Oh dear pirates!

Corusaunt
Overlooking the last of the loading

Adal gave a smile as she watched the cargo being loaded, she gave a smile as she here the dock hands putting it down and securing them

Ma'am, the cargo is loaded

Great load the crew to their stations we depart now

The order was given, the crew loaded up and soon the freighter was off and into hyperspace

However, half way through the ship experienced a technical difficulty and had to drop out of hyper space in the middle of no where

What seems to be the problem?

Well ma'am the engines seem to...have a few wires out of place

I want guards down there with technicians now

Just around that time....a few pirates dropped out of space...few small ships and a cruiser...one that dwarf her started firing at her engines" oh crap get the men armed now!" She yelled as the alarms rang and the ship shook, the freighter cpuldnt.hold out against the pirates..not for long she hoped long enough that the distress signal would reach someone....

Dio had been traveling for...how long had it been since he left Naboo? Months? Years? He shook his head as it wasn't much of a concern right now. He was heading to the Core just to restock on supplies and maybe stretch his legs a bit while he got off the ship. It was not at all the life he had hoped for, so much had gone wrong in such a short time. He'd had a few run-ins and ferried a few people illegally, but he was just trying to get by. As his mind wandered he checked his course, still a good few hours on the main hyperlanes before he would be able to resupply. He closed his eyes and let himself drift into a light sleep.

About 15 minutes into his rest he heard a beep. He knew that he hadn't gotten to Coruscant yet. Maybe it was just the navicomp yelling at him about something or another. He opened his eyes slightly...no that wasn't it. It was a different light, some sort of comms message. Bored and wondering who would be getting in touch with him of all people, he flicked the switch and listened. No voice message, but it was a repetitious sound. An annoying one as well. Balling up his right hand into a fist he hit the comms console with a solid thunk. It was a set of coordinates. THe sound was one meant to get attention...a distress beacon? Maybe. He wasn't the best pilot out there, but he knew his YV-929 pretty well. MIght as well see what help he could give.

Reverting back to realspace as soon as was safe, he entered the coordinates from the beacon and hoped that this wasn't some huge assault type situation. otherwise things were not going to end well. While he had managed to link many of the weapons systems the hot wired connections were...questionably reliable. Oh sure they worked, when they wanted to. He sometimes swore that the ship itself hated him. He shut down the weapons outside of the triple lasers and concussion missile launchers.

This was immediately regrettable as he dropped out of hyperspace at the coordinates of the beacon. A cruiser and some lighter ships. Dio quickly started to power down the triple lasers and reroute the power to the turbolasers. That cruiser was going to be a problem, but he might be able to attract it's attention. His shields could take a beating if need be, and he decided to say hello with a barrage of ion fire in the general direction of the cruiser. Once those were cooling and recharging, he fired one missile each from the fore tubes in a staggered pair. THis was likely suicide, but it would be fun while it lasted, right?

Indeed, when the new ship came and attacked the cruiser broke off and moved onto the other freighter firing a volley of turbo lasers at the freighter

Meanwhile the light ships around the now disabled freighter was being harassed with light fire to keep them back, however one got in and managed to dock onto it, now a battle was being fought inside and out of the ship

"Well this is not the best introduction that could have been made. Hate when everything goes to hell this fast."

Dio was not the type to make many snide remarks when trying to concentrate on not dying, but this one seemed to come naturally to him. It was not long before his new friend was engaging him with turbolasers. The freighter was small enough that the first few bolts went wide, but the couple that found their target shook the ship rather nicely. The turbolasers on his end were finally finishing charging. His shields were not doing stellar, but he took the risk and pushed the throttle full forward. He targeted the turret that was slightly above him on the underside of the cruiser. Four turbolasers lanced towards their target. Though they hit the cruiser its shields were still active, and seemed to be at about the same level as his own, this was quickly turning into a contest of who could outlast the other.

