope our latest and greatest are up to par with your expectations."