Dio diverted most of the shield strength to cover the dorsal side of his ship. One of the smaller ships had taken advantage of his minorly successful strafing run to drop in on his tail. Bad idea. He almsot felt bad as he fired the aft concussion missile launchers as the pilot closed in. The explosion was close enough to rock his freighter rather violently, and it was only through sheer luck he was able to regain control of his own ship. Minor hull damage to the back of the ship.

The fact that one of the smaller ships had managed to dock with the one that had sent the broadcast was...less than good news. Right now though he had to try and take out their big guns. Once the cruiser was disabled he could go help onboard the other freighter.

The cruiser was a pirate being said not he well best kept one, it's shields buckled and it started raining turbo laser in a attempt to bog the enemy down

Meanwhile on the freighter a fire fight had broken out, both sides had gained, for now both were equal unless the other freighter managed to bust through

Dio was less than thrilled with the turn of event's but this was about what he should have expected. He knew his best chance would be to give the pirates something hard to fix. Life support seemed a good target. And the ion cannons had finally finished recharging. Scanning the cruiser took a bit and even then it wasn't the most precise location, more of a 'should be somewhere in this area based on the model.' Looked like it was time to link the ion cannons and turbolasers and pray. Either this would work or at least one of the weapons would fail to fire. He focused on his breathing so as to calm himself and opened fire.

He angled up towards the underside of the cruiser, turbolasers lancing all around his ship, with the occasional one scoring a hit. Pulling the trigger Dio held it down for as long as the turbolasers would fire. That was only a couple of salvos. Well so much for that plan. At least that meant a bit more salvos with the ion cannons., he let them keep going until the system starting yelling about imminent overheating. How he abhorred alarms and loud beeping sounds. So he stopped and began to turn back towards the other cruiser, hoping that the crew was having a better time with the boarders than he was having with this cruiser.

The large cruiser was slow and the crews diligence to repair most things left it slower, so when the freighter opened fire it started breaking off suffering damage that would put it out of the battle for the rest of the time

Meanwhile on board technical crew was being pushed back, many laid either dead or dying or wounded, they kept moving to the hold where the cargo sat, adal had a crazy idea, however she was receiving reports that a other freighter had came and caused the cruiser to break off, this brought some relief as she moved back further and further with the crew to the last point

Dio had a bad feeling hat the crew of the disabled freighter was having a bad time, and that it wasn't about to get any better. Seeing that the cruiser was breaking off its engagement, he set the shields back to covering the entirety of the hull. Yea sure a bit less powerful overall, but they needed time to recover. Time he didn't currently have. He needed to get onboard or at least find some way to demoralize the enemy combatants. It was clear he didn't think that last part through since he had no real means of doing so from his own ship. Well, damn it all. He took a deep breath and tried to focus as Syler had shown him, trieed to center himself and let the Force guide him. He had very little actual experience in this area, and net to no training. Just calming his own nerves was difficult.

It took him a good minute to calm down enough that he was willing to try and land in the hangar of the other ship. Good thing his was not a massive ship. It was going to be difficult but he kept his calm, constantly reassuring himself he could do it. As he neared the hangar time seemed to slow to a crawl around him, not necessarily the Force, just hyper focused he figured. It was not the most graceful landing in all honesty, nearly ripped the struts right off and skidded a bit more than he should have. He knew now to reduce throttle more when landing next time in such a small space.

The one thing Syler had focused most on was the use of a lightsaber, in his case she had taught him the use of a saberstaff, two blades to keep track of but an intimidating weapon. They had sparred many times and he had managed even to best her in a match at one point. He alays chalked that up to having learned her fighting style though. These were the thoughts on his mind as he removed the double bladed hilt from his hip and made his way into the ship. It was not hard to find the current epicenter of the conflict, just follow the dead and dying. Inside he felt his anger flare, that there were those who would attack a defenseless freighter.

Closing in on the battle taking place from behind the enemy, he activated his saber with a flourish bringing it to rest at his left side, hand gripping it in the center. He said nothing as he waited for the enemy to strike first. He could take a couple hits, but it was clear that what little armor he wore was not of the heavy variety.

The final stand, the pocketed crew defending the other hold fired and ducked, all side were they surrounded, adal sat in the middle issuing orders as she cpuld, however...she was opening a box, with a clink she opened them as she looked in* man I'm gonna piss someone off* she said removing a large weapons that looked like it fire pretty big rounds*

She loaded it, aimed, fired it

Meanwhile some pirates ran into [member="Diogenes D'Agosta"] <ph crap man its a jedi!> they say firing

Dio was a bit shaken by the sounds of battle in close quarters. It had been a good while since he had been so up close and personal with the enemy, hearing the pirates who ran into him caused a smile to spread across his face. They were right to be afraid. A quick swipe to the upper right, and one pirate was holding a neatly bisected rifle, his shots having gone just wide of the Echani, this was followed with a quick downward strike to the man's left leg, a grazing hit but one that would be debilitating. A quick spin of both his body and saber grazed the other across the chest, however he had more resilience and managed to get a couple of shots off and they did graze the exiled Jedi,s shoulder, bringing a quick cry of pain and rage. This was a bad idea on the goon's part as the next spin of the saber quickly took off his head.

He continued on down the hall towards the crew, deactivating his saber and drawing his pistol from its place on his hip. The shots were not meant to be lethal, just to disable the pirates firing as well as provide distraction. Hittting was a plus but he wasn't entirely sure of every shot by any means.

The pirates scatter at the Jedi running further and further closer to the main battle

Meanwhile the ship shook as the weapons made contact and detonated causing a huge explosion taking a handful of Pirates, meanwhile the rest back up in cover as adal cursed to herself and loaded another shell into the gun ready to fire again* men get around them I don't want them to even peek at me

[member="Diogenes D'Agosta"]

Dio moved casually through the halls, it was disquieting that they would scatter so quickly, at least that is how he would normally feel about such things. This time though he was thankful He could feel the number of fading presences ahead and the concentration of life that was in such a small area. As he rounded the corner he opened fire on the attackers again. These were not like the last shots, these were meant to kill. Given his training he managed to hit the targets, whether they would stay down or not was up for debate, but they would be out of commission for a few moments at least.

He ejected the spent power cell and replaced it with a fresh one, firing a second time at those who were recently downed. Those whom he hit in the quick flurry of shots were down for the count now. Dio stayed calm, constantly thinking back to his minuscule training, and trying not to let himself think about the fact he was killing those who were only doing their job, he had to look at it as protecting the crew. THat is why he waas here, no other reason, the death was just a means to a noble end.

Those in his path were hit and down a few dying and a few going down and groaning staying down as they rolled in pain, the pirates were being forced by the crew into the hangar as the men got the rest that they could rounded up and guns pointed

Adal came out as she put the weapon up and grabbed a pistol, she got informed a Jedi of some sorts was on board, she sent a man to find and bring him to her as the pirates had cuffs put on them

The man ran up panting hands up* don't shook I'm a crew member, miss armina sends for you she is in the hangar

[member="Diogenes D'Agosta"]

Dio turned as he hard the sound of another person heading in his direction. They were running, that was easy to tell just by the tempo of the footfalls. The attackers seemed to have given up on the fight for now. He sighed as she thought back over everything that had happened over these past...hours? Minutes? However long it had been he was feeling a bit tired of the whole deal.

His short time of thinking back over what had taken place was interrupted by the man running up to him and raising his hands while panting heavily. When the crewman explained why he was there Dio nodded and holstered the pistol.

"If Miss Armina wishes to meet with me, then I suppose we should not keep her waiting. I will follow you, and don't worry I have no want to bring unnecessary pain or death. You and the other crew are safe."

[member="Adal Armina"]

he nodded and started leading him to the hangar, a fire was being put out and the pirates being led off as any boarding ship they head was drained of fuel then pushed ot with them aboard

adal walked up as her crew man came up and whispered in her ear

so your the jedi that helped us hu? guess i owe you a big thanks you seemed to spook these pirates good
